Your channel has quickly become one of my favorites. The quality of the content compared to the sub/view count is crazy, I consider myself very lucky to have found your channel and look forward to seeing your channel grow
I remember your video on "Red Mages only". This really looks like a far more managable challenge run than with red mages only. After all, you have access to equipment one the main continent and access to high level spells. It shows Red Mages were never scaled for endgame and only for the early game.
I mean you got a one-use canoe, broken airship, a boat, broken airship again, zoomies airship, zoomies submarine, big airship. It isn't that much right i mean the engineers gotta be one of those Gold guy's rich friends
Neat thing about the Elder Staff. The devs of the 3D version knew it was bad so they made it cast Cura instead. They also made it so that the Earth Crystal grants the Ninja and Sage jobs making Magus and Devout kinda irrelevant. I would recommend playing the 3D version at least once, but it is very difficult.
In the NES version the final four bosses have like 30k HP each, in this one they all have the DS HP values of 100k, nevermind you do way less damage in the Pixel version.
At least it didn't give Cloud of Darkness the same attack pattern from the DS version. Having three targets instead of one made the final boss stupidly hard, especially given that it's after 5 other bosses back to back.
White Mage only in FFV is kind of infamous for its truly awful start. Followed by a mostly free run, that takes forever even without counting the many element-shifting bosses. So yeah, feel free to dodge that bullet. Nice to see FF3 being mostly functional. All white mages being a bad choice rather than a painful mistake.
Can you find a challenge that includes FF mystic quest? Obviously not for this series but nobody remembers it and I think it would be neat. Keep up the great videos, you're doing awesome
Oh, I'd love to do that. Mystic Quest is such an interesting game with a lot of unique design decisions. No idea what challenges would even work in that game. I'll have to give it some thought.
I assume you already did FF12 and are just working on the video, but I wonder if fighting the optional esper in the caves would've been worth it for one character having Souleater... or if it was worth it.
I've played this game since the original Famicom version and while I absolutely love it, there are some super annoying things about it. * The stat leveling is even more annoying than FFII. (At least in FFII you knew when you were going to get a strength or defense buff.) * An over-reliance on healing herbs / items until the end of the game. Esuna should be like a Level 3-4 spell, NOT LEVEL 7... * The developers kind of lost the plot once you got off the Floating Continent... the first playthrough I did, I made it to Saronia and got controller rage after that. * You really have to grind to get through the end game (it is common for me to make it to the Crystal Tower at level 25-30 in the original game, but if I don't grind I always get rekt in the Dark World). And to answer your question about the palette swap bosses: yes, it was totally a memory-saving move. This was one of the highest-capacity Famicom cartridges in terms of memory usage, and I'm confident it's part of the reason it never got localized; it would have been too hard to make an English script work. The only reason that we are able to play these games in English today is because of (in the case of emulation) script expansion, which makes the ROM bigger, or (in the case of remakes) a totally different engine which doesn't have the limitations of the original hardware.

i love that you actually get what's wrong with ff3's final section

God i always forget how many airships you get in this game. It feels like every 3rd boss gives you a new one
It indeed has a comical number of airships. At least the 2 you end the game with are distinct in what you use them for.
I mean you got a one-use canoe, broken airship, a boat, broken airship again, zoomies airship, zoomies submarine, big airship. It isn't that much right i mean the engineers gotta be one of those Gold guy's rich friends
Well technically, the nautilus needs 2, and the invincible doesn't need any.
Could have had an air barrier you needed to upgrade the ship for. Nope, you get mobile healing grind ship.
I was halfway through the video when i realized you werent talking about a spell called ARROW which i'd never heard of before 😭
Aero actually.
It's effective against birds, so same thing really.
A R R O W G A
Yeah, not super clear why final fantasy decided to call it Aero instead of just... wind or something. They didn't get creative with fire or blizzard.
I was just sharing your last White Mage only video with my brother. What luck, a new one!
Very fun to see how bonkers holy can be. I feel that is just the XiV whitemage rotation cure then spam holy.
You must know these games inside out and back to front by now. Great videos I really enjoy your sense of humor and delivery.
Wow, It was easier than expected. Congratz!
The final fantasy 5 only White mages run must be...really...something 😅
I have some opinions about the FF5 run. We'll get to it. lol
Thank you for doing this run!! Yeah I don’t understand the airship puzzle.
As someone that runs this game, I was waiting for this video!
another fun video to watch cant wait for the ff12 video
Spite at FF3, especially after your past few endeavors with the game, feels well earned.

You can skip the Doga&Unei Fight to unlock the earrh Crystal Jobs early
Interesting. I'll need to keep that in mind as that could be very useful in future runs.
Sometimes spite is the answer

Hope this isnt just suffering...
A pleasant surprise that nope, despite my complaining, it actually wasn't too bad.

@@Xephrost_Gaming I would guess Low% (while banning Cure on the final boss) is probably the only real challenge in Mystic Quest
