• Metallica - Creeping D...
Metallica was unstoppable with Jason Newsted as their bassist, his energy and backing vocals are out of this world.
@@antondzajajurca7797 True that, Cliff was a great composer and Robert is probably the most technically skilled of the three. But if I were to travel back in time, I'd go for any performance with Jason as their bassist :)
Metallica IS UNSTOPPABLE because they are Metallica. ALL great Bass Players..
Can't deny Newsted was an absolute BEAST on stage, not taking anything away from Trujillo cause he's a monster in his own right but he don't bring the executioners axe the way Newsted did
Yeah all 3 bassists were/are amazing in their own way, but I do miss Jason at the live shows. His energy and backing vocals are unmatched. Also, Jason was involved at the peak of Metallica.
Hmm disagree.. Metallica lost it when Cliff died
7:18 Jason screaming "Die Motherfucking Die" high point of the whole day.
Whole performance was EPIC, but James is at the top of his game vocally here. It felt like he was tearing into that mic and breathing fire out over the crowd.
Dude, that was sick
And again watch Battery from Seattle 89. Metallica on the top of the world
Gonna second this.
Gonna third this.
I’ve requested this on the last 10 Metallica reactions of theirs but they never respond haha
Gonna fourth this
Lmaoooo
Still miss Jason.
Best version of Creeping death IMO, and Lars went into beast mode.
They all did👀⚡️
They were feeding off the energy forsure!! That crowd was ELECTRIC!🙌🏼
best version of creeping death is san diego 1992, that one was fucking nuts
Laaarssss fireeeee
I prefer the one in Middletown NY, Jason got a LOT louder than normal. They also do a close up of him during the DIE! chant and it looks like his neck is about to rip open
I`ve been there at that show in Moscow in 1991. Yes, that was the biggest crowd ever here. 30 years went by but still that was the biggest mass event in our city.
What a great memory to have witnessed! I was lucky enough to see them with Cliff back in 1985.
You were at that show seriously? Holy shit how epic!!! That show is talked about by us Metallica fans in the state like it some epic Viking saga legend or like The Odyssey or something. Not kidding - that show is talked about and romanticized about more than any other show (maybe on par with Live Aid with Queen).
@@Frostrazor Yes. I was 16 and graduated school that year. Only in 1988 we had 1 big metal show in Moscow. So in 1991 it was 2nd time a metal festival with world famous groups arrived here. So million of people came to see the show. And yes - it was epic.
I MEAN THERE WAS 3 BANDS PLAYING PANTERA THE BEST METAL BAND TO EVER PLAY METALLICA AND ACDC
Wow! What was that experience like? The biggest concert I'm been to was probably 40 000.
After 40 years, still the greatest band in the world!
The Jason Newsted die scream is legendary
The absolute undisputed Kings.
The Masters! 🤘
The Legends.
EHHHH METALLICA OVERRATED
@@BAKED.BEYOND even if they are
They're still the kings of metal
Many other bands were inspired by them
The entire Ride the Lightning album is fantastic... you would like all of it, studio or live.
Creeping Death 89 Seattle was amazing. The crowd knows the song and they know their part!! Amazing..
These guys were...and still are....unmatched. 40 years of greatness and epicness.....imagine how many young musicians they have inspired. Still today every concert is an epiphany.....the definition of (very much living) LEGENDS 🔥🔥🔥🤘🤘🤘. Next one; Damage Inc. live in Quebec 2012.....4 minutes and 18 seconds of Thrash Metal.....the speed, energy and ferocity of that song will rock your shoes off and make you grasp for air 🔥🔥🔥🔥.....and I could easily mention another 60 live-bangers to react to ( among others live performances from Seattle 1989)
You feel the same way I do about Metallica, couldn't of said it better myself man
Imagine how iron maiden inspire metallica to be a musician
In the 90s Grunge and Pantera ruled not Metallica
That's what 1.6 million people at a concert looks like. That place was lit!!
Lars is like a 2-stroke engine. He's not fancy, he's got like 6 moving parts, but goddamit he gets the goddam job DONE.
All he needs now is a metronome
He's an amazing live drummer.
This and Seattle 89 …. Are just EPIC. Legendary. Perfect.
And San Diego 92, Nuremburg 92, Milton Keynes 93
Yes..finally.This is one of the best metal song ever.
This is one of my all time favorite performances of theirs. This show is on my list to go see...if I had a time machine lol.
One of my all time favorite live performances by Metallica!
Freakin epic!!
Great way to start my day with my favorite reactors from Philly!
Have an awesome day
my friends!
Til next time☮
Stay safe!
💥💯🖤🎼🤘
It's Jason fucking Newsted!! That bass player man! I do love him. I love his "Newsted " album he did solo too! \m/
I was lucky enough to see this track live with Cliff
6:18 thats the point, this festival was called Monsters of Rock!
Metallica is a beyond talented band. my fav band of all time.
Thank God they hired Jason at the most accurate time! Maybe he's not a bass maestro like Cliff but on stage, during live performance, he's a SATAN!
Yes the energy can felt 30 yrs later - shit theirs still people trying to get their cars at the parking lot 30 yrs later!
I hear ya love that this is your fav live by Metallica. I'll say that's the best live metal performance ever recorded period.
From 87 to 94 Metallica was simply untouchable when it came to performing live - just listen how tight and on point they are with every change-up and transition. Masterful.
I graduated high school in 1991 and was and still am such a goddamned rocker!!! Metallica came to Seattle shortly after this stint and it can be found online too!
Thats why Metallica are the greatest, they performed like that for 10 years, nobody could get close
you could also put iron maiden in that category
@@michaelbohlman3204 yeah loved Maiden in the early days, but for me When Metallica were at their peak they was nobody better
Bruce is a better singer but james is a better frontman. His presence is greater. More charisma....
@@andrewmcgill9544 correct
The Irons are good but they cannot match “Tallica”
Harvester of Sorrow same concert !!! Epic performance
They say people are still leaving that event walking or in the car's! 😂😂😂😂
Awesome biblical lyrics brilliant james nailed it great melody..good job boys
Amazing! You will love Battery from Seattle 89 if you like this.
Metallica - Suicide and redemption live in Copenhagen 2009
Next on the list from this concert Harvester of Sorrow. You need to try it.
Them fastest song played at the CRAZIEST METAL CONCERT E V E R (I wasn't even born yet when that happened)
There was 1,6.000.000/1,7.000.000 people here
Not their fastest song, but certainly one of their best.
There are parts of this song that are so fast james can’t down pick fast enough, he up picks also.
That was total attendance, over like a 3 day event
@@C0reyTaylor8 all right
Love how you smiley while hearing it. You are amazing!
Over a million people at the show, amazing.
Thank you very much for this, I still remember when ride the lightning came out, I was probably 12-13 and it was a phenomenal album, still love it to this day.
Jason come back !!!!! Pure energy .....
The guy is old lol like the rest of metallica. Go back to the 80s smh
Always a good time when Jason gets the 🎤
“Creeping Death”..is what I’m experiencing…we all do in the end.
30 years later and nearly at the end of the queue for the bathroom now
Ain't a band that can stand on the same stage as metallica, now or then, so shut up boy & go back to listening to bands who try to be metallica
@@Krow-go3ps what in the fuck u on about
Went back & checked my comment after gotta comment from Ifinessed Urmum & laughed my ass off at myself! Cause I was obviously drinking not thinking, thanks to you for calling me out, my apologies, was upside-down & twisted up
@@Krow-go3ps XD lol
@@jeffvangolf2188 🤘🍺🤘
WOW! Epic scenes never to be repeated again! Estimated 1 million people and Metallica in their peak! Your smiles during the whole video made it for me! Legendary performance, and this song is just a beast, on my top 3 Metallica songs ever....easily. You should really hear the studio version to absob all of it. Great reaction!
I saw them in 88. I ran into endless mosh pits all night. General admission fairgrounds
I saw Metallica back in these days and when I see them now.. I just remember.. yeah this band used to be this the band you see before you in this video. That level of energy was every show back then. So intense, so fun and crazy.. I feel lucky to have experienced a lot of these bands back in the day in their prime.
I'm with you. I saw them on the Black album tour more than 30 times during that 4 years they toured from 91-95. s
@@Frostrazor yeah I saw them quite a few times during the same era including with GNR. Etc good times
It's kinda surreal that Metallica are no longer really talked about in main stream music, of course not forgotten but, just replaced? I mean look at that crowd !!!
This video is going to put me on a Metallica binge for the next few weeks
To the poster: You should watch the whole gig, it is amazing. Also, it was not only fans of Metallica, it was a festival with 1.6 million people. You should also watch the interview with Lars Ulrich with Conan O'Brien (this was not in the talk show) where he tells about the feelings regarding to the enf oc the cold war and how it felt to be in Russia after that so soon as an American band.
That huge crowd wasn't there cuz they were metallica fans but only because that was the very first live show after URSS fall,it was like a celebration for their freedom.
Most of them were there because of the headliner AC/DC.
@@KevinQ1989 True. Most of them left talking about the Metallica performance though.
@@flameofudun8447 Truth!
"So let it be written, so let it be done"
Metallica blew everybody away and soon it would be "One."
💀🤘😋
@@tallycahamuhlhetru26 Pantera owned Metallica that day sis.
Don't get it twisted.
1.6 million in the crowd. Absolutely nuts
best concert in history!!!!
I seen them off the Black album tour but not here but in Sacramento Cow. Center an the crowd was just as huge an the Moshing crowd was really big
La mejor versión de Creeping Death de todos los tiempos! Una verdadera patada en los dientes!
Creeping Death sin Jason dejó de ser Creeping Death

Sin duda, usted lo dijo
Finally they play a thrashy hit now let’s start requesting all the best ones ! Battery or whiplash Seattle or fight fire with fire at hammer fest with cliff that’s a must see Lars is just a beast and trapped under ice Mexico City ! Underrated song there
I was lucky enough to see them in 88’, 90, 91, and 2017
They were so fuckin un stop able back in the day and they are still doing it
All one point six million people just got their face melted off 🔥🖤 Hell fire..RRR yeah 🤘😃👍
Legends. Enough said.🤘🤘🤘🤘🔥🔥🔥🔥
1,6 million people there
Epic!!! Harvester of Sorrow from this show should be coming in the next few weeks.
Just gotta brag I caught the concert several weeks after this in Berlin head lined by my other favorite band AC/DC. Please watch Riff Raff in Paris 79 with the legend Bon Scott RIP.
Caught this tour 4x’s being front row once! Neck would hurt for days after. Lol
Now, you guys are ready for "Battery" in Seattle of 89. It's a complete juggernaut!
Glad you guys loved it. I was going to do this one first but then I thought I should save the best for last. Suzie Q it means a lot to me as a big Metallica fan for me to give you your favorite Metallica performance thank you
Iron Maiden - Phantom of the Opera
Amazing Lars
Master of Puppets live Seattle ‘89
Greatest metal frontman.unstoppable!
The Memory Remains
This was the video sometime told me to watch to introduce me to Metallica. Been a fan ever since.
Check Out Metallica's Seattle 1989 Concert! It's going to Blow Your Mind 🤯 and most likely even more than the Moscow Performance....
1.6 million people in that crowd, I could be wrong but I've heard more than 50 people died that day...
Fantastic reaction! Battery or Whiplash next from Seattle 1989.
This is the show where they played before MORE THAN 1 MILLION people!!!
Kia ora from New Zealand. Was at their 1993 concert in Auckland - fucking epic doesn't come close to the feeling of the show! Nga Mihi x
You muuuust react to battery love Seattle 1989. You’re minds will be blown to pieces
Metallica...in their prime and at their finest🤟
Check out Master Of Puppets: Seattle 89 if you want to see Metallica in full effect..awesome performance
World record with audience, over one million.
Lars looked like he tapped into Bill Ward of Sabbath here
Exactly what i though.
Excellent grooves and syncopation with the bass , the fills are so organic and not predictible
I was 19 years old when they were giving that concert. I was in my military service and I dreamed to be there feeling, so powerfull sound, among these crowd..30 years later, I am here seeing yours reaction to this ,simply it is priceless..thank you!! guys..greetings from Chile-Southamerica, sorry for my bad inglish, I hope that you understand me..but the real and good music got not frontiers 🤟🤘🎸🎵🎶🇨🇱🇨🇱🇨🇱. Yeeeaaaahh!!!
Jason. 'nuff said.
Kill 'Em All and Ride The Lightning are Thrash Metal at it's finest. Metallica rules.
I wish I could go back there in a time machine..
Metallica still going strong.
They just hit 40 yrs

Worst feeling possibly, your the next Band.
I saw them twice on that tour....tickets? about $25 per show. ha
Happy Easter
There's nothing like good ol' 80s metal. Still badass today.
Forget Metallica; a Keytar!? Awesome
8:05 miss you Jason
Fuel live 2000
React iron maiden the prisoner live at hammersmith 1982
Some people are still going home from that concert.
I believe if you took all those extra endings from each song and combine them, it's longer than most of bands entire careers
