People who just know music are effectively wizards to me. And Sid just hearing it out and getting there just floors me. It's so cool that he knew he got it.
I mean, there wasn't a lot to "decipher". They basically had to figure out the first note, then where the scale started for the next 8 notes (which were all in sequence), and then figure out the last one (i.e., was it the same, slightly higher or slightly lower). They didn't have to play them at the right speed or anything. I definitely don't have perfect pitch (and I don't play any instruments), but I'm pretty sure I would have managed to do it in 5 or 6 tries by asking Mike to repeat the sequence and focusing on one of those three notes each time. I think it was a pretty fair task even for people who don't know music.
@@RFC3514i would have never gotten 100% right knowing that it was right. I might get close, I might do it by chance, but I would have never gotten an idea if I was right or not. So to me, what she did was impressive. And we had 3 other kids try it also and fail.

As an american, I love the varieties of British accents, but nothing will beat the accent of a Scottish child, lol. PS: Mike is so perfect for this role.
He's got a rock star name to begin with, and all of the personality to make it into reality as well. Really enjoyed seeing such a witty and fun kid! I really wish him well on his ways, but am sad that we won't have him in the finals of this show. But I'm sure this wasn't the last we've seen of him.
This show is so great. Loved seeing the kids being so inventive and supportive of one another. Even their insults are of course done with creative kindness. Love how this show celebrates individuality and so fun to see their minds at work. Totally as enjoyable as the grown up Taskmaster. Well done All! I think all these kids are total winners and will go far in life, great attitudes toward challenges, very inspiring.
I sort of wish they did an episode of just 9 year olds. Because 9-11 turns out to be enough of an age gap to matter, and I'd love to see some of the younger kids again.
Not just the age gap, it is around the strange age where people can be randomly twice as big as others. In fact the same kids can end up twice as big if the production of a show takes too long.

Spoiler… Not going to lie, as August kept talking about how smart he was, and Olivia was so gracious in congratulating others on their task wins, I was really hoping the tie-breaker would go the other way.
Bro, it's one thing to do this with adult professionals, but a whole other thing to police kids on their tone like this 😭. This is their first time in tv, none of them probably even really understand how many people are going to watch this. Before dissing these kids you don't know on how kind and mature they are, practice that yourself.
Olivia was such a gracious contestant!! She did really well in her tasks but I love how supportive she was of everyone else--including Mike, when she refused to insult him and she was only mean specfically to his belt. Sid also had an incredible attitude--and was so subtly hilarious. Calling Mike by his full name got me every time. I'm glad they included the music task so that Sid got a winning moment.
She was so utterly serious about inviting him on a picnic to hang out, when the format of the show encourages the kids to (gently) abuse him. I really enjoyed her.
I've enjoyed all the episodes but these five specifically were the best hands down. I would've watched an entire season of them they are phenomenal just wow 😂😮🎉
All of these kids have been wonderful, and while I disagree with some of the scoring I look forward to how they handle the semis and ultimately the final. Some of them have bright futures in entertainment if they decide to go that route.
