Stayed in one of these for three nights on London in November last year. Could not fault it. Only cost me £250 including dinner and breakfast. Right next to Westminster Abby. Brilliant. 👍🏻
Is it £250 a night or for the whole 3 nights?
@@luciollelsa it says 250 for everything Including dinner and breakfast for the 3 days
I absolutely love these hotels. I think I’ve now stayed in all of the Hub hotels in London and even one in Edinburgh. The housekeepers in these hotels are clearly extremely highly trained and care deeply because my rooms have always been absolutely spotless, the AC is always in good working order; I remember last year in the 40° heat, my room was beautifully cool and nice. Receptionists and night porters are always attentive, friendly and quick to respond to any questions or requests. The breakfast is nice. The rooms are brilliantly well sound isolated, you can hear nothing apart from what’s inside your room. Brilliant water pressure. BrillIant TV with AirPlay to watch something to unwind before sleep (and some do have HDMI input just below the TV for laptops etc). I’ve just literally never been able to find any complaint other than, there’s no tea and coffee in the room, and you have to go down to the bar for your morning brew before you shower (it is completely free mind and you can help yourself as much as you like)
Also, if you are staying, that little shelf under the bed for luggage slides out, took me a few visits to realise, very nice if you just need to slide your suitcase out to grab a clean pair of socks or whatever when you’re getting ready…
Out of all the locations, which was the best?
This was the size of my apartment when I lived in NYC right out of college and it was half as nice.
I've lived in London for the past 17 years, so I don't stay in the hotels here, but I am really impressed with this. As far as budget hotels go, this is one of the best I've seen.
I stay in the Shoreditch one regularly; it is always clean and welcoming and I like their breakfasts. My only niggle is that the air con refuses to go lower than 19 degrees but that's too hot for a perimenopausal like me - more air con control please other than that, fabulous.
I'm staying in that one soon. Does the area around the hotel feel safe in the evening/at night? I'm a female solo traveller :)
LOL. I much appreciated the "shoes off." So many reviewers (especially in the US but honestly everywhere) jump on the beds with dirty outdoor shoes, and some even step on the beds while getting on. Animals! ;) Just having fun. But I am glad to see it.
I know this post is year later but my boyfriend and I watch your channel and love it! We actually watched this video prior to traveling to London and fell in love with it. We are actually staying here right now. Thank you for the insightful vlog, Tim! We’re excited to always see your upcoming vlogs 😊
Rather posh for such a compact room!
The Doorbell was very snazzy!
Nice tone too!
Nice big comfy looking bed I agree with you Tim tho I don't like beds next to walls much makes it feel abit closterphobic (know I spelt that wrong, but you know what I mean!)
Nifty little work station & very narrow little window.
The TV was excellent liked the Wake up Alarm on the TV, that's a great idea.
Handy storage behind the full length Mirror!
I liked the Bathroom sink too Tim very modern & classy & a Nice clean Bathroom, the mood lighting was nice lots of great buttons to play about with adjusting the ambiance & the Air Conditioning.
Great for a nights stay tho I can't imagine a long stay in a mini room like that.
But certainly comfy for a short stay
That's the first time I've seen a Hotel Hub Tim!☺️
I have been staying at the one in Westminster since Wednesday, and leave tomorrow. I am in a standard room, but is a corner room, so the layout is a little different. Everything else is similar to what is in the video.
The one in Westminster is fantastic. It's clean, comfortable, and has a laid back atmosphere. The location is ideal. I will definitely be back, if I stay in the area again.
The hub is usually always my go to when staying in London or Edinburgh. They are very comfortable and I love being able to control everything from my bed!
Me and my family stayed in a Premier Inn hotel in Hounslow West back in the year of 2013, and the second time in 2018. Such good memories ❤️❤️
I love the Hubs. I’ve not stayed at Kings Cross but both the Covent Garden one and Tottenham Court Road one are great too. The only design flaw/word of warning is the lack of tea and coffee facilities in the room and the small assault course of heavy, key-carded doors between the complementary hot drinks machine in the bar and your room door. I’d recommend bringing your own reusable travel mug to avoid a clumsy thumb scalding (been there, bought the burn gel from Covent Garden Boots!)
These are great. Stayed in the Westminster one. Absolutely brilliant. Also...free breakfast because we didn't realise you had to pay (thought work had booked us a room with breakfast) and we just helped ourselves. It was that busy, no one noticed.
Love this. Premier Inn just absolutely nail the hotel industry. Wouldn't stay anywhere else! Great video as always Tim!
Couldn't agree more!
I'm happy to stat at Premier Inn and do. To say I'd never stay anywhere else though... that's a stretch.
My wife and iIstayed at the Goodge Street Hub hotel in London in Novemebrer 2022 and at the Haymarket Hub hotel in Edinburgh a couple of weeks ago. Both were absolutely brilliant and would recommend both 100%.
We're heading back to Goodge Street in the summer
Thanks Tim, very interesting as a builder and hotelier into more compact living and accommodation. I previously built narrowboats and often people looking into buying one would be concerned over space. I would tell them, "you can only sit in one seat at a time so make it a comfortable one!" Having a huge space just means more heating, cleaning and more walking!
As others have mentioned, an ideal room for one traveller or business person but a little cozy for two. I’d definitely try one out.
That looked like a lovely, cosy room. I'm discovering so many places I didn't know about from watching your videos - thanks Tim.
Love the Hub hotels, perfect for the solo traveller. I usually come to London for my birthday in January when prices are pretty cheap. However they get MUCH more expensive at other times of the year!
I stayed in these twice. The first an alarm went off at 5 in the morning, I honestly thought it was the fire alarm, I got up and went to leave in my jammies. Realised when I looked out the spyglass in the door no one else was up and moving.
Second time I was put in a basement room (no windows, really dark atmosphere to me and... HAD TO MAKE MY OWN BED. No word of a lie. Sheets and everything were just piled up neatly at the end of the bed. And my company paid £189 for me to stay there.
Never again 🤣
Never had any issues with a normal premier inn (I travel for work and always stay in them). The 'tech savvy' upgrades just aren't worth it.
My wife and I stayed in the Westminster hub last year. We loved it and it was cheaper than a normal premier Inn in London. We did upgrade to the larger hub room which was smaller than the standard premier Inn rooms but larger than your hub room and for ten quid was the right decision as that little extra gave more space but still felt cosy and unique. Read, really recommend the hubs.
I’m with you on this one Tim, compact and neat and no grime. Thanks for the intro.
You bet
Oh wow! I absolutely love these little Hubs! I love the cleanliness, the coziness, the smart design of the entire hotel and the price! This is the way to go if you are traveling and don't want to spend a fortune, but still have top quality accommodations! Wish they had these here in the U.S. I love to travel, but cannot afford to because of the prices for hotels, as well as the cost for food and trying to do anything on the trip. If we had the Hub here it might would make travel possible again.
Thanks so much Tim for checking this hotel out. I may even write Premier Inn about possible Hubs being built here in the U.S. .....never hurts to ask :)
Really impressed, so clean and tidy. Looked like a comfy bed, well done Tim, 💚
I love Premier Inn Hub; especially the one at Tower Bridge, as it’s only 200 metres from my work place. Excellent VLOG as usual Tim.
thanks
Thanks for sharing. On the South Coast near Worthing, so often spent days out in London, but now considering an overnight stay!!
Another video done so well. Thanks for the valuable information. The videos are so fun to watch because of your great personality and enthusiasm you provide.Great job Tim !
So nice of you
I stayed in the Hub just off Westminster. Was great, would recommend. Breakfast was a bit scaled back but aside from that, nothing to complain about.
Interesting hotel - probably best for solo travellers…
I looked up the price for tonight (9th Feb) and a standard room is £116.45. I tried other days and it’s anything from £66 to nearly £200.
The upper end is certainly pricey!!
I always stay in a Hub when I have to be in London overnight. Comfortable and good value for London. I've always found the staff friendly and helpful, too.
Stayed in one in Edinburgh a couple of weeks ago, loved it with the bar area and comfy couches🙂👍
I stayed in The premier hub in Edinburgh a few years ago loved it, yes it was more like a Japanese room compacted but very practical. Everything you need, great shower room. Very high quality technology in the room. Tv and can be controlled from your mobile phone like a remote.
I’m a big fan of Premier Inn, particularly hubs. I always choose the Westminster Abbey one, in Tothill Street, and every time everything is perfect. Cosy rooms, super comfy bed, spectacular breakfast. And complimentary coffee/tea available all day (and night) is an amazing extra-treat! Last week was my fifteenth or sixteenth time at Westminster Abbey hub and I will always choose it.
I stayed in one in Edinburgh over new years. Was very impressed
Those efficient small rooms remind me a lot of Norwegian Cruise Lines "Solo Studio" single person staterooms on their cruise ships. Very small, very efficient and very comfortable.
I've stayed in the Kings Cross one several times and love it. Me and a friend call it the cheese board hotel as the cheese board in the restaurant is lovely! x
You had me at high powered monsoon shower. I wish they had Premiere here in the states. Thats gotta be the cleanest, nicest place I've seen of all your videos I've watched ao far.
We've stayed at hub Rose Street Edinburgh, a number of times! Love it. The only criticism is the bed stuck in the corner, so whoever sleeps against the wall gets the shirt straw! Otherwise 95/100
Looks quite cosy and clean thanks Tim look forward to the next Yvonne 😊
Hiya Tim,thanks for showing us hotel, didn't think it was to bad ,would like to seen othe room's,nice looking hotel and great views, not bad breakfast,👍
Hi Tim, Good vlog, liked the room nice and clean and good bathroom, hope you slept well in the comfy bed, thanks for sharing see you next time 😊
Thanks 👍
Me and my mrs used to use these at the end of 2020-2021, was £39 a night😂 Compared to now though when they’re charging 150 ish a night
Hi Tim love this how cool . Thanks for sharing with us love to you as always Tracey 💕 xxxx
I always stay at that exact hotel whenever I go to visit my friends in London. Good transport links nearby, a lot of restaurants and I just love the overall feel of the hotel and room.
I’ve stayed there in a larger room, great hotel and location.
You should try one of the Zip by Premier Inn, think just in Cardiff at the moment.
I LOVED one in Edinburgh a few years ago, super cosy and loved the tv and lighting! Would certainly book one again.
I absolutely love the one I stayed in in Shoreditch, which has the same interior design as this one. Fun, pretty, and really affordable, compared to a regular PI. And the staff were really friendly and helpful, even though I arrived at 3AM!
I’ve stayed in the Edinburgh Hub off The Royal Mile a few times and it’s great for what I need and they’re compact but not claustrophobic and have everything you need in the room. Great service from the guys working there too. Definitely going again.
Staying at the new tallest premier inn in Canary Wharf. Staying in the premier plus rooms for one week with my girlfriend. You're review of these rooms is super helpful. love all your content but the reviews like these are extra amazing because of how relevant they are to people who like to travel but also you are so entertaining and down to earth when it comes to reviewing. perfect balance. definitely going to become a patreon as a thanks for your work
She must be a classy girl...lolzords.
Thanks Oscar , didn't see u on Patreon tho
Stayed in the one at Haymarket Edinburgh just last weekend and it's really good especially for the price and area where everywhere else is overcharging. Easy check in and check out as well.
I’ve literally stayed in that premier inn hub. Was weird staying in a room in the basement with no window but the room was good and cheap pint too
My parents love the London ones haha this is perfect I have a big job interview tomorrow all day and my self soothe channel has delivered again! Thanks Tim
Hope it went well
I certainly would use one of them if I'm ever needing to stay over in London. I know my teenage son would be wanting his own bedroom changing to be similar.
Cool design and so updated ,nice room Tim , and bar 🤗
They are super to use, brilliant for travelling, regularly use KX, so handy, usual high Premier Inn standards and for me great value
I stopped at the Covent Garden hub last night. I didn’t get a pull out desk and neither did my sister in her room, which was a real nuisance! No where to put anything other than a narrow ledge on the back wall. It was very clean and served its purpose, but wouldn’t rush to use another any time soon
Stayed several times in the Hub Westminster Abbey in the larger room, absolutely fantastic .
We love the hubs and stayed at Kings Cross recently. Big tip is fetch your own mini travel kettle - it can save the early morning (or late night) walk down to the lobby for a complimentary cuppa.
Liked the video Tim I have never heard of these before so glad you showed us was impressed with your room very nice I would stay in one of those I have not seen those advertised before
Stayed at the Hub one in Edinburgh Haymarket in October 2021, and for a couple of nights was lovely - the larger room does allow you to get round the bed, and all comfy and nice. The tea and coffee (in case anyone wondered) is from a machine downstairs in the bar with proper mugs - just fill up when you like and take it to your room - and it's Costa beans for the coffee, so all the niceness of that whenever you like. The bar is also very reasonably priced (not ripoff hotel prices at all.) I do think they're on a winner with this personally and a few more in other cities would give you more choice.
Very fancy! And unlike the easy jet hotel, you have a desk!! 🤣🤣
Right?!
Easy hotel is a different company to EasyJet 😂😂😂
This looks really good! All you need for a base in London and handy for the main line stations too. Can you get an evening meal in there as well as breakfast?
I have stayed at this hotel quite a few times. It is pretty decent and quite affordable for a London hotel. In the same building you can find an affordable pizzeria and an Asian inspired restaurant.
I really like the room--clean, cozy, and ultra-modern. I wonder how soundproof it is.
I stayed in the Brick Lane one. I was staying with my husband & I absolutely hated it. The lack of space for two of us was awful as we tried getting ready. If either of us was there on our own for work, it would have been great. But for two of us, it was really unpleasant. Especially when you had to climb over the other person to get out of bed. Also, they didn’t have any spare pillows & we had to request additional towels a few times.
I was in room 3036 at that hotel in November and loved it. I said the same thing that you did - I don't know how two people would get along there because it'd be like playing Tetris every time someone needed to move around but I am only one person. What I liked best was the quiet! Because the rooms are so small, it's not a party hotel and there are no kids running up and down the hallways. The only thing I wish they had - instead of two storage places beneath the bed (for those wondering, one is a drawer and the other is like a pull out platform), they should have a step stool. I'm not the smallest person in the world but it was hard getting up on the bed. Will definitely check some of the other locations out.
Travel to London regularly for work and absolutely love Hub's.
There's a lot of hotels trying to grab this market in London now. I feel a lot of them have cool lobby areas but then the rooms are really basic.
Hub rooms are small but they have everything you need as a solo traveller.
I’ve stayed in hubs twice and I loved the experience.
We always stop at premier inns never had a bad one that one looks delightful 😊
Ha ha
My husband and I stayed in a Hub on our trip to London in 2019. We got a bigger room for 9 nights. It was perfect for us. We stayed at the Goodge street location. Would absolutely stay at another Hub.
I stayed in one of the London locations back in 2017. Came across them through the Premierinn website and took a punt on it. Loved the experience and I agree, there should be more of these throughout the country.
If you take into consideration the LED pads on the walls and other high tec gizmos abound, you could liken it to a scene out of Star Trek, Tim. All they needed was a holo-deck and transporter... Joking aside , it was an amazing Premier Inn; and I've been in many of them. Cheers for the education 👍
It's 12: 53 A. M here, but I'll be watching first your video before 💤😴
I love your videos, Tim. Always excited to see a new upload. I’m actually in a hotel room right now, watching this. 😂
You're the best!
Great hotel. 5 minutes away from King's Cross. Really well located if you want to visit Cambridge for a day or for an Arsenal game. You check-in by yourself and also for the check-out. The standard room has more than enough space for one person and I'd say also for two people. There's a Pret just in front, so no need for breakfast. There's also a Tesco, Nando's or McDonald's in the area. If you're a runner, you're just right next to Regent's Canal. One bad point : the AC makes a sort of spray noise like every 2 minutes, even during the night, so you'll probably need earplugs if you're easily disturbed in your sleep. Otherwise, I really recommend.
They are amazing I stayed in a Premier Hub in Covent Garden and thought it was fantastic.
lol
Love a premier Inn you always know what your gonna get. Great review.
Great video Tim. All I can say about the room is....Buck Rogers!!
Lol
In the king's cross hub as I type. Went for the larger option. It's fantastic! However, nothing is left to the imagination toilet wise!!
Nice! Efficient, clean and comfy and near rail station! Thanks Tim!
Me and my partner love watching your videos ! Always new things and mixing it up keep up the work Tim 🎉
Awesome! Thank you!
Hi Tim an excellent video and thank you so much for showing us a a Hub by Premier Inn Hotel. The room looked lovely and the bed does look comfy. I would rather myself personally stay in a normal Premier Inn.
A lot of tech , very fancy , the room was really cool 👍🏻 impressed.
Like it !! Always had good stays at Premier Inns, never any complaints from me. xx
Thank you, Tim! Thanks to this review I decided to stay at the new Hub on Farringdon Road. (When I first heard of them, I thought they'd be too small.) Loved it! The staff were so friendly and helpful (sorting out minor issues quickly). The breakfast is great value at seven quid - you'd pay that for a croissant and coffee at one of the many coffee house chains. Returning to the same one with my hubby next month, so staying in one of the bigger rooms. As a general comment, I love the pace of your videos: succinct and entertaining! :) Angie (The Wide Frontier channel on RUclips).
Thanks Angie
I always stay in those when I go to London. They are simple, tidy and just what you need
I've stayed in the one by covent garden and I actually really liked it. Just for a few nights is perfect. Great price, was small but they made great use of maximising storage so it wasn't too small and the controls were fun to play with lol. Although one pet peeve was the control panel sometimes accidentally got triggered by my head/pillow when sleeping. Would be good if it was maybe by the side wall instead or if you could "lock" it out. Overall would recommend for a short stay ☺️
Love the review. I've used the Snoozebox near Pudding Mill Lane for my last couple of trips to London which are small but perfectly formed rooms made from converted shipping containers but will definitely give the Hubs a look now.
Went to a hub in West Brompton for a business trip was great to stay for just 2 days had no issues with it
Loved your Premier Inn Hub video Tim,it looked very nice and such great value for money.Thankypu for another interesting vlog.
My pleasure!
The room looks great and tempted to look at the website after your vlog Tim I picked a random Tuesday night in March for a standard room in St Martins Lane: £200... nice but not for the likes of me.
Always love my Premier Inns.
Well impressed with this pod room.
'It's the future already in the present'
Makes me want to stay in one now having seen this review.
(Pleasantly suprised you got a window too.)
I’ve stayed at Hub in Edinburgh Haymarket and in Westminster, and I love them. Superb hotels!
When travelling for short business trips, I’ve stayed in similar hotels to this in Sweden for years. Everything you need, reasonable pricing, great idea
Thanks for sharing!
@@WalkWithMeTim It was the Scandic Rubinen. Always worked for me
I booked The Hub in Spitalfields last year and enjoyed my stay. A little hack, if you book an accessible room, they're huge for not a lot more money! Free tea and coffee from the cafe/bar area too.
Thanks for the review, I just booked at their newest one opening up in Marylebone. The biggest problem is they've really gone up in price. Most are £200+ for a weekend booking. Thankfully I got mine a bit cheaper at £116.
Brilliant,I’d definitely stay there,can’t fault any thing,.i loved the carpet..thanks tim 👍
Glad you enjoyed it
I love a hub by Premier Inn. They are now my default option in London (including your Kings X one) … but I’ve also stayed at two Edinburgh ones too.
I've used the hubs in Edinburgh a lot, and I think they are fantastic. Would definitely pick the bigger room option if more than one person is in the room, or if you have a lot of luggage. You also get a full size desk, similar layout to the regular premier Inn rooms but with all the new tech of the hubs. I've not had a bad experience yet!
I've stayed at the Rose Street one a couple of times, and am due to stay there in May. For my first stay, back in 2019, to check it out, I was very impressed, and I only paid around £120 for four nights. In some respects, I actually prefer them to a normal Premier Inn. Shame their prices have risen astronomically though, and they seemed to have forgotten what their USP was.
Do you get a king sized bed?
@@jasonantigua6825 yes you do 👍
@@Bungle2010 yeah it is a shame. Rose street is worth it considering the location, and having a Travelodge directly across the road that is almost the same price and definitely no where near as clean or comfortable. Haymarket is always a little cheaper and not really that far out of the way if you are looking to save a bit of money too 👍
@@Misslittlelouder I ended up not going in May in the end, and postponing until September due to the rail disruption. I did check out the reviews for the nearby Travelodge a while ago and they didn't look that great. Everyone was saying the Hub is superior. The Haymarket site is a little out of the way for me. One of the main things I like about Rose Street is its central location and easy access to everything. It's only a short walk from the station, and from the Royal Mile. I also know a couple of nice pubs a short walk away, which I frequent for meals. Previously I've stayed at the Best Western Bruntsfield, which is also out of the way. It's a very nice hotel, but a long way from everthing.
Glad you got a review of one of these in. Would be good to compare the larger hub rooms vs this one. Interesting that location also had rooms in 2 levels of basement as well!
