- As we get closer to release GW are releasing the free, digital Faction Packs for the Armies of Age of Sigmar... but WHY are they releasing them in such a stupid order?

They do it so everyday has something to talk about for content creators it makes perfect sense
I understand the grief with the drip feed. However if anyone thought they were going to drop them all at the same time is insane. They did the EXACT same thing with 10th edition. To the point where you could of guess the release date before the fist week of articles were posted.
Totally agree, I don’t appreciate them staggering out the release of rules. That being said, I have numerous factions in order, chaos, and death so it will help me digest things day by day.

This is the most nothing-burger of a complaint I've ever seen. When you're scraping the barrel for controversy and this is all you can find to be upset about it tells me that GW are on the whole smashing it with the AoS 4 release.
They are absolutely smashing the AoS 4 release, I've loved all the previews and faction focus articles. I just wish I could have played a test game against my friend next Tuesday but I can't because he'll have his rules and I won't have mine... I'm not upset, I just think it's a bit silly why they couldn't just give everyone their rules at the same time
I totally agree. Even though i play order/chaos/destruction i still am anoyed for the WHY
I have Stormcast and Cities of Sigmar so that’s Tursday, Slaves to Darkness so that’s Wednesday, Nighthaunt so that’s Thursday and Kruleboyz and Ogor Mawtribes s for Friday. A faction rules set for almost everyday of the week 😸
I browsed through a few factions. I can't remember which death faction but I feel there is an ability or 2 not written right.
I do remember Belladamma's ability "First of the Vyrkos" does not work with the Beast trait on the Vargskyr. She modifies control and Beast does not allow it. Her other ability says to ignore the Beast trait on the Dire Wolves.
So I'm sure some abilities are probably not right across all packs.
As an Ironjawz player, I am slightly annoyed yes.
I assumed it was because their shitty servers wouldn't be able to cope
I think someones defense on this is at least not everyone will be going on all at the same time and downloading stuff on the site, i think itll still fck em up though so doesnt really matter then does it?

I've finally run out of hype. The cycle for this edition has been going on since March. Feels like it went on for a week or two to long.
It seems to have reached the level of MTG, where you know about a set sometimes 6-8 months in advance, the 'sneak peeks' for those sets start 2-3 months before the set is out and THEN you get the previews for the set about two weeks before. Now sets come out every 3 months with products like Commander Precons inbetween. So the MTG machine is in a constant state of hype and as soon as a thing has been released, the hype cycle has started for the next one, leaving no time for a product to stand on its own.
Order out of chaos, there's the reason why.... its esoteric for those that know.
Is this video not just low effort content put up for views and clicks? I don’t see how it can be “stupid” if they do it and fine when you do it. Besides, imagine how exciting you’re going to be when they drop all of the death stuff and how some of the excitement from drops earlier in the week will have subsided.
I'm not a company gatekeeping my content though, I get it's a minor thing in the grand scheme, it's not gonna stop me absolutely loving AoS 4.0, but for me... I have a game with friends next Tuesday which we can manage, maybe, once a month if we're really lucky, and we could have given the new version a bit of a spin with the core/key rules and my friend playing Stormcast, but as I play Death factions I won't have my rules... it's just... annoying, I get WHY they don't release them all at once for the content it just still strikes me as a bit of a silly thing to spread out for content from a player perspective 🤷♂
@@TheSixMachine I understand the frustration in that situation, and I’m impatient too, but it just sounds like you’re only considering how it affects you, which is fine, but then trying to argue that it’s a bigger issue than it really is. If the Death factions dropped first would this video exist? Maybe it would. GW do things that are truly baffling and frustrating on a fairly regular basis, but to me this just how they’ve chosen to market the new edition and while it might be nice to get everything at once I think there is intention behind this decision beyond just for the sake of content.
I do hope you get plenty of games in this edition and that your armies are fun to play.
@@daswookie79 Oh absolutely there is definitely their own reasons for it and this is for sure more of a 'selfish rant' on my behalf I just feel like if it was me I'd release the rules all at the same time, but then again... that's exactly why I'm not in charge of a multi-billion pound company I guess! 🤣 Thanks for the comment though! And yes I hope you enjoy 4.0 when it drops! I can't wait to see all the Death Faction Rules even if I do have a day or two of envy to get through first! 😁
Despite saying you know why it is done this way, you obviously don't know why. This is not something for GW and traffic for their site, which will only be visited by people already knowing about GW and specifically looking for the download, which costs GW money. It is for all the content creators and influencers out there.
This is one week of content creators releasing a persistent stream of content and free advertisement in oppostion to a weekend with 4-5 videos/articles at once. This way it is way more likely to attract people not fimiliar with the hobby or that someone only playing death factions may look up other factions and maybe even start a new army, because the rules/models he has seen in the video about order, he would've never watched if the video for death factions would've released on the same day, appealed to him.
So no, it is not stupid, it is brilliant! ...at least from a marketing standpoint.
They are all out before the core rules come out, so everything is out before 4th adopts? Why do GW players whine just for the sake for whining. They are free and before the game starts. Good clickbait, though I suppose.
