If there was anything to learn from this video it's that instruments are tools. Tools are made to perform specific tasks. So price doesn't really matter as each flute has it's own purpose and unique sound. A 20k flute wont always be the right fit for a melody

Each of these flutes produce an unique sound and originated from a different country. The slide whistle originated from USA (1900). The flute powell originated from France, a popular orchestra instrument - a very advance, versatile and complex instrument. I played the easy version when I was 11-12 years old and the technique he uses here is called double staccato, it's not very difficult but it takes a lot of practice. Im working on it :)

But the word "talented" gets thrown around far too often, and is often regarded like it merely came naturally to those people. When in fact there's usually very much sweat, tears, and determination involved at reaching that level of skill.

Aun que tambien la diferencia de materiales del que estan hechos , la calidad , las diversas funciones , marca de este , la procedencia , tambien como se nota en la ultima flauta que los sonidos son claros y tambien que se le puede cambiar la intensidad del sonido como se nota en la parte inferior. I commend you for playing the slide whistle that well, that must have taken ages, wow! Also, I am continually impressed by the fact that the concert flute is the only instrument I know of, where the instrument that is considered the best sounding is the one made of actual gold. Also also, my favourite flutes were not included. I love kaval, but not dilli kaval, which was the one played in the video. The ones I like have no fipple and are played by blowing over a sharp edge. I especially like the sound of the Egyptian kawala, which has a very airy yet very warm and sentimental tone, just like the Sirocco desert wind. :)
My impression as well, and of course I hear the difference. Interestingly enough it was the two cheapers and the most expensive that had the most pleasant sound. Flutes, like violins, can be quite grating. Then again, if I had been half my age my opinion might have been another, as I would have heard more of the higher overtones.

Quite frankly, I preferred the $12 Latin American wooden flute. Mind you, I've a John Sindt custom made Irish whistle which sells for about $200 these days. The difference is the real wood tone vs brass tone.
Coincidences are amazing! Just the other day I received a bamboo Quena, from Peru of course, especially to play El Condor Pasa, because of it's warm, woody sound. My Sindt cost me only $60 in 1999 - before folks realized how wonderful they are, and before the two year waiting list.

There are many ways to an epic ending but yes that could be one of them.
The range in that piccolo is actually incredible, taking into account how short it is.
It's just physics innit
The shorter the instrument or smaller is always higher, you would know if your in a band with a pricing piccolo that sounds horrible in person

Quite frankly, I preferred the $12 Latin American wooden flute. Mind you, I've a John Sindt custom made Irish whistle which sells for about $200 these days. The difference is the real wood tone vs brass tone.
Coincidences are amazing! Just the other day I received a bamboo Quena, from Peru of course, especially to play El Condor Pasa, because of it's warm, woody sound.
My Sindt cost me only $60 in 1999 - before folks realized how wonderful they are, and before the two year waiting list.
