Hi mate, is this the same for the 2.5? I read on forums about it with the m54 and about to order a new oil filter housing and gasket just not sure if it is this. It’s leaking from that area and running down and quite a lot - 1-2L a week
Awesome! I've never owned one (until now) but definitely worth saving I think! Great fun to drive and a solid engine if given the love it deserves! Lots more videos in the pipes stay tuned 😜👍
Just bought one of these too. Maldives blue E85 3.0i manual, same wheels as yours, probably the best offered from factory. Really nice cars. Will also do a full service, then upgrade tyres, discs, pads and fluid in preparation for some track days. Looking around for lighter wheels and a fruity exhaust too.
Awesome, I've since taken those wheels off and replaced with some 19's but I've kept the elipsoids and not sure if I should put them back on or not yet. 19's look better but 18's handle better I think. Big difference in tyre cost to consider too 🤔
@@n8green Have you seen the elipsoidal wheels with 15mm rear and 12mm front wheel spacers? Looks good. 19's look epic but think I'm going to go for some lightweight 18's and keep the OEM 18's for winter use. Lighter wheels make a pretty big difference with handling, braking and speed too. I'll be burning through expensive tyres as well and want the extra forgiveness from a taller tyre. Mine has some decent coilovers which help the 18's fill the arches.
@@RJPhotographics spacers are a good shout. I've just put some adjustable coilovers on too - vid incoming! A few more jobs to do then when spring finally gets here I'll do a track day or two then will be looking for the next project. Maybe 18's are the way to go!
Thank you for posting and I look forward to your continuing escapades. Please use a decent torque wrench, you can get a small one for the little bolts, otherwise, you will be making more work for yourself
From what I understand, you can actually unbolt the panels off it, there are a lot of videos from the United States with young people doing this to Cars that I’ve got into the state
Yep everything painted unbolts with one small exception - the 'A' Pillars either side of the windscreen. Some panels harder to unbolt than others mind!
Great video Nate - looking forward to the next episodes!
Great video. The leak at the front could possibly be oil filter housing very common and easy job to do.
Thank you! I'll have a closer look at this. It's a job I had to do on my Mini too - must be a BMW thing 😅

Nice vid Nate. Car looks good. Looking forqsrd to watching the build! 😊
Big man, nice one, I just got myself a black 3.0Si manual, looking forward to see the progress on yours so I can find courage to start on mine.
Yes! Awesome. I don't know what I'm doing but I'll probably figure it out
how much did you get it for ?
You’ve just saved one of my favourite cars, and probably saved another if your videos are strong enough for me to do one up myself

Good on you for saving it from being scrapped.
Thanks, yeah some cars don't deserve the scrapyard and I this is one of them IMO. It's come a long way since this video!
Great vid mate I’ll be following on,I also am about to buy a 03 3ltr manual z4 in silver for pennies as it was going for scrap 😊
Do itttt! Well worth saving these cars I think. Lots of fun and relatively easy to work on. More content incoming stay tuned and good luck!
@@n8green bought it today my god what a machine, love at first site

Great series
Nice posts Nate… I have a Sterling grey 3.0 Z4… just noticed my hood motor has packed in, so sh1tty job ahead!!
New sub!! 👌🏻
Yeah I'm definitely grateful the hood seems to (mostly) work properly! Looks like a real pain of a job. Thanks for the sub! 😀
I had loads of problem's with my Z4 roof. I ended up converting it to a manual roof using genuine BMW parts..easy to do. Roof down in 2 seconds.

Yep, learned my lesson the hard way here!
