Why not though? They have a better brass then most open class and lower world class corps. Maybe not top 10 but you can't deny them that they aren't as good as some dbc's.
Oh no, for sure. Though, some lower class corps are just as good as the BOA finalists brass. Nothing even relatively close to the top 20 though. +Nick Niehaus +Tim Ander
I agree. They're not comparable due to the restrictions placed on high school bands though (e.g. often no auditions, smaller pool of students, etc.), but for what they do pull off, bands like this deserve a lot of credit. Start comparing them though and then you've got butt hurt band kids and DCI fans alike, for varying reasons.
To be fair and honest, Avon and Marian are leveled by technicality, but the cleanliness that Avon pulls out of their shakos each year is unreal (not to mention their oh so lovely screamers :)
+Hidan Troyer Your welcome!! there are a lot of these vids from last year but hardly any for this year! As part of the color guard we get all the directors vids
I'm in the Victor J Andrew High School Marching Band and we had the same show name and show idea, I definitely enjoyed seeing this in the super regional performance, great job though..
Prionian yah I was a freshman last year and saw your show on RUclips since we were warming up at the time u were competing. I also saw this years :) I like your band
I will never forget when I walked through the convention center and heard a Broken Arrow kids say they weren't even happy they got first. Somehow this show didn't beat them
Each show is different in it's own way. BA did not get deducted points for prop height. That lesson was learned last year. Shows win based on how well kids interpret meaning and music then perform it. BA works as hard as Avon, Tarpon, Marion Catholic etc...please be kind with words spoken on here. All these young people are winners. Unless you are 100% correct on assumsents made please don't post negative and false statements.
+Hexion Gaming I'm from Lockport. Township High School. We watched you guys during your practice I'm not sure if you remember before BOA. You guys did great
Simple to understand. Our show made no sense last year which didn't really help our cause. This show very easy to understand which helps make it more enjoyable to watch. Audiences don't like to feel dumb or like they're missing something
Cats. The show was called 9 lives. The opener was introducing the cats, the 2nd movement about cat burglars, the 3rd about 9 lives, and the fourth was just idek.
Scott Wagner my dude copyright issues. Started being a serious issue with Tarpon 14 using unlicensed modern music samples. Boa just couldn't afford to pay the licensing.
8024Hawk. CTJ and a few Austin based school are going this year but if North Texas (Marcus, Flowermound HS, Hebron ect) would represent they would give Tarpon Springs or BA a better running. Might even take the Eagle. I'm hoping 2017 Grand Nationals is Texas!
The only band that will give us a run for our money will be Ronald Reagan HS and Avon! And I've never been more excited to go up against such amazing programs! I can't wait to see y'all in November!
Nick Niehaus avons show might be a bit of a mess this year it they will still beat everyone in Indiana and you never know, they could cleanup their act
I heard avon show was really good but they need to clean it. And Flower mound is someone to watch out for this year and Hebron. The Texas bands are in full force this year at Grand Nats.
OK so Broken Arrow isn't going to Grand Nats this year. I know it's still way to early but how do you feel about Avon's chances this year? Even with BA not going Avon will still face some very stiff out of state competition, most notably from Tarpon Springs FL, Ronald Reagan TX, and Claudia Taylor Johnson TX.
It will probably be Avon, Tarpon, Mason, or someone from the Texas marching band army :D CTJ and Leander will probably be the biggest contenders from Texas, maybe Bowie or Reagan if they're having a good year.
I think the biggest competition from Texas is going to be Flower Mound. They've beaten us (Hebron) for the past 2 years. I don't personally agree with the style shows they use (although they are very well delivered) but they have excellent visual appeal usually.
+It'sTwisteh Actually this was my first year in AMBG and i was so so nervous for grand nats but it was amazing. i realized that was the last show id ever preform of this year and of that show. i was crying in the ballad cause thats when it hit but i do have to say try and realized that before the show so you can do your best cause it can mess you up.also there is definitely no need to be nervous during breaking of ranks too. its personally my favorite part!
You guys and Broken Arrow are honestly DCI level marching bands.
Why not though? They have a better brass then most open class and lower world class corps. Maybe not top 10 but you can't deny them that they aren't as good as some dbc's.
We (Avon) aren't even CLOSE to a drum corps.
I saw crown earlier this summer, and they were better then than we are at the end of our season.
Oh no, for sure. Though, some lower class corps are just as good as the BOA finalists brass. Nothing even relatively close to the top 20 though. +Nick Niehaus +Tim Ander

What a beautiful sound during the warm up chorale.
By far my fav high school marching band show , we got to watch you guys practice for simis I believe
Whoa...... Y'all should've won
thanks! 😊 (I'm in the drumline. this was my freshmen year)
+Kayleigh Swanson thank you so much!!
+Kayleigh Swanson we're excited too! thanks again
To be fair and honest, Avon and Marian are leveled by technicality, but the cleanliness that Avon pulls out of their shakos each year is unreal (not to mention their oh so lovely screamers :)
Can't wait to compete against them this year at Grand Nats! They are gonna blow me away I already know
what band are u from?
Achi Morton Marching band in Illinois
Have u heard of the pride of owasso.
Uploader, you are a saint. Thank you
+Hidan Troyer Your welcome!! there are a lot of these vids from last year but hardly any for this year! As part of the color guard we get all the directors vids
Love the costume and makeup for the guard and how it's carried through out the whole band!😍 also the show name is so clever & music was great!
The level and skill in the precision/execution in drill, is quite marvelous. Wow. Bravo. Great show!
I'm in the Victor J Andrew High School Marching Band and we had the same show name and show idea, I definitely enjoyed seeing this in the super regional performance, great job though..
+Hexion Gaming thank you... and i heard about yours. i loved it. it kind of put two perspectives into the translation part to it
I just got done thinking that cuz u guys compete at our competition (morton invitational)
Cara Rankin you were at morton 2015?? did you see this year's show???
Prionian yah I was a freshman last year and saw your show on RUclips since we were warming up at the time u were competing. I also saw this years :) I like your band
I will never forget when I walked through the convention center and heard a Broken Arrow kids say they weren't even happy they got first. Somehow this show didn't beat them
Lol, what?

+Jamie Casey we were only venting. i agree that BA and everyone works just as hard. no comments here should be taken offensively
the pit plays more then the band... I wish there was more bass and woodwinds. but congrats on 2nd avon.
Most of the songs were supposed to help both the pit and battery shine. It had alot of drumline features.
BRUH THIS SHOULD HAVE WON
+Hexion Gaming I'm from Lockport. Township High School. We watched you guys during your practice I'm not sure if you remember before BOA. You guys did great
+Kingg I DO!!! Thank you, Alot of us actually watched you guys too! You guys were awesome too!!
Terrific sound and video quality even on my basic PC speakers! Mozart's Lacrimosa is very interesting.
Man i wish my band had the number of marchers and the show themes these guys have... if we did we could kick butt!!!
+Noah Carmichael Its alot of work and its hard sometimes for everyone to get along and get on the same page lol
+Hannah King yea i know, im with Center Grove
Our show last year was a pain in the ass
+Noah Carmichael haha i think all marching bands of all sizes have this problem lol
+Noah Carmichael About how many people did CG march?
+Nzoid 2015 we marched a total of 154 marchers
Well you guys did great!
Miss this 😪
At about 9:10, did you notice the guards formed the crown set around the band???
+Kelvin Chau I saw that!!!!
Their guard instructor is one of the instructors for Crown.
Michael Bowlin their band director is the crown instructor lol
not michael bowlin, matt harloff. and he was brass caption at the time. Jay Webb was avons BD until 2021
Really great show!
+Jeffrey Ader Thank you!
+Hannah King Absolutely, you guys did awesome. Very creative. Nice music and visual
Man this is good...
+NPNGxProdigy Thank you!!
See my band from fishers gets to try and compete with Avon and Carmel each year. They just need to be in their own league, no one can touch them.
if only our shows were that simple... maybe the judges would like them more... 😧
Simple to understand. Our show made no sense last year which didn't really help our cause. This show very easy to understand which helps make it more enjoyable to watch. Audiences don't like to feel dumb or like they're missing something
TotalRageGaming oh no. I love our music and drill. Saucedo is a genius and I've never been disappointed with Carmels music.
What was it about ?
Cats. The show was called 9 lives. The opener was introducing the cats, the 2nd movement about cat burglars, the 3rd about 9 lives, and the fourth was just idek.
+Jake Letts haha well it sounds better then my friends show
Does anyone know why MFA stopped producing Nats DVDs?
Scott Wagner copyright. They don’t even have their “fan network” anymore
Scott Wagner my dude copyright issues. Started being a serious issue with Tarpon 14 using unlicensed modern music samples. Boa just couldn't afford to pay the licensing.
Corbin Buckley aye my dude
Nick Niehaus suhhhh dude
Infinity 2015? Anyone?

+The Florida Railfan Productions yeah not Avon this year
Nick Niehaus avons show might be a bit of a mess this year it they will still beat everyone in Indiana and you never know, they could cleanup their act
I heard avon show was really good but they need to clean it. And Flower mound is someone to watch out for this year and Hebron. The Texas bands are in full force this year at Grand Nats.

Honestly i have no idea. I mean its anyone's game at this point
It will probably be Avon, Tarpon, Mason, or someone from the Texas marching band army :D CTJ and Leander will probably be the biggest contenders from Texas, maybe Bowie or Reagan if they're having a good year.
I don't know about CTJ, but Leander's show is going to be huge. Cedar Park is also going and is stepping outside of their comfort zone.
I think the biggest competition from Texas is going to be Flower Mound. They've beaten us (Hebron) for the past 2 years. I don't personally agree with the style shows they use (although they are very well delivered) but they have excellent visual appeal usually.
Carmel over here drinking serious tea ☕️
The lack of love owasso is getting going into grand nats depresses me
Saw Owasso in St. Louis a few days ago. I think they have a great shot a Grand National Finals this year.
Andrew Thompson where are u from
Alumni of Sioux Falls Lincoln
Andrew Thompson are u big in marching band
A bit.
Lacrimosa was 👌👌👌😍😍
so clean
are there any videos of avons drum line in the lot from this show??
I don't think so
Have you ever heard of Lockport marching band? That's where I'm from and we are Doing grand nationals next year. Any tips?
+It'sTwisteh Actually this was my first year in AMBG and i was so so nervous for grand nats but it was amazing. i realized that was the last show id ever preform of this year and of that show. i was crying in the ballad cause thats when it hit but i do have to say try and realized that before the show so you can do your best cause it can mess you up.also there is definitely no need to be nervous during breaking of ranks too. its personally my favorite part!
Jim Rogers?
Damn!!!!!
What song is at 5:57?
Mozart's Lacrimosa.
Do you think you could get finals too?
+Jacob Martin I never got the finals one, Richard only gave me this one through my drop box
Isn't your school taught by that guy from Crown?
+KJKING326 Yes... we have a few directors from DCI
+KJKING326 - Matt Harloff (not sure if I spelt that correctly) is the assistant band director there.
+TheMarcus409 so is the guard director well one of them
how many parts were in this show?
5. Well technically 6. Two in the opener, one in the ballad, two in the closer plus the add on to the closer
Don't count out Marian😏😏
