    SOMETHING IMPORTANT I MISSED! Qwertykeys does not encourage hotswap plate-less and will not sell Hotswap pcb's without plates. If you have little experience with this it would be in your best interest to buy a soldered PCB if you want plate-less. 👍👍👍😘😀 Also, it’s NICEpbt not ebpt Vasilisa. I really like how you're doing your soundtests, breaking the different sounds out with infographics to show what's going on at a glance.
    I just jumped in on the GB but one issue I had was the inconsistency of how QK has done the photos. Different colors are using different quality and composition of photos, for example the grey shows the front, back and inside of the case without caps but the blue only shows the front view with caps. The blue looks good but without being able to see it in the same light and position I was torn between these two colors and the photos of the grey were more confidence inspiring.

    • @Akeynote
      @Akeynote  Год назад +1

      Just so your aware I made a correction on this. QK actually doesn’t sell the hotswap pcb by itself because they actually don’t support hotswap plateless. So this will be done at your own risk. They offer the solder pcb for plateless. I agree with everything your saying tho lol

    • @ImOnMy116
      @ImOnMy116 Год назад

      @@Akeynote thank you, yep, totally makes sense! I have only done soldered half plates/plateless builds myself, but could conceive that certain switches that were tight enough in the hotswap sockets could work plateless, particularly if the pcb itself is fairly stiff. The QK PCBs seemingly aren’t super soft even with the flex cuts, but it’s great they’re offering the plateless option on an entry level board. Just a question, this would be my first custom keyboard (if I buy it ofc) and I don’t really know what’s the difference between plates so I was planning on buying plate less but at the same time I wanted the wireless hotswap version so I need a plate. • @Akeynote
      @Akeynote  Год назад

      I would recommend fr4 since it seems the most versatile for me. The different plates will change the softness and sound a bit. Hardest to softness will be Alu, FR4, pom, pc, plateless. Sound characteristics you can compare in the video. Fr4 can be deep or higher pitched depending on the characteristics of your foam, switch and keycap choices. Just FYI, A ton of people think aluminum plate is the best sounding. IMO there is metallic aspect that I don’t care for, but there is no right or wrong here. As for the switches, I linked a video from dr.hey in the description. He showcased the switches. Hopefully that helps!

    Are the 3 foams in the sound test included in the box? If not, how can i purchase them and are there any guides as to how to do them?

    • @Akeynote
      @Akeynote  Год назад

      They are included, but no guides. They only fit in very specific ways. The plate foam goes inbetween the pcb and plate. The PE foam goes inbetween the pcb and plate also, but underneath the plate foam. The case foam goes underneath the pcb.

    • @Akeynote
      @Akeynote  Год назад +1

      3 devices. Fn + tab to cycle through the different connections (wired, bT, wireless dongle) The q,w,e will blink meaning your in BT, then you can pair by one of the three connection by holding fn+q,w or e.
      Since they also include a dongle that works with dongle mode you can technically have 4 different devices be controlled by this keyboard.

    • @Akeynote
      @Akeynote  Год назад +1

      Dang I wanted to, but the analytics show people always dropping off on those parts of the vids. I guess most people dont care what the opinion is. They just want to hear it lol. FR4 is my favorite, louder than FR4 & PC and just ever so slightly stiffer, but the mounting system makes all plates feel soft. Pom and PC feel wise is so similar I cant honestly tell a difference both very soft, but PC is ever so slightly bendier. Sound wise PC is more muted or cleaner i guess. Like less resonance and a little higher pitched. Unless you do a side by side comparison you wont tell the difference IMO. Some people have amazing hearing and can, but realistic daily use, I doubt it.

      @@Akeynote Ah I see, thankyou for the response! I am looking to use Boba U4Ts in the QK75 and was hoping for kind of a marbley deep sound, so FR4 would be my best bet? I also heard that generally stiffer plates are better than softer plates like PC/POM for tactiles?
