The Bible is for all.... God created language, all of them. Good point about the apostles being able to miraculously speak in any language needed to spread the gospel to those whose language was neither Hebrew nor Greek. God providentially preserved his word, and it's by the same providence we have the Bible correctly translated and transliterated into possibly every language.
If people knew what the original Hebrew scribes went through to insure accuracy of their copying from the original scrolls; and if they knew what those who translated and transliterated from the Hebrew to the Greek to English went through, they would have an entirely different outlook as to biblical accuracy.
People like William Tyndale who gave us the first English translation from Hebrew and Greek... It from his English translation we have the King James Version of the bible...the Bible is the most accurately translated book the world has that spans the years it does. It's also one of the very few works of history written close to the events of which it depicts.
It is probably the only book written that covers the amount of time it does that has no contradictions and it's historical accuracy never proven wrong.
With all this and its being GOD BREATHED, many choose to believe other man written and man inspired history books...written thousands of years removed from the events they cover, with their writers having no first, second or third-hand knowledge of the events of which they write..also of which many over time have been proven to be inaccurate.
    Go figure

"Anti-isms" are division(s) issues created within the congregations of the church of Christ.
"Anti" is a reference term given to the congregations who are "anti" in what they believe the "liberal" congregations practice.
      Examples:
      Anti-potlucks in the church building.
Anti-support of orphanages with church offerings.
      Anti-children's Bible class.
      Anti-Bible class.
Anti-Support of Bible television shows produced by churches of Christ with church offerings.
Anti-benevolence for non-members of the congregation.
There are many other "anti" things the "anti" disaprove of.

      @@ronnym1977:
      Thank you for the response.
      1. I understand the importance of congregational autonomy, and if a congregation wishes not to serve meals in a building, then it is their business. So I guess to call them “anti’s” because of this practice would be rather childish.
      2. The congregational support or orphanages being unscriptural I would have to agree with. Simply because we receive direct command, example or inference from the Bible concerning church disciplines and practices, and I have yet to find any scripture telling a congregation to use offerings for that purpose. But I do see individual command/example/inference within verses like James 1:27 and Jesus telling people to share within Luke 3:9-11. Individual instruction but not congregational/church instruction (ie Ac 20:7).
      3. The mention of no children’s Bible class. Even Christ sat with little children in Mar 10:13-16. Sooo????
      4. No support of Bible television shows? As long as the TV show is actually evangelizing, then why not?
      5. Anti-benevolence of non-members of the church, I totally agree with. Again, no mention of the church doing this, it’s always individual members responsibility. The church is to help saints, not non-saints (see Ac 6:1 then see Ac 2:45 “had need”, Ac 4:34-37 “had need”).
What we must study is the traditions of man verses the word of God (Mt 15:1-9).
But I’ll be honest, if a church is referred to as an “anti” because they’re against sin (1Jo 3:4), then I want to be an “anti” too!

What I responded first are things I found out after 21 years in His church.
I had never heard of the "anti" or the "anti" congregations label given to the "liberal" congregations. I was flabbergasted when I heard of these issues that caused division, I simply had no idea!
If one was to give a title to the congregation(s) I was part of then I guess it would be "liberal."
The reason I know this is because I have a friend who married a member of an "anti" congregation and he and his sister informed me I wasn't a member of a "real church of Christ." So, I studied with them and others from the congregation they attended and is all they talked about was the "liberal" congregations and all the wrong things they practiced (they also seemed to have this uncanny ability to condemn others to Hell!)
I found this talk to be very hateful and unproductive and I no longer participate in such idle chatter.
Keep reminding God's people of these things. Warn them before God against quarreling about words; it is of no value, and only ruins those who listen. Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth. Avoid godless chatter, because those who indulge in it will become more and more ungodly.
      II Timothy 2:14-16
      Blessings,
      In Him
BTW, My friend and her husband were divorced and are no longer faithful.

The Bible itself authorize translations. The Hebrew OT was translated into Greek--that translation is called the Septuagint or LXX. The LXX is quoted in various places in the NT instead of the Hebrew OT. For instance Hebrews 11:21 is a quotation from the LXX and not from the Hebrew OT. Thus inspired men quoted from directly from the LXX. That makes translations of the Bible acceptable by inspiration. The LXX is also quoted by Paul in Rom 12:20, 1 Cor 15:32, 2 Cor 6:2 and various other places. The very name for the Son of God, JESUS, was used in the LXX for Joshua. Since inspiration quoted from a translation of the original text, translations are acceptable to inspiration.

and you are wrong regarding 1 Tim 4:1... this falling away... is referring to those who were once in the faith... but this faith they were in.. was a faith of their own contrivance... Not one that God wished for them.. so they went to church professed they believed in Jesus. .they had a pseudo faith.. and then Got angry with God ..gave God up.. this is a form of blatant apostasy... those who truly love God.. would never fall away from Him.. God is Not an "Indian Giver"...
case in point God told Abraham to sacrifice Isaac... if Abraham refused.. would he have been righteous before God...?.. Could Abraham refuse?.. was it in Abraham's character to refuse God? ..the ones who are once saved always saved are those who like Abraham live for God... God is their All.. anyone who is a true child of God.. places God before friends family or life..
God is the air that they breathe.. sadly you are correct.. once saved always saved is not applicable to those Not fitting that criteria...but there are definitely some.. the Chosen ones... such as Abraham.. that even the gates of hell shall Not prevail against them..... don't make a sham of something simply because you do not think it is possible..
and to any that fall away?. they weren't truly saved in the first place.. not like I am....

@@ronnym1977 I still don't see where you are going with this. You mentioned several churches of Christ. However, the Lord promised to build only ONE body (church).
Jesus Christ is seen as the "head" of the body, which is the church. There is only ONE faith Eph. 4:5. Therefore, just because a building carries the name Church of Christ as you have already mentioned, doesn't necessarily mean it is faithful to Christ.
For example, my wife carries my last name to identify herself of me. But for instance if she decided to have an affair would only result of her being unfaithful. The same goes for identifying the Lords church. There are such things as liberal churches of Christ that are in error to the truth. Doesn't mean they all are !

    Rev_1:4 John to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace be unto you, and peace, from him which is, and which was, and which is to come; and from the seven Spirits which are before his throne;
Rev_1:11 Saying, I am Alpha and Omega, the first and the last: and, What thou seest, write in a book, and send it unto the seven churches which are in Asia; unto Ephesus, and unto Smyrna, and unto Pergamos, and unto Thyatira, and unto Sardis, and unto Philadelphia, and unto Laodicea.
Rev_1:20 The mystery of the seven stars which thou sawest in my right hand, and the seven golden candlesticks. The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches: and the seven candlesticks which thou sawest are the seven churches.

Great question! The Bible teaches that there is one church (Ephesians 1:22-23, 4:4). The Bible doesn't contradict itself, so what do the verses you mentioned refer to? Also Colossians 4:16, which references the church of the Laodiceans versus the church of Colossae.
The answer to this question is actually quite simple. The word 'church' is used in two different ways: one use refers to the kingdom that God has set aside ('called out' is the literal meaning of ekklesia, the Greek word translated as church). There is only one of these- only one body of Christ. However, this body is scattered across the world. There are members of this body in many different locations. The will of God is that these congregations be autonomously governed by an eldership (Titus 1:5). These congregations would gather on the first day of the week to partake of the Lord's Supper (Acts 20:7). This is the second use of the word 'church'. It can be properly used to refer to an individual gathering of Christians. The 'church of the Thessalonians' was the body of Christians that lived in Thessalonica (1 Thessalonians 1:1). Paul referred to the church of the Ephesians as "the saints who are in Ephesus, and faithful in Christ Jesus" (Ephesians 1:1). So, while there is only one 'church' (the people of God across the world, 1 Peter 2:9), there are individual 'churches'- specific congregations of the Lord's church. I hope this helps!
