I know this video is 8 years old but I am new to machine quilting and this tutorial was AMAZING. Even I was able to finish a binding with perfect corners. Thank you soooo much. Will be returning to this video is the future.

One of the Best Tutorials! Stitching in the ditch with a flange is the best idea for machine binding. ❤and you sound like a great lady!

Hey I am a new sew-er (3 months) and I understood all she said! Thank you for this great video. I've been searching for a binding video for a couple of days now. I will be referring back to this many times. Great job!!

You are calm, easy to understand, and just cheeky enough to keep me entertained! This is a beautiful tutorial and beautiful binding as a result! I love when you're not even meaning to you are smiling - really shows your passion for the art of sewing! Thank you

Oh goodness! All you negative nancies, keep it to yourselves and scroll on! This tutorial is to help Sew-ers who are already sewing, not beginners who would not understand terminology 💫. I believe it's an excellent tute, well presented, clear language. I can see a lot of thought went into preparation. Thankyou I'm earmarking it for future reference.

I've only put the binding on completely by machine before once and I normally like doing the back by hand while watching tv but the method you demonstrated with the flange is great! I'm doing a QoV and a wall hanging and will use that 1/4" gap between the ends of the strips to get a better line. I'm also going to try putting it on the back first and then using the invisible thread. I used that several times when quilting my table mats and table runners for this last Christmas's gifts. Thank you!

Love the flange idea! If I ever decide to machine stitch my binding on, this is what I will do! I am one of those weird people who love to sit in the recliner, listening to a movie, and hand stitching my binding! lol

This technique has changed the way I will do binding forever! No more sore fingers and endless hours wrestling with my quilt on the couch while I hand turn one stitch at a time. Thank you for sharing. Just finished my first quilt using this technique and it worked beautifully!

"Seriously" difficult, no wonder you suggested long stitches to join the binding ends - but, its also quite rewarding. Love this method...on my second try it worked, perfectly. I'm so happy. Thanks to you and Susie. Well, I think YOU ARE a smartie, Aunt Marti...:)

Loved the video! Very clear and easy to understand. It will definitely be my go-to reference when binding. Susie is a genius. And as if the video couldn't get any better, a Corgi makes an appearance! Oh my! It can't get any better than that! My Corgi has a mini sofa in my sewing room, and his favorite place is beside me while I sew.

That was absolutely AMAZING! Excellent job, well put together. Easy to follow even if the word perimeter wasn't used, I got what you meant as a beginner quilter. Because I was highly interested in what you were teaching I didn't pay attention to the lightly played music in the background. Some will complain no matter what just know you hit your goal of teaching this binding technique and it was simple enough this beginner understood all the way through. God bless and will watch for others you've done. Thank you!

I ran across your video while looking for binding for a Hawaiian quilt wall hanging that has been begging to be finished for a few years. Unfortunately, for me, my dining table is my only work surface. But I was determined to use this technique. The ending was really difficult. My sewing machine has such a small working area. I ended up doing it my hand. I was pushing myself to get it done NOW and I think I made it hard on myself. I will stop after work tonight to get the mono-poly thread. You are a marvelous teacher. Thank you very much for posting this. One more comment, I found the background music distracting.

Loved it. I will use Suzi's Magic Binding and will show it to my friends who hate hand stitching the bindings of their quilts too. I look forward to more of your videos and will re-watch this one until have the process and my notes complete and correct. Of course I will do the easy tear out stitches everytime because even when I do corners repeatedly the 45 degree angle does not always come out correctly, Again thank you for the great info.
