    Hi from Melbourne Australia. I was on ozempic for about 12 months. I lost 23 kilograms. I had a few headaches but overall the only thing that has ever helped me lose weight. I don’t have diabetes. I went on this medication to help me with the weight. Fantastic. I stopped taking it 7 months ago and have not put on any weight. I still watch what I’m eating but it is harder. The medication didn’t make you think of food at all. Now I am using my willpower. Good luck to anyone who wants to use ozempic. I know we r not all the same and side effects could be worse for some but it’s worth it. They will go away. Good luck. God bless.

    I’ve been on trulicity and metforman both. Metforman at high doses (1000mg) causes me severe gastrointestinal issues. @750 mg dosage symptoms were manageable and added trulicity did lower A1c before I changed diet. After starting low carb/ keto and IF (2MAD) I started having low blood sugar episodes and nearly passed out at work. Stopped trulicity and had no more issues. Continued metforman and keto until morning blood sugars below 115. Currently morning blood glucose is usually between 90 and 110. I’m off all meds even blood pressure and I couldn’t be happier about that. Sept ‘21 A1c was 12.6 to February’22 A1c was 6.1. Started low carb in October’21 and keto in November’21. I have lost 50 lbs so far and have more I could lose but I’m happy where I am right now.

    I was on Trulicity for three weeks. The nausea was so bad, I didn’t want to drink water. I have a nodule on my thyroid (benign), so the black label warning didn’t reassure me. I didn’t see my BG numbers lowering. Admittedly, it probably wasn’t enough time to see results. I stuck to Metformin and Ketovore. For those having GI issues with Metformin, the only thing that worked for me after years of trying was to wean very slowly. I started at 125mg once daily and eventually ended on 1000mg twice daily. I'm not diabetic, but I am overweight and have been diagnosed with Metabolic Syndrome or Pre-diabetes in the past. Sticking to a mostly Ketavore diet has prevented me from crossing over into Diabetes...so far. I would just like to request a video, or mention in a future video, your opinion on Benfotamine and Berberine, especially the latter since I've heard other Keto/Carnivore doctors or 'influencers' praise Berberine as even better than Metformin in reducing blood sugar. I find when I occasionally 'fall off the wagon', taking Berberine and/or Benfotamine, plus Cinnamon in coffee and chromium supplements (and a little at-home exercise), usually gets me back on-track within a day or two.

    Why would a healthy person want to increase insulin? I know you believe a very healthy truely insulin depressed person should juice it up now and then, but why not do it naturally?
    This is an incredibly interesting topic. Please explore more aspects of it. Like, wouldnt you want to measure insulin multiple times to be sure it is not going too high? Do you really think temporary use could cause a permanent improvement in that last bit of IR for a person doing everthing right (fat adapted in ketosis). That would be me.

    • @bidnow2946
      @bidnow2946 2 года назад +1

      You have multiple questions going in different directions, Peter.
      Your actual Insulin levels are seldom, if ever, measured since it is pulsatile. A continuous Insulin Monitor is being developed, but years away I believe.
      A healthy person would want to increase insulin because it is anabolic and helps promote weight and muscle gain. Body builders are generally extremely Insulin sensitive.
      When a person is on a long term keto or carnivore diet, their baseline Insulin level can/does go down, and that can be catabolic. That is (one reason) why carb cycling and raising Insulin periodically is helpful. Neither of these two conditions is what is being discussed in this video.
      When a person is a long term T2D or even Pre-Diabetic, they may remain somewhat Insulin Resistant. Dr. Atkins and more recently Dr. Volek confirmed that many patients may need to keep carbs down to no more than 35g in order to achieve nutritional ketosis. This video is about people making too much or their own glucose even if eating low carb/keto/carnivore. Dr. Cywes suggested it might be a six month treatment and then tapering off, which I think is not really a "temporary" use. I'll guess that his response will be to make an appointment to find out if the treatment might be beneficial for you.

I check in occassionally to help others in the comments but there are far better sources of information in the ether. I agree with you about pharma, I decided 2 years ago I would rather die than support the medical industry in any capacity. Proving to some doctor how healthy I am won't provide any motivation to alter the practice of medicine in any way so why bother.

    • @bidnow2946
      @bidnow2946 2 года назад +2

      I agree to a point. But I also think that it is acceptable for some people to eat keto protein bars if it helps them get going.
      It is difficult to make a video or provide a blanket endorsement for something because every situation is so different. When the IF push started a few years ago, I failed miserably trying to implement a 16:8, even after about three years of keto. I needed to move to extended fasting to shake things up for me, even though it may not be beneficial for everyone.

    Since 2012 my weight has been going down from 283 pounds to about 213 or lower by radically reducing carbohydrates and eating healthier fats.
    Not counting the time last year when I was in the hospital with Covid and almost died, when I was well below 200, I’ve come back up to where I am now somewhere between 218 and 220.
    74-year-old male and I basically follow a keto carnivore diet with occasional carbohydrates and ethanol 😬
    My A-1 C was 5.1 and I haven’t measured my blood glucose directly in a long time.
    I think most of my weight gain was being stuck in the house in the winter.
    On the surface it looks like I’m pretty much OK but I don’t think I’ve ever seen my blood sugar lower than the lower 80s.
    Should I be considering a visit with you to discuss getting the A1c lower? If so, what would we be likely focusing on because I thought I was some kind of a superstar for getting the long term blood sugar down to 5.1 using keto-carnivore.

I had all the side effects but I could stop eating I had ridiculous craving ! Most of the time I tried to stick with low carb diets but the cravings were too powerful. I went to two doctors (my primary care doctor and endocrinologist) to explain why I felt that way on this medication and they couldn't find an unswer. So I decided to stick with Metformin and low carb and its working.
    I would love to have a consultation with you, specially because I lost part of my pancreas in a surgery and my spleen. Thank you.

    Can someone explain to me why I gained a significant amount of weight taking metformin and victoza? No, I wasn't eating a ketogenic diet, but I don't understand why I put on 50 lbs and it forced me into severe prediabetes. I did not have prediabetes before, even though I was around 400 lbs. I kind of feel like the weight loss doctor I had at the time (don't see him any longer) was forcing me to get diabetes so medicaid would cover the Victoza because I wanted to try Saxenda and nothing worked except 2 weight loss surgeries and going carnivore, plus adding iodine supplementation to calm down my apparent mysterious low thyroid symptoms. My a1c is 5.0 and during carnivore my blood sugar stays between 40 and 60.

    Dr. Cywes has become a drug pusher 😂
    On a side note, I believe I just heard someone describe this drug as horrible as it made eating less pleasant. Takeaway being that the doctors prescribing it are not being upfront with the patient... That the only way it is beneficial is by the client wanting change instead of just a pill to reduce symptoms of their maligned dietary ways.
    So in the end, glad you are here to bless those who you can with a more holistic approach... Even when you do use pills, they are for support to change, not a crutch to keep going the wrong way. 👍

    I’m sorry Robert, but using these drugs seems counterintuitive for people with IR since they already generate more insulin then they should. This drug can only make things worse long term. Additionally, triggering an already overworked pancreas to produce even more insulin seems like a recipe for disaster.

      I am on ozempic. I had my fasting insulin tested and it was at the high end of "normal", I think the medication allows the already produced insulin to be released from the beta cells (more efficiently). I only eat 2 times a day and pretty low carb but on ozempic I am getting nice, relatively quick post-prandial reductions in my bg, whereas before ozempic they were high and stayed high. My fasting dropped from about 250 to 130 pretty quickly, not great but think it needs more time.

    I wish you were in my network, but I'm in Michigan and you're in Florida. My, about to be fired by me, doctor is telling me that not eating carbs is a sign of an eating disorder! I've lost 50 pounds, and I just hit a, "normal BMI," for the first time in two years. I get plenty of calories, my blood markers are good, but..." Bread is not unhealthy." Maybe not to him. It is to me. He hates, Keto too. He wants me on a 1000 calorie a day diet. Too little!

    I just went with my husband to his Cardiologist 2 days ago. His triglycerides were 73, his HDL was 71 but his LDL was 157. His Dr prescribed Nexlizet. I’m not familiar with that drug but he said it’s not a statin because he can’t take statins. They give him horrible muscle pain. Are you familiar with Nexlizet?

    • @enigmatistic8470
      @enigmatistic8470 2 года назад

      This is why people need to quit the medical industry entirely. Apart from the ridiculous lie (any drug designed to lower cholesterol is a 'statin', the main side-effect of which is muscle pain) did they provide evidence for LDL of 157 as dangerous? What was the composition of the LDL? Was it VLDL? Pattern A or B?
      Now let's discuss the serious side-effect of Nexlizet, an increase in blood uric acid (which IS life-threatening). So the next visit they'll analyze his uric acid, find elevated levels and prescribe a uric acid lowering drug (with more side-effects). Now he's worse off than when he started and paying lots of money to an industry profiting on murder.

    Many bodybuilders and fitness models like it Semaglutide. It is a long acting when dieting for a show. (Please note can be found as an oral) / Liraglutide - short acting / Ozempic (brand name higher price - long acting, injection). There are several others available ( Dulaglutide and Exenatide). Yes, works well and Much safer than DMP or the stimulant route (modafinil, rauwolscine, Adderall, even diet red bull) . Plus for those who take insulin to promote growth of muscle tissue, force growth along with the HGH, Igf1,....the GLP-1 agonist really helps as the exogenous insulin in a healthy person causes a lot of hunger. Some even add in DPP-4 or other gliptins.

      Yes, it can be. It is amazing what some competitors take to get to 5% body fat. Plus all the dietetics on top and "fasting" from water! Whole different world from obesity patients but tremendous learning experience. Never would we be allowed (legally) to do RCT'S mixing 12 to 14 very dangerous drugs / medications at one time on "healthy" adults. It is also interesting how many are consuming relatively high protein / high carb / low fat diets and achieving extremely low body fat percentages.

    I had a similar experience with Victoza and nausea as the Doctor described with Truvia.
    After I injected the Victoza, I noticed that the needle was bent. Thinking I had not administered the proper dose, I took another injection. It was an unnecessary self- imposed disaster. No hyperbole here. I was so sick for two days and ruined our weekend at the beach. I swore I would never take this poison again and never did. Why no warning about this? Because the company does not care!! How can anyone endorse, with such enthusiasm, this new way for a drug company to rake in people’s hard earned cash? If this drug is so effective, why am I bothering to watch Dr. Fung’s. Dr. Berry’s, Dr. Lustig’s et al’s videos. I am beyond disappointed and losing faith in these outlier doctors.

    My normal type 2 meds stopped reducing blood sugar, pharmacist said i might need insulin soon but suggested I try a glp-1 byetta5cuno effect on eating or weight but bs reduced a bit from 12.9 to 8.5, so i was offered victoza pen glp-1 & results good on blood sugar about 8 & it actually told my mind not to eat, unfortunately shortages, never continued using this drug. Next Saxandar was suggested as only glp-1 in stock, it reduced blood sugar down to 7 eventually as skipped low doses and increased dose every three days, been on 3mg for few weeks & not good results, no effect on eating but blood sugar just off normal at 6.8 made stools loose & sore backside. Finally tomorrow i start Trulicity head on 3mg each week, I hope same as other glp-1 in no real side effects ok bit wind, mild back ache. I have needle phobia but managed to get over it using the drugs but sure i sometimes shake as i pick the injection spot, I use my thigh normally but doc warned needle in Trulicity bit longer could hit muscle, so in the morning with no eyeglasses on i will attempt my hip or if i feel brave my belly. Will update on my results soon.
