But or Rent - School of Rock - • School of Rock
Overly enthusiastic guitarist Dewey Finn (Jack Black) gets thrown out of his bar band and finds himself in desperate need of work. Posing as a substitute music teacher at an elite private elementary school, he exposes his students to the hard rock gods he idolizes and emulates -- much to the consternation of the uptight principal (Joan Cusack). As he gets his privileged and precocious charges in touch with their inner rock 'n' roll animals, he imagines redemption at a local Battle of the Bands. Развлечения
Jack Black said this character is the closest to his personality and how he really is as a person. The whole scene with him forming their band was mostly improvised
Wait really it was improvised ?
My favorite part about this movie is how, even at the beginning when he's not a good teacher, it's immediately clear he's good with kids
RIP to Kevin Clark(aka Freddy the drummer). He was unfortunately struck by a car while on his bicycle in 2021
Can't believe nobody has mentioned Jack Black in *Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle* from 2017, the best Jumanji movie.
Shallow Hal is another Jack Black comedy with Gwyneth Paltrow too
It's unique jack black teach rock music to middle school students while most music teacher only teach their students classical or jazz music.
Actually, these are elementary school students.
The highlight of Jack Black's career as an actor and voice actor. This movie made me rock and roll. I love this movie. Super cool. The students were very skilled. It was sad about the passing of Kevin Clark aka Freddy Jones.
"Summer" (the lil' over-achiver girl) is played by Miranda Cosgrove. She'd later have more success in a TV series called "iCarly". Source: my daughter was a teenager when the show was on. Funny thing about the 'backup singer audition' scene..I've heard from her and other fans of the show that Miranda can actually sing quite well - she just faked not being very good for this role. Good reaction, man! You may not know much about Classic Rock, but you sure know movies. I think you called almost every plot point before it happened! Oh, and the last song they played was an old AC/DC song. "It's a Long Way to The Top If You Wanna Rock 'n' Roll".
This is my favorite Jack Black movie.
If you look on RUclips they did a 10 year reunion which was good they all played the song from the concert.
The drummer was tragically killed when someone hit him off of his bicycle just a few short years ago. Not sure exactly when
This movie is amazing!! Such a classic ❤
It's a song by the Carpenters called Bless the Beasts and the Children. Early 70's tune
SO this my fave movie ever and i know every word legit to the entire script, so welcome aboard
and kevin clark was my first celebrity crush, may he rest in peace
Fun Fact: That main girl Summer, is Miranda Cosgrove, she went on to do the show iCarly 😊
Don't forget Drake and Josh😊😊😊😊
@@pricemoore2022lol how you can tell you’re probably dealing with someone younger.
@@SusanaCanales1I usually have a crush on her😊😊😊😊
@@SusanaCanales1 I'm 24, I just forgot about drake and josh cause I didn't like it
So THAT'S where I recognized her from! Thanks😊.
I love this movie so much
Jack Black is a legend
Begged my mom and dad to get this movie on dvd after we watched thisnin theatres. Really got me into rock and metal. Love this movie and love Jack Black.
This is one of my comfort movies ♥
Stage dive into crowd surfing.
100,000 a year as a teacher? Most of ours don't make 1/2 that. Regardless of experience..
Check out Airborne (1993) it was Jack Black when he still played a high school kid.
My mom was running an eBay business in 2000 lmao you could 100% sell a guitar on their at that time
Check out JACK BLACK asks permission from Led Zeppelin to use Immigrant Song for the movie School of Rock.... Only Jack😂😂😂
JACK BLACK IS AWESOME!
What a pleasant surprise! This is a favorite of mine
I feel like all the stuff you were saying about 2023 was still possible in 2003
Such a fun movie!!!!
jack black is crazy
Joan Cusack is just the best, isn’t she?
They are called Roadies. The girl followers of the are called groupies.
SHALLOW HAL is a MUST WATCH!!!
This isn't Jack Black. But it's great and it's based on true events. I recommend "The Miracle Worker". "The Miracle Worker" is based on Helen Keller and how she learns to communicate. She is deaf-blind. So she can't see and hear. (She became deaf-blind after having an illness as a baby.) Therefore, she had trouble communicating. So, she often threw a fit. More often than not it was communication related. After having enough, the Kellers ask Anne Sullivan to help. Anne Sullivan comes into the Keller's lives at a crucial time and becomes "Teacher" . So, she teaches Helen American Sign Language with Helen's remaining senses. And it changes everything as communication barriers are broken down between Helen and her family.
#inspirational #helenkeller #miracleworker
Great reaction. It is good that Canada pays teachers well, the US pays them crap.
This movie was the vibe of my home growing up, my whole family was a bunch of rock n rollers who were against "the man" and such weirdos 😂 I love this movie with a passion, and the songs actually are really good!
Jack does have some crazy eyebrow emotion. Apparently Peter Jackson had to keep it under control in King Kong
Watch this with Jane, please.
This was a lot of fun, it’s been a while since I’ve seen this!
If you like this you'll LOVE Whiplash 🎉🎉🎉🎉

There are people that went to school and are as dumb as a brick or never made it anywhere in life, then there are those who either never went or dropped out who are very intelligent or successful. It isn't the be all and end all, and they teach so much unnecessary stuff.
Sounds like you need to get acquainted with some Pink Floyd, my friend. 🤘🏽💗
I know you like Tenacious D so you may have already seen Tenacious D and the Pick of Destiny. If not, you’d love it as a fan.
Left the 5 star review👍
Cool idea, I’ll have to start listening to them while doing stuff.
Awesome reaction of my favorite movie!!!!😊😊😊😊

+1 Shallow Hal (2001)

I love this movie. It was my first time seeing jack black. And i agree he is great in everything even movies that are just awful.
You need to watch Shallow Hal with your wife ❤
I feel like you'd enjoy the live action Peter Pan from 2003.

Can you check out spiderwick chronicles
Jv please check out Spiderwick chronicles and 2009 Film 9
Watch nacho libre & shallow Hal
No offense to teachers, but that 100k stat you gave is insane. I think a lot of teachers do the bare minimum and so their teaching styles and lessons are not that creative. They also need to have some sort of charisma or enthusiasm that gets students excited. Very few teachers I've had in my life fit these parameters. I definitely don't think they deserve over 100k a year.
I was forced to waste my life in mandatory public school starting in 1960. I had one great teacher in elementary school, two great teachers in junior high, one great teacher in community college. Four total. The rest mediocre or forgettable.
Waste of my time!
Yo idk if you react to series but could you watch 101 dalmatian street
You should watch bridge to terabithia (2007) :)
I did. It's on my Patreon 😭😭😭
Yo JV I have a movie I would watch Scooby doo on zombie island it’s great nice review and have a nice day
I love that movie saw it sixteen times in theaters
Yeyyyy such a good movie!
No one really understands technology. Everything that exists today has existed since the 50's, the only difference is things are smaller, because it's digital, not analog, and it's more affordable. I had a friend in the early 80's who did his own music. He played all the instruments, and layered all his tracks on floppy, he had a Kurzweil that set him back about $15,000.00. Today people do it on a PC at a 10th to a 15th the price, and it's digitally saved. Prior to the 80's everything was analog, people did the same thing only with Reel to Reel.
Everything Elon Musk is building, today, was Already REJECTED by Nasa, in the 50's and 60's, for various reasons, but people don't know these things, so they "think" Musk is some kind of "genius", which he isn't...he's nothing but Bill Gates 2.0, and we all know what people think of Gates now. 😂
Right. It's too bad that 20 years ago, you used to need to have talent to get a music deal. Which explains why there's so much forgettable, regrettable crap on social media.
True to an extent, but even back then people were getting record deals for doing the bare minimum lol. Vanilla ice sold millions of records despite the fact he was mediocre at best, flo rida was popular for years with minimal talent, Kesha was on the radio for years even though she’s your basic pop star with little talent in signing and songwriting. Every generation has artists that suck, but the team behind them make them passable. I mean we have Billie Eilish now who has minimal vocal range and a standard songwriting talent but people act like she’s revolutionary. You will constantly have this.
@@davidfairweather3301 I can top that. Try to sit through Lou Reed’s “Metal Machine Music”. My point still stands. In an age in which an “artist” doesn’t have to convince a record company to sign a contract, they only have to convince gullible people to stream their music. My point stands.
Roadies.
Jack Black is very funny in the school of rock movie.
best jack black movie by far for me, only thing that is even close to as good is kung fu panda but thats animated so he gets a little less credit for me
Hey JV! Just hearing the news that we can leave a movie suggestion if we left a 5 star review on your Podcast! I did this when you first shared your Podcast update, would be under the name “April”. If possible, my movie suggestion would be 1988 My Neighbor Totoro (English Dubbed). Much appreciated🚀🪐🌏
