it realy cool that you published a video, that was sitting there for over one year. Also very nice take on the optional theme. I actually think the one room mecanic reflects the time back then better, than a camera following the player.
Scrolling would have 'smeared' the pixels on an original Nokia if they move too fast. Plus, separated rooms just read better visually. Gotta think about your medium. ;3 I like the spikes and the little guy, for some reason. I think there was some sort of 'Pitfall' clone for the Nokia, and I am somehow flashing back to that. Aw, yee. This message was brought to you by The Brick Phone Gang~ XD
Not the 3310, but both my grandparents had a Nokia 1100 at one point. I used to play Snake and Space Impact II whenever I got the chance. That's some good memories.
The editing is fantastic! I like the game too. I did have a Nokia where I played snake when little, but because my family couldn't afford a smartphone.
Did you ever used the Monster Capsule 3D game engine at any point of your experience with videogames? Also, this showcase video is fantastic! Great work, sir!
It's not in the topic of the video. But I noticed on RUclips, that many man, like not femboys or trans person, are painting their nails. Is it some new trend? Or does it fulfill some function?
I missed the "hey there, how's it going"
Me too😢
Blud disappeared then randomly decided to hit the grind

it's so cool how even under less familiar constraints your sprite art is so consistently cute and readable!

Nokia 3310 was my first phone, I spent most of my time playing snake... I still have one, it still works and I still play snake
Man the editing on this video is awesome! Welcome back vimlark :)

Instead of the hole, making the thing an actual keyhole shape might have made it more obvious
I didn't have the space sadly. Couldn't make a key hole readable in 4px X 4px which is the space I had to work with.
You should called it "no key! Argh!"
I had this phone for several years in high school, beat Space Impact and Snake many times, I would've loved to play this game back then
Ya know, I remember being there when you made this. It felt like just a good bit ago.
You know its a good day when a Vimlark vid comes out!

I have so much nostalgia for cell phone and graphing calculator games.
I kinda like the screens changing instead of scrolling because it matches more with th medium
U can really kill bugs with that phone
we are getting more uploads lets go!
also i feel like people would be proud you didn't participate in a game jam
The 3310 was my second phone (my first was a hand me down weird prototype Ericsson from my uncle) and had it in 9th grade.

It seems easy to make one.
Maybe even something like a gameboy game could be made with the same thought process
Nice job vimlark, it's a pretty cool little game
I discovered your channel today.
Your content is amazing and inspires me a lot.
It helps me learn English too =)
I didnt know this jam existed, so cool
Nice to see you back!
that looks so fun :) can't wait to play later!
THE LEGEND IS BACK!
The legend is back when we needed him most
Great video !
My first mobile phones didn't even had games on them and the first time I used a phone at all it was stationary and had dial disc.
I was just a bit later than you I think. Didn't have a rotary phone but did have a land line with the cord until I was about 16.
I played on that phone back in the day, it was my first mobile.
Looks awesome!
I thing the Game really looks and plays like a old Nokia game.
I really like this.
0:50 bro had snake 2 😂
Snake on EVERY Plane
@@timothymclean airplanes as well? 😂
0:57 no way it's the hand
Good ol nokia... how I miss you
What about actual game for nokia?
How do I make a game for a phone?
2nd video of 2024!!
Commenting for the algorithm
my goat is back
You're good RUclipsr
where did you get the sound effects? if it is in the video, i couldn't find it. Its like music!
I think they were form a humble bundle sound pack I bought a few years ago.
@@Vimlark Thanks! i really didn't think you would answer.
My question is dase this game play In the original hardwer ?
It probably isn't compiled in a format that Nokia phones can read.
Most likely not. I have no clue what the code formatting would have been back then
@@Vimlark probably some form of jave if not mistaken
I’m a bit late for the algorithm but have a comment anyway
:DDD
Tee hee 😊
Obligatory First

It looks pretty.
Can't speak for anyone else but for me it's because I like it. It makes me happy so I guess that would be the function.
