This was actually immensely useful and helpful. I appreciate this review tremendously. I've been staring at the voices checkout screen for hours contemplating. The price tag being so hefty was definitely one of the deciding factors to do some more digging.
Thank you so much for this video!! It felt a little "too good to be true" kind of setup until I saw the premium price! I appreciate the detailed info and showing the actual site and navigating it. Super helpful
hi fangirl this video was sooooo helpful, i had been considering being a voice actor (for video games) for a while now but hadn't really looked into it to much, but I'm definitely going to check out that link for casting club. hope you are well and i look forward to more videos from you. xx
I'm glad it was helpful! I was so mad that I paid hundreds of dollars for Voices.com and to have it be so useless behind the curtains - I want to warn everyone that I can!
Thanks for the information! I'd love to see a "One year later" follow-up on how you've progressed with all these voice over sites. I'm just getting started and am joining all of these - what have you learned and what advice do you have to offer to Newbies today?
Super useful/relevant content. I appreciate the work. It would be awesome if you could do another review later on how convenient is the return compared to what you invest. --May be you just pay all that money and don’t get even half what you paid -there’s no investment.
Thanks for this. Direct to the point review. So basically its not great for rookie voice over. It's smothered by paywall. Dodged a large bullet here. They have very active marketing tho but try it with risk.
Terrific review! I've been doing vo work for years and between there being a glut of vo talant and now we have AI, (which I think will soon put us all out work), and then you have those that were first to the platforms and are "kings/queens of the mountain. I feel a noob can still get & do vo work but the price you pay in $ time and effort is just no worth it. But hey...you might just fall in the right puddle but that's a real long shot.
Kind of makes me sad that they are Canadian. They are actually in the same city I live in. I’ve been getting into VO work and this is yet another video on how bad they are.
It's been a few years now, so I just logged in to check - if you have a free account, you ONLY see jobs you are personally invited to apply for (so the company paid to mass spam everyone with the job and they'll likely get thousands of applicants).
If you are in a city that accommodates recording booths and production companies, then certainly go the agent route! But if you're just starting out and working from home, these sites are a fair way to go.

If you still want to do this it's $99 for Black Friday
@@brownsongbirdon Black Friday it was $99 for how many months? Just one month?
I wish more people would see this video before starting. Thank you so much.

Thank you so much for this honest and helpful review. I was just about to sign up and as a newbie I can't dish out that kind of money.

Thank you soo much!
subscribed! So helpful plus your voice is easy to listen to
Thanks, was thinking about using them but $500 is a lot to not know if anything will happen…
Wow, thank you so much for taking the time to make this video. I feel like I just dodged a bullet.

20% commission after already dishing out almost $500 just to even be able to audition. Ridiculous
yeah...
Lmao this generation thinks everything is free 😂😂😂

Thank you so much for this
Did you ever get any job offers?
I’ve done a lot of work on CCC, but for my paid year on Voices.com I booked zero jobs and made $0.
Thank you for this video. I also am trying to become a voice actor for animation for I love making character voices.
thank you for being so honest really for those of those who cant reall afford it
Thank you! Glad I didn't pay for it, gonna try other platforms.
Thanks for this

Well explained ❤️
Sounds about right. It's a money grab.
Please do a 1 year update

I've been wanting to try voices.com, but since I saw this, I've decided to keep away from it. Thank you :)
What's your mic, audio mixer, studio set up
It's been a minute since I recorded this, but I'm pretty sure it was a Blue Snowball with ScreenFlow and edited in Final Cut Pro X. Hope that helps!
thank you!
SOOO helpful!
glad i saw this before paying it i dont think its worth it
In my opinion, it's really not!
What do you get with the free guest option?

@@TheFanily are you allowed to audition for those?
500 a year is absurd
What happened to There, I Read It?
Can I get a refund on my
Money.
I don’t think so, but you can try to talk to their customer service.
Wow thank you for sharing this site is Ridiculous!
I am feeling like I was stolen
Thanks for saving me the money from this scam. Im sorry you had to waste your money.
How did the rest of the year go?
I've had a lovely with with CCC, but I never got any jobs from Voice.com - a few favorited auditions, but never even a request for a second audition.
@@TheFanily sorry to hear that.
The best way to do voice overs is with an AGENT.
If you are in a city that accommodates recording booths and production companies, then certainly go the agent route! But if you're just starting out and working from home, these sites are a fair way to go.
