For me, some of the Peronoceras specimens I'd put at the top, mostly because I have yet to get a really good one myself. Liam of Forgotten Fossils did a top 10 and, whilst I would normally go for an ammonite because they are my favourites, it was hard to look past the crocodile skull. Happy New Year and I hope the numbers keep going up for you next year and maybe you can add Ilminster and Charmouth/Lyme trips to the channel!
Liam's Croc skulls are worthy of envy and deserving of a top spot in a find of the year. Maybe only being beaten by full skeletons or plesiosaur/pliosaur bits. I can't rate my ammonites vs the vertebrate stuff I collected this year. It'll be interesting to see what I find next year and whether I can do a proper top 10 next year! I'd love to do more south coast stuff. My first fossil hunting trips ever were Charmouth but sadly most of those collections were not great and have undergone pyrite disease and crumbled. Be nice to get back! Happy New year!
Thanks! Worked perfectly for my little office space although the downside is that I've almost filled them all in 2023. If 2024 is half as good I'll be having to do some negotiating with my wife! Hope you have a great 2024 on the coast collecting and maybe we can do a trip at some point!
@dinoskool it's amazing how much you can fit in them - I have just got to full capacity after 4 years and am getting a bit of bespoke shelving to extend over my wall space. No doubt we will bump into each other at some point- you are down ravenscar more than I am 😆😂🤣
I definitely need to do a bit of tidying with mine and sort some stands to better display things but it is crazy how quickly you can fill them! I have no doubt I'll bump into you soon enough. Would like some of your luck on the Porpoceras though for next time I'm down Ravenscar way
