Yes- but I personally cannot recommend it. Feel free to do it, but I just don’t want to be responsible for any issues. Plus- you want the most secure fit between your switch and pcb. When it comes to hotswap you’re far more likely to secure that flush fit!

I don’t believe anyone’s done it long term so I can’t guarantee it’ll be solid forever. You also have to consider that different switches have different pin sizes, which means that different switches will have different fits. Lastly, even after just 2 days I was experiencing instability and switches coming out of place- not something I’d recommend for daily use. A plate ensures a secure and flush fit between the switch and pcb- instability and poor fits will lead to alterations and inconsistencies in sound. I strive to ensure that my audience os only recommended optimal solutions, and plateless hotswap is far from optimal. However, if you wanna do it then go for it! If the benefits outweighs the risks for you then it might be worth it! It’s fairly easy to swap back to a plate anyways if things go wrong.
What’s the issue with Kailh switch molds? I’ve only used Box Jade’s, and those are one of the more popular clickies and are also used stock by nearly everyone. Never really found any issues with them (other than being 3-pin, which is silly, but ok)
Hey, do you think the keycaps in the bundle matches nicely and are of nice quality (Minimal Shine, Sharp legends)? Also which plate would you recommend for a thockier sound, I'm using tactiles and am stuck between fr4 or pom.

That exploded layout on arrow keys is ugly and unnecessary... I can't believe anyone genuinly has any issue finding arrow keys if they were not 'exploded'. Hard pass.

Akeynote made a video on the board showing that 5 pin switches have no problem staying on the PCB so hot-swap is definitely an option

It’s just bc the stems and keycap are tight fits, this usually doesn’t happen!

Kailh is known for making really scratchy switches!

It had a very chalky finish, which was off putting. Pc can have a similar feel, but this one was just odd. However this is a matter of preference!

They're really good for the price! The sound is going to hinge more on the foam than the plates imo
