I used ChatGPT many time daily and in general it's great at saving me from having to search multiple forums for answers, basically saving a lot of time. At first it did get a lot wrong, but the latest model seems to be a lot more accurate. My problem with Apple is that they're using AI to deliver cringy tacky looking features like their image generator that looks like cheap clipart from the 1990's! How about actually making Siri work really well, make it provide accurate answers and better understand context and enable full conversations, that would be way more useful for most people who can afford a high end iPhone. How about using AI to improve camera image processing, improved noise reduction, get rid of their excessive over sharpening, improved scene analysis for more dynamic images without over brightened shadows, or 5x pics that sometimes look like a blown up JPG from a 1 Mpix camera! They seem to focus on gimmicks rather than actual useful features that AI could be really useful for!
100% on everything you said. I’m old enough to have seen the first pagers, personal computers, mobile phones, mobile phone cameras, DVD players, the Walkman, CD players, cloud hosted services, streaming everything and so this iteration of Apple Intelligence is a big steaming nothing burger. Maybe someday, but today it’s all gimmicky and not ready for prime time.
0:48 1000 dollar phone which they intentionally crippled by not having enough ram. Tim Cook said in a recent interview that they started developing Apple intelligence sometime back in 2017. So they definitely knew the requirements for having these AI models run on device. I mean it’s crazy how the phone you got last year is “obsolete” for Apple intelligence. Almost all the Apple intelligence features are crappy. Except for the ai rewrite tool maybe. That’s the only thing I can see any use for, being a non native English speaker.
I think he’s lying about Apple intelligence being in development since 2017, or at least stretching the truth. Apple Intelligence so garbage compared to the others and it’s also extremely late to the game. It seems like an obvious rush job.
You are pulling that directly out of your ass. There is a zero percent chance Apple was developing Apple Intelligence for seven years. Nobody was even thinking about LLM’s back then, they didn’t gain any mainstream noteworthiness until 2020.
Check the appleinsider article. “Apple Intelligence has been seven years in the making, says Cook”. Back in 2017 we built a neural engine into our products," he continued. "It was already apparent that AI and machine learning were huge... It became obvious that we had to divert lots of people to it, that it would be a new era for our products." We knew but we intentionally made our old devices outdated for our crappy on-device AI is the message I’m getting.
Using Image Playground as a Black person is deplorable. It adjusts all of my images into making me look like something scarey I would be afraid to show kids as the images look like monsters. I will never use that crap again.
Too bad it didn’t work for you. It produced fine images for me. I’m not light skinned or dark skinned, somewhere in the middle. I’m not mixed either. All black parents and grandparents. It seems like results will vary. Either way it’s a gimmick that I won’t use outside of the app at all.
Apples cameras have always been disappointing for black people, and makes my skin look muddy and flat when other cameras don’t. I use Snapchat camera when I can honestly. It’s funny how Apple brags about their cameras every year but they’re quite bad for darker skinned people. The AI playground… not too bad for me but it’s overall a bad app anyways
Glad I’m not the only one. I was questioning my whole life wondering if i truly was that ugly. I still might be, but Apple didn’t need to shove it in my face 😂
It cannot be stressed enough how the bigger tech RUclipsrs let their audience down regarding Apple Intelligence. It should have been a major scandal, but they seemed to sweep it under the rug. They mentioned it, but what Apple did was false advertising and warranted much more attention and to be called out for what it was.
I've now been conditioned to say "Goooood mornon" to myself before I click play on any Tailosive Tech video. And I'm disappointed if that's not how the video starts, haha. This video did not disappoint.
until Chat GPT blew up in popularity i was under the impression that Apple's Siri was doing what Chat GPT was doing. i did not know Siri was so dump it needed Chat GPT as backup for actual AI answers. so now i was wondering what was Siri doing this whole time? was it only able make schedules and look up restaurants and nothing more?
To be fair, ChatGPT is pretty good at getting really basic obvious stuff wrong. And don’t even get me started on (what I presume are) the new AI Siri voices. As with all AI voices, they lack intonation, mispronounce common words and generally sound like someone in the depths of depression who hates their job and can’t bring themself to sound enthusiastic about anything. Relatively speaking, the previous voices sounded far more life-like.
Another problem I've found is the new voicemail. It is great if your phone is in signal range, you are not in a call, and you choose not to answer for whatever reason. However, if for whatever reason your phone is unable to answer the call, because you are already in a call, there's no phone signal, it has a dead battery or whatever, then it falls back to your carrier's voicemail, and at least on the network my girlfriend uses, you don't get voicemail notifications from the carrier if the live voicemail feature is enabled, but you do if you go into the settings app and disable live voicemail. As for me, I have voicemail disabled on my carrier, I found I was receiving voicemails from scam callers in the middle of the night when my phone was on do not disturb, and I figured out I needed to disable voicemail in a second place.
iOS 18 has been SO buggy for me. I’ve never had this many bugs with any iOS ever. Apps disappear off my home screen and some of the icon images won’t show. It’s just so buggy.

I was charging my phone at apple recently and a sales rep came up to me and said we are doing a session for apple intelligence. I love that he included me and he even gave me a charger to charge my phone while I attend the session but the mail feature didn’t even work! And the genmoji didn’t even work.
I was pretty pissed off when they shatter the iPhone 15 users by not giving them Apple intelligence. But after seeing the pitiful functionality of the same, I’m just happy I didn’t bite the bullet and get a 16. I’m gonna switch to an android phone soon. Gemini seems like a really useful model.
The privacy claims, like Apple Intelligence, have been greatly oversold on iOS. They’re still sending and analyzing your data to Cupertino and Apple says so themselves. Apple was one of the first companies to scan the pictures on your device for "troublesome" content. How do you think they do this? What kind of dashboards do they have for your pictures in Cupertino? How do you think they analyze false positives? You can look up the topic from security specialists on RUclips. DO NOT trust any claims about privacy and AI unless you’re hosting the LLM yourself.
Apple intelligence is so bad. I haven’t been able to find a use case for any of it. Image playground is bad. Siri is still useless. Genomji would be cool if I was in middle school or high school
I do agree with most of this, however what I would say is this current Siri was never supposed to be better. Yes you’ve got chat gpt, but Siri on its own isn’t supposed to be better until 18.4
Actually Siri is split into 2 parts. 18.1 improved it’s ability to understand speech a little better, like stumbling over your words when setting a timer it will still understand. 18.2 added the ChatGPT integration. 18.4 is supposed to add the “context aware” features where you can tell Siri to pull up your itinerary that is split across different apps like mail, messages and GPS. So Siri has been improved so far, but you’re right it is marginal until 18.4 comes out to deliver the rest of it.
I’m waiting for a good compact flagship to release so that I can make the jump. I’ve had enough of iOS. The OS stability post iOS 15 has been pissing me off. Plus the generous amounts of ram on android devices is enticing the tab hoarder in me to switch. Rn my iPhone keyboard just keeps stuttering inside the browser when I have too many tabs open.
@@pneuma23093I’m not saying iPhone is best for everything but the ram on androids is worse for same amount of ram and idk how much more ram you need to compensate for that when iPhones already have 8gb
I’m kinda pissed at Apple. My Apple pencil just stopped working mid use. Took it to the Genius Bar but because I forgot the device they didn’t have the serial number so they said they couldn’t help me because they couldn’t read the serial number on the pencil. All the forums I read is that an issue with IpadOS 18.1.1 and 18.2 will just cause the pencil to not be recognized.
The things you said you like about have been Android features for years, my Pixel 6 has the magic eraser, and Gemini suggested text responses seem natural for quick answers
I think the lesson in all this is that hardware and software cycles are NOT in lockstep. The software will be ready when it's ready, but the hardware capable of running it has to come first. You can't expect everything on day 1.
Yes, if Apple had done what creators wanted, rush out a non-ready Apple Intelligence then they would, guess what, be making the same flexing videos! Anyway as the disclaimer says, Apple Intelligence is beta, and for those upset at beta bugs and development should withdraw from the beta and wait for the public release. I have a Pixel 8 Pro and there is no AI that I use. For me, and probably 90% of phone users AI is not that useful at the moment.
@@andyH_England The issue here is that Apple may have overpromised on their AI integration. There was no need to hype AI features if they were not ready to deliver on them. I've been using ChatGPT since its launch, and it has worked perfectly for me. Integrating AI into iOS wasn't something users explicitly demanded, so this move feels unnecessary. Apple could have focused on improving its existing features instead. We shall keep judging them based on their promise.
@@davidkafambe1037 Apple did what any sensible company would when faced with a new feature like AI, they set the ball in motion, but have done it slowly and surely as they understand it is in its infancy and there is no rush. The same with marketing, look at Microsoft and CoPilot, Samsung, and YT creators all marketing AI, why point to Apple not them as well? It is because Apple is the usual target for flexing. They would be utter fools not to market it when rivals are squeezing AI marketing to its limit. You must understand this so it is surprising that you express that view.
I turned off Siri long time ago, and got no plans to turn it on ever again, they just have to let us install and use other assistants and shut down this thing forever
I hope that Apple will focus more on the performance side in iOS 19. They should do something similar to what they’ve done with iOS 12 back in the day. They added a lot of features during the recent iterations, but they are really buggy. For instance, at least in my case airdrop almost never works. It either does the animation but the files do not transfer, or NameDrop overwrites airdrop. Another thing is that my contacts names rewrite themselves as the username of the contact in question. So I feel like, for iOS 19 they should keep all of the devices that support IOS 18, but make the software more…usable 🥶.
My daughter has a Realme C67, a low level Android midrange, where the Google Keyboard has the Emoji Kitchen built in and it’s fantastic! The emojis look funny and silly and overall more accurate 😢
I’m glad someone said how they feel about Apple Intelligence. I’ve had random reboots using apps even the camera and messages. The screen unresponsive is frustrating and I’ve had several other issues with the AI features. First time having an Apple that I am really disappointed.
When I replace my current iPhone SE 2nd Gen with an iPhone 16e (assuming that is what they end-up calling the SE 4) next spring, I’ll definitely play around with the Apple Intelligence features for curiosity’s sake, but they’re nothing I’m desperately waiting for the opportunity to try out.
Idk the writing features on device that rewrite things are really useful to have integrated. I don’t want to have to open a third party keyboard or copy and paste and copy back I use it every day emailing my clients
I agree with you, but since I’m trying to create animation short films I think image playground might be helpful for Visual Nourishment But definitely doesn’t deserve all that hype
Since I updated my Apple’s Siri, it seems to have become quite lazy. Most of my questions are now being directed to ChatGPT in text format, and Siri is even too lazy to respond verbally.

Agreed apple has completely become a meme. Time to switch to Android. Thanks for the motivation!
Great job Tailosive Tech! Funny and sadly accurate commentary.
Turning off 5G in Colorado saves 15-20% battery for me and usually runs even slower than LTE
The things you said you like about have been Android features for years, my Pixel 6 has the magic eraser, and Gemini suggested text responses seem natural for quick answers
"...forceful wisdom to be embraced..." 😂🤣 Thank you! This line made my day!
I know it’s their own fault for advertising is it as such but we haven’t seen the half of it yet.
And it’s all still in beta too!
Of course you can expect day one features. What kind of flawed logic is this?
@@andriytroyan3888right? The Apple defenders r becoming more laughable. They will never criticize “their” company
I turned off Siri long time ago, and got no plans to turn it on ever again, they just have to let us install and use other assistants and shut down this thing forever
i’ve been using the object removal and search in photos but other than that everything is useless.
Does anyone know why messages aren’t on CarPlay?
Even on Android Galaxy AI is also a joke.
Apple is getting similar to boeing.. cash flow , no innovation
12:11 I’ve never laughed this hard at a joke in an opinion-based RUclips channel! 🤣🤣🤣
8:14 you’re allowed to AI edit passport photos in the US???
I totally agree with you. The only thing I use as well is the Clean up feature. Also, I still curse the Photos app. It is horrible.
Idk the writing features on device that rewrite things are really useful to have integrated. I don’t want to have to open a third party keyboard or copy and paste and copy back
I use it every day emailing my clients
Siri isn’t getting an overhaul until 18.4 this was always the case.
It’s not finisher yet!
I agree with you, but since I’m trying to create animation short films I think image playground might be helpful for Visual Nourishment
But definitely doesn’t deserve all that hype
Apple needs to stop it with the gimmicks and fix the basics. Siri is worst than ever in iOS18.2
The concept is great, implementation was sold at a higher expectation - it’s in beta, let’s hope it gets better as AI improves in general
Apple Intelligence is so useless that I disabled the feature entirely only a week after launch.
I think that besides the cleanup feature and rewriting features, or proofreading stuff AI on device isn’t that useful yet.
Don't even get me started on the email inbox auto categorisation.
Freakin' nailed it, Drew!!! 🙂
I don’t see why the older phones can’t get ChatGPT integrations, since its all off device anyway
Since I updated my Apple’s Siri, it seems to have become quite lazy. Most of my questions are now being directed to ChatGPT in text format, and Siri is even too lazy to respond verbally.
THANK YOU FOR *ONLY* HONEST REVIEW I HAVE SEEN ON RUclips!!!
I bought the iPhone 15 Pro max a year ago when it came out, anticipating the Apple intelligence upgrades... What an utter disappointment.
I have a 15 Pro, everything was pretty cool for the first 3 days, notification summary, mail summaries, auto reply, but slowly I just turned everything off lol
What about siris integration with Chat gpt. I love it
@@sammyjammy6647 its too slow, advanced voice mode or even just google is better
Remember, many of the features of Apple Intelligence still haven't been rolled out yet. Ask this question again by May 2025 when iOS 18.4 (possible iOS 18.5) with many more Apple Intelligence features are "turned on."
Hey Siri, tell my GF I love her.
AI - I love her.
GF - Who TF is her??
2024 apple year in review
The photos app is the worst change. Idk if I can but I would revert back to iOS 17 in a heartbeat to have the old photos layout. It’s all over the place now with no order
I absolutely love my ChatGPT. Another product would basically need to exceed the features of the AI from the film ‘Her’.
Thanks to your video, I have now turned off my Apple Intelligence as well. It's about as "intelligent" as a wet carrot.
The new photos app sucks so bad. It's definitely better on the Galaxy and OnePlus.
