IN terms of General Effect and theatrics, I don't think any band fielded consistently get it right like BA. BA has a level of true artistry that is genius level. Every year, they just keep amazing people.
Alkilchrist actually I think one of the judges had beef with one of the producers of the show so he gave a bad score on visual (even though visuals were like the best part) and then BA didn’t go to grand nats in 2013 because Bands of America didn’t remove that judge from the panel.
@@pumpkin462 yeah, I’m pretty sure, I wasn’t part of the band in 2012 but I knew people that had siblings that where in that show. And that was what I heard.
This band is from a real actual high school? Is it a massive private school with tons of funding and tens of thousands of students? How is this possible?
I went to this high school. It is real! It is also a public school. My graduating class in 2013 was over 1,100. The marching band pulls from 9-12th grade, so about 5,000 kids total in Broken Arrow 9-12th that year. To put that in an even weirder perspective, my husband and I both graduated from Broken Arrow in the class of 2013. We both went to Broken Arrow schools from kindergarten through 12th grade and didn’t meet until two years after graduation.
One of the greatest BOA shows in history.

LITERALLY! No one does GE like Broken Arrow, they are game changers!
Still easily my favorite show of this decade!
Extraordinary vision and execution all round. Very relevant theme for today too.
This is definitely my top favorite marching band show in BOA
About time this recording comes back
Just the opening hit alone sends chills down my back this is an excellent show
Literally one of my favorite BOA shows ever
I think 2:00 is the reason we are all here
i love music so much
tysm
Anahuac Contreras 😱😱
that's gotta be the best start
Chills
i still don't understand how they didn't win this year...
Josh Canfield the show was too DARK . BOA loves butterflies rainbows and unicorns. Look at past winners for comparison

@@parkerhewett6731 wow well utopia would have won most certainly
Sounds eerily similar to the opening sounds used in L.D. Bell’s 2006 show…
Both got second place at nationals. Kinda a little funny
Both were designed by Wes Cartwright, however the musical selections are different.
Will never not think they got robbed. 100% rigged
Did WesC design this? (context: I was at Union before and the set design feels familiar)
He was one of the main designers yes.
