I'm really excited on seeing how the mini PC market evolves in the future as chips become more powerful and efficient.
Also, I'd take a look at intel mini PCs if they didn't have the brand tax where I'm from. The K9 costs $1099 (32GB + 1TB SSD) here from "official" importers and that's just damn crazy bro.
In contrast I had a little beelink SER5 Max (R7 5800H, 16GB DDR4, 512GB SSD) that I got on sale for $300, gave it to a friend when his PC broke.

Main benefit of a mini over a laptop in a home situation is that the power switch is on the outside. With a laptop, you can't put it out of the way so easily because you have to get it out and open it, then try to fit it back in it's shelf without accidentally unplugging it all before you can use it

It is indeed a good one. Considering it's Intel iGPU, even gaming is tolerable.
    I am jealous, it's definitely faster than my i7-4710HQ and GTX860M. :)
    Thanks for the video.

Although the blender score looks impressive while looking isolated at it (780m only reaches around 289), even a now 5 years old entry level mobile chip like the 2060 max-q runs circles around it with 1.400 points.
When blender is something you're planning to do, there is (unfortunately) simply no way around a Nvidia card for now.
    Great review as always Hubwood!

Absolutely. Blender favours Nvidia. Still thought it's impressive that you COULD use it for blender as a beginner or for simpler projetcs.
BUT, you could even attach a cheap eGPU for Blender ;) Works exceptionally well. Will cover that in the future. And thanks ✌

@@Hubwood Good day I watched your comparisons between the MX 450 and GTX 1050 mobile but I noticed the GTX 1050 mobile was 4gb I planned to get a gaming laptop but over here where i stay the talk of getting a 4gb dedicated laptop is too expensive and I don't want a nine series GPU with 4gb since the Pascal GPUs support direct 12. Would it be better to get the MX 450 ddr6 as I believe it's a bit better than the GTX 1050 4gb not In all cases but should be better than the 2gb variant if at all I can find it.
      Please guide me.

Appreciate the review! Would it be possible to swap that top fan with say, a 40mm 5V Noctua 4pin, or any others for that matter?

Yes that should be absolutely possible

You can if you are good with some re-wiring skills or you have the right adaptor to make it easier, its a whiney annoying little fan that doesnt cool the nvmes. It also uses a laptop style blower which ramps up and down so can be a tad noisy. Great mini computer, but the fans, cooling and intel Arc drivers are messy and buggy have let it down a bit. If you can go with AMDs 7840 or newer 8th series mini pcs or wait a few months for Ryzens 300Ai replacement cpu which is already coming to laptops next month. PM if you need any other info

Why don't you compare the Cinebench/3DMark/Geekbench scores against other mini PCs and laptops? You've reviewed plenty to have enough data for a chart

The animated fade in and out to a new subject is incredible annoying. Just my advice to change it or get rid of it. Thx
