      @@numan6959 I agree he stayed too long but to say he would have failed elsewhere is wrong.
      He turned down Madrid, Juve, England etc to stay at arsenal.
      He could have left on multiple occasions to bigger clubs with bigger budgets and won more so put a bit of respect on his name.
      At the time of leaving he had managed arsenal for 12% of its history and won 35% of arsenal's trophy haul.

      To be fair it was known that £40m would have done to seal the deal so why everyone is having their knickers in a twist I don't understand. £40m and 1penny is more than £40m so what's the deal?

    • @gunndecagon271
      @gunndecagon271 2 года назад

      What I'm confused about is whether or not it was a release clause and not some sort or verbal agreement between Suarez and Liverpool.. if it was a release clause then there is no insult it is perfectly valid to bid £40m and a penny but if somehow it was a verbal agreement that £40m would be what the club was prepared to listen to for Suarez's signature then perhaps you can see why Liverpool felt offended but in either case Liverpool should have stuck to their word with the player when a £40m & 1p bid came in even if they felt a bit insulted.

    It does my head in when other fans especially those of other clubs say we did not show him the respect he deserved. I stuck with him during the Wenger out years and like any Arsenal fan Ive ever met love the man and rate him as the finest manager to grace the lge and produced the finest team and changed English football - *but* we went through the same pain he did and we were always 1-2 players off challenging for the title year after year - this may have been down to the club but we were sold a dream when we went to the Emirates that we would be up there with the top 5 eauropean clubs while our best players left and we got hammered in the champions league... also while I could never say a bad word for Wenger he was stubborn.. we had the opportunity to get Cesc back and we didn't and he went on to win trophies with Chelsea, the 8-2 at Utd and the 5-0 at Munich , 69th minute subs when losing- situations like this let us all down and our European records in the latter years speak for themselves - unfortunately it was time to go but we'll all have those glory days and the best team in the world to aspire to thanks to him... my jury was out on Arteta but I'm fully backing him - he is enstilling the right culture back in to the ckub albeit slowly but I'm starting to see the project

    We’ve known for yrs that David Dein being push out at Arsenal was a massive loss, also that Arsene was swamped by the work load being left to run the entire club without support while there was politics (massive infighting) amongst the board it’s great to have that Confirmed! That infighting was over the direction of the club & its ownership which ultimately lead to the Kroenke’s & not Usmanov or the continuation of the status quo we all know now certain board members (Hillwood etc) had their bias’s (the famous statement of “we don’t want his kind here’” ) also they started to see the massive payday they were in for selling their shares. Listening to fans? What does a fan know? Look at the months spent slagging off the summer signings, especially Ramsdale & White. Fans, like the media, have too much to say without anything on their CV to justify it. They don’t train or work with the players and have never even managed a Sunday side! Always makes me laugh. Sure we are entitled to opinions but we have to remember real football is nothing like a computer game or just picking even players. That’s why Arteta smashed the summer signings while fans cried on their blogs.
