As a V2 owner, I live in Taiwan. I agree your pros and cons for V2. I haven’t had issues as you mentioned. My only issue was difficult to start when the bike is cold, and the dealer reset the computer, then the problem is fixed.
@@RUclips_Globetrotter V2 costs around $38k USD in Taiwan, sounds unbelievable, right? Insurance is cheap, normally it takes about $100 USD a year, depends on your program
I am an owner as well and as far as sidestand are concerned... Ducati designed theirs to be picked at (the very tip) with front of toe right below the footpeg. Takes a little practice, I found, as I discovered after searching thru online forums. I wear track boots primarily and it's been easier to do with my Sidi brand somewhat pointy toes.... Hope this helps if you haven't already figured it out.
Nice detailed review! I’m considering getting the v2. For the heat issue, do you feel the heat would be too much of an issue for someone that lives in a moderate and hot climate or can it be manageable and not too much of a problem? I live in California where the weather is moderate to hot all year round. I prefer sport bikes over naked bikes and will mostly be using the bike for urban and canyon riding. No interest in taking it to the track but I may try some track days in the future.
I live in SoCal (OC to be exact) and I've had my V2 for over a year now. I mostly use it for commuting to and from work and occasionally do some canyon rides with the local Ducati club. I personally think the heat isn't that much of an issue. I wear jeans lined with Kevlar in certain locations. Yes, the heat is noticeable when temps are 85+ out but it's very manageable as long as the bike is moving, especially on the highway. Once you get to a light, you certainly can feel the heat emanating from under the seat and you'll feel it on the insides of your legs. Is it painful? Not so much. If I were to rate the pain from the heat 1-10 (10 being your legs are on fire) I would give it a 4 or 5 at most. During our CA winters, this heat is a welcome reprieve and the heat feels great between your legs. As long as you're not out riding in bumper to bumper traffic in 90+ temps, you will be just fine. I promise.
Thanks! I think the V2 is a perfect balance of power and handling for the road and the track. I think you will find the zx10r too fast for the road and you cant really experience the power unless you in a fast group on the track
If you bought a ducati of year 2013+ PLEASE get your suspension tuned, they come with the rear shock super stiff from dealer and it hurts so bad. Just find a suspension shop and ask them to tune for your weight.
I love that clutch cover. That's sweet !! Hoping I can find one of these in the next couple weeks... If I got it through Ducati they said it would take until Sept... maybe I will just order a new one
Hi from Spain! Very nice review! I also have the V2 but the Troy Bayliss edition and I had it for a year and a half now. I’m just curious about some things: 1) how good are the Bridgestone S22 compared to the stock Pirellis? I’ve just changed mine for the Diablo Supercorsa V4 but it’s been raining and I haven’t tried them yet; 2) are the police happy with all of these modifications?; 3) do you have circuits there in Norway? Have you ever drove it in circuit?; 4) how did you manage to drive it so much? I thought in Norway you couldn’t ride too much because of the weather; 5) I’ve also installed the Ducati spacers heat shield, but haven’t tried yet either, let’s see if the heat improves
6) weird thing the issue with the starting. Mine doesn’t do that and sometimes I start the bike and it’s at more than 100 degrees and starts with no problem
Fantastic review, I'm in the final stages of deciding if to go ahead with a purchase, the heat issue is a concern but as I'm in the UK we generally do not have really hot summers Still undecided as to go for Red or White but I suppose Ducati should be red

Hi! Can you help me a bit? I have a Panigale V2 I love the sound of the 2-cylinder, that's why I bought it, but it's simply so raw, so shaky that it's too much for me. Are there any 2-cylinder supersport engines that run smoother? or is this the case with all manufacturers?
Guess you gonna need to get a CBR 650 or so or Aprilia Tuono 660 but they are lower in power. I mean the more cylinders the smoother it gets. I really can recommend the Street Triple. Maybe you get a Daytona 675 or the Limited Daytona 765 Moto2

Great review! Considering a V2 as an upgrade to my MT07, you mentioned the heat; I also live in Norway (Asker) and wanted to check, did you have any issues with heat in recent summers? We've had some periods where its been high 20s so I'm thinking it might get uncomfortable at times. I also use my bike for commuting, but it's just along the E18 to lysaker so it should be fine for that too :)
It's there but it's not like your leg will be cooking like on the V4. If you wear leather it will be a lot more bearable! If you're in A LOT of stop and go traffic then yes it might get hotter than you'd like but as long as you're not stopping for too long you'll be ok!
some of us have more than one bike, and sometimes the weather can be bad. i live in southern cali so 95% of the year is rideable, but other states have riding seasons which are only a few months

Service ligger som regel på 3-4k avhengig for årlig service, desmo service er nok rundt det dobbelte ca. Forsikring varierer veldig men typisk rundt 1200kr i måneden for fullkasko.
As a v2 owner since 2020 I have to disagree a bit... This bike is NOT a soft riding daily... It's built for the track. Get it tuned to really wake it up, the stock seat is hard as a brick, the suspension is stiff AF and it runs hot as hell. Def not a daily rider and the seating is super aggressive. Enjoy and ride safe.
Looking at how low that cable tie is on your folk leg you could do with putting some preload in your folks as that is at bottom out 😬👍 not sure what your weight is but I had to pretty much max my preload out 🙈
It's definitely modern or even futuristic but some people want elegant subtleness. This looks more like classic Ducatis like the 916 or 1098, and the smoothness may prove to be more timeless in 20 years. I'm not saying I like how this or that looks more... But the v2 is more streetable (low rev power and riding position) and cheaper, so I'm getting a v2. Plus, it's also like classic Ducatis in that it's the L twin
