Don't be too hard on the guide, he's just riding with a friend who's capable of riding the white line, he knows what his friend is capable of, he's not working with a client as a guide that day.
@@vegasstacker3857 I'm not saying the guide is garbage, he showed off some good trails, but when the spring overgrowth swallows trails, there are certain ones that would be favorable to skip. As I mentioned below Skanks and DB would be on that skip list, Upper Animal to Lower G or Fence line would have been more appropriate, guide or friend.
My buddy just sent me your video. First off props to you for hitting all of those trails in 1 day that's a ton of miles. Simi is one of my favorite places to ride. Grudge and Dirty Bird are my 2 favorite trails there. I'm stoked you got to ride it but I'm bummed you didn't have a good experience. The next time youre in LA hit me up. I also have a MTB channel. Im pretty bad with directions but I always roll deep with guys who know the trails. You have the skills to hit everything that you walked but I know it's intimidating to hit gnarly stuff blind. If you're still in LA hit me up, I will guide you down Mt Wilson it's probably the best trail in So Cal.
Oh man, keeping it real. I don’t blame you for wanting to inspect gnarly features beforehand- I’m the same way. Soundtrack was on point for all the feels. ✌️
Austen Czapla - what do you think is the best trail to ride there. Also what’s the best trial rout to take to get the best/most trials in one day there. Do u have a Strava link that I can use for your favorite rout?
Nice riding Eric. I have to be honest, that dude's guiding skills need some work. He shouldn't be assuming you guys want to just send every feature he thinks is doable without giving you a good chance to look them over and decide for yourself. Great video as always!
I work as a guide and I was thinking the same at the first minute...I never ever would take a first lap with a guy and lost him in the first 10 meters of trail or ride so fast the guy is 100% to keep in contact with me. But every human has a day...you know...You can´t loose the focus on the people,I prefer to be 100% cautious and never get a chance to someone get hurt.

As someone who has been sponsored in the automotive world, only support products you believe in. You are as valuable to them as they are to you. Sometimes companies who support you produce something that’s not 100%. It’s on you to tell them so they can correct it. And I can tell you right now if my front fork squealed like that I would be chatting with the sponsor ASAP. I’ve ridden many different forks and NONE of them make that noise. Suntour needs to make that right. But I would have soured on that ride as well, it did not end on a high which happens but still sucks. Your ridding is super solid, I would have scoped those drops out as well.
Nasty trail at the end. I understand you wanting to look before you leap. That's what keeps you from stupid injuries. Plus you had a dolphin in your backpack. lol

Let me set the scene. It’s 1:53am I’m waking up at 7am to ride, I’m already getting myself in the mindset after working on my bike all night, I shower and drink some milk with cookies before bed, but before I go to sleep I have to watch one of Eric or Yukas videos for confidence and this 2 year old video was recommended before I even searched it. Here I am, enjoying the riding.
That was the most amazing thing to see. I love the speed and the scenery. Years ago, I used to take my dog on hikes up there. It was hot and I was out of shape (as usual), but both the dog and I really enjoyed it. Brings back great memories.
FWIW I literally just rode w Scott. I hired him for a 3 hour rip and it was more fun than I’ve had on a bike in ages. Can’t recommend him enough.
