I have always seen this song, Rise of Evil, as the sibling to the song The Final Solution. They are linked in their haunting terror about linked subjects.
I agree with you they really made the song paint the picture of the beginning to the start of the war with how the song sounds and is structured. It start slow and builds up just like the history of it and at the end we hear the marching.
I love this song, even though it send chills down my spine every time I hear it. Joakims voice drives the words into you, hammering the massage in, all accompanied with th music that depicts the army marching. The guitar solo mirrors the chaos that was happening too.
Yes and the most important lesson imo is how was Hitler given all the power over Germany. He was a former prisoner, had attempted a coup before and had written out his thoughts and plans in his book. Nothing came out of the blue and there were many times when he could have been stopped by different people or groups, or even countries.
@@alibennett78 On the contrary, we can understand it and we should understand it so we can make sure it doesn't happen again as opposed to just hoping it doesn't. Hitler was just a man and the German people at the time were just that, people.
Just thought I’d let you know that Indy Neidell has a World War 2 channel which he has presented alongside the rest of the timeghost crew, and they have done from the prelude of world War two ( on Timeghost) from about 1919 through to about the start of World War II with their ‘between two wars’ series, which as 2 seasons of; which is a very good series to watch. Anyway, it’s very nice that you’ve started to really connect all the dots and I’m glad you’re enjoying the overall World War II content that you do actually watch
If you’re interested and haven’t reacted to the song, check out Rammstein’s Deutschland. Not a big fan on Rammstein, but that is a masterpiece. Put on the subtitles and be prepared for some more German History.
Once again great scenery and music from Sabaton. That's what makes the band great. Unfortunately again only a half-baked “reappraisal” of why Hitler and his left-wing extremist companions were able to seize power in Germany.
Sounds are horrible and they have come long way from that as song writers. Non less good riffs and Joakim should finally learn how to pronounce Reich....sounds much cooler when it's done properly.

A very emotionally powerful song. I completely agree with everything you said. Thanks for Sabaton and for the great review.
The last part of the song sounds like soldiers marching, now the invasion its coming 🙂
They used the same recording technique for the marching that Judas Priest used in Metal Gods, shaking a rack of silverware.

I really love this song, this and Dreadnaught have a quite different sound then the usual Sabaton bangers
First listen for me. Been a treat having your reactions again for our old favorites Nightwish and Sabaton ❤
I don't know how you remember where everything goes Dan, but well done 🔥
Cheers Troy!🎉🎉🎉
An awesome heavy song to the history
Yep definitely can be used in it as an outro
Like history yes its in the past but it still needs to be said out loud and the atrocities that happened may never be repeated

@The_GuyWhoNeverUploadsAnything honestly it's something we may never understand.....we just hope and pray that it never gets like that again
