About the Johnny Depp allegations/drama that you briefly talked about, there were allegations of Johnny hitting his (then) wife, Amber, but it turned out that she was the aggressor in the situation and he was the victim. There's still court cases ongoing (as far as I'm aware) but with all the evidence that came out it's pretty obvious that she was the one who was physically and mentally abusing him and not the other way around. #JusticeforJohnny
Edit: fixed a typo, thanks for all the likes btw!
I appreciate you for commenting this, I was going to do it if nobody else did. It’s really sad what’s happening to him, I hope that justice is served.
so true it baffles me how many people take her side in it when she was the bad one not johnny
And his ex got fired from Aquaman 2 because of the crap she pulled. Also I thought they already ruled in his favor
@@patrickkanas3874 wow really? I thought she was still on it! Boy am I out of the loop
@@hallyhop correction. She's still on Aquaman 2 but there's petitions to have her fired. And apparently Depp countersued her and they're going to court with it. I also heard that Depps accusations against Heard were denied due to proof of civil standard
I honestly think Barbossa’s “I feel… cold.” is just heartwrenching. I know he’s a terrible man, but I really wanted him to at least have a taste of an apple before he went.
Yeah, Barbosa is such a good antagonist because all he wants is to feel something again, taste something, feel satisfied. A lot of villain motivations feel far-fetched or unrelatable, but this is just a universal human feeling he's being deprived of. And yes, he's a terrible person but he's still a person.
But........he shot him BEFORE he dropped the gold back in the chest. The bullet was already through him doing no damage whatsoever. How could it hurt him BEFORE the piece was replaced. Or cause damage AFTER it was replaced if the bullet was already through him?
Sorry lol. This is literally my ONE peeve with this movie. The rest is perfect.
@@natecloe8535 how do you know it wasn’t lodged in him? Those bullets don’t travel fast.
@@natecloe8535 The shot was fresh. Right after the curse was lifted, it takes affect. same with some of the pirates who were purging Norrington's men. The moment the become human again some drop dead on the floor. their wounds start to take affect.
@@natecloe8535 From what I could tell they don't heal immediately. In fact, I don't think we have actually seen direct evidence of them healing without going into the moonlight and than out again, though I'm sure they do heal without having to go all skeleton.
Point is, so shortly after being shot, the hole through his body was probably still there
Fun fact Captain Jack Sparrow is wobbly on land because he has sea legs not because he's drunk necessarily, also he seems to walk perfectly straight whenever he's on board a ship, it even explains why he's still unsteady on land even when he's not seen to be drinking. such a small detail that can be easily overlooked but it really does sell the character more.
edit was for spelling haha
Can confirm- lived on a boat for 12 years, you get used to the swaying so walking on stable ground feels off for a while
I thought his unsteady walk was another of his quirks to make him seem more ambiguous wherever he's smart, crazy or both.
Jack Sparrow is one of my favourite cinematic characters of the entire world.
Johnny Depp was perfectly cast as Captain Jack Sparrow.
Me too.
Jack cut his hand because he also stole gold. Anyone who stole gold from the chest has to give blood and the gold back to it to break the curse. Since "Bootstrap" Bill was dead, he couldn't give his own blood back, which is why they needed a descendant's blood in his place. Which is why the curse didn't break when Elizabeth gave her blood, even though all the gold coins were returned.
Thank you for the reaction, I love this movie!
Do You mean will?
@@lunakoi565 no cause jack took it
So everyone in the crew spilled their blood?
@@mattterra9303 Yes
Bill wasn't dead, he was alive as a undead(like other cursed) in the bottom of the ocean when others from black pearl threw him over the board inside the cannon(or whatever it was). Wills blood was useable, because it was from the same bloodline.
When Captain Jack was younger, he liverated 100 slaves. That was how he was branded as a pirate, because he "stole cargo."
In the third movie, Jack tells Beckett , "people aren't cargo, mate." He's referring to that moment.
liberated you mean to say
What that explained in the movies?
@@breezy3392 Nope, but there's an entire Wikipedia page out there about Jack's life before he became a pirate that most of us, including me, take as the truth... Especially since we never learn much about who Jack was before he became a pirate. Including where all his scars that they showed off in a deleted scene between him and Elizabeth while they were on the island in the first movie came from. Or the X on his face in later movies... They never address what happened to him in the past in the movies. BUT some of us, including me, think that his Dad, Captain Edward Teague, or his unknown Mom MAY have hurt their son deliberately to make a point... His relationship with his parents seemed pretty strained to me, to put it lightly, Which is why I think either or both of his parents COULD have hurt their child to make a point.
Actually, LotR was Orlando's first movie, PotC is his second. Not bad for a starting resume. I can't even remember how many times I saw this movie in theaters lol. The commentary of Elizabeth and Norrington of this is hysterical. Also, because Jack took a piece of the gold he had to spill his blood too. Bootstrap took a piece of the gold which he then sent to Will.
His first movie was a small part in Wilde. As a rent boy of all things! This was his first major role though.
Black Hawk Down
@@TheRedPeril Legolas was before this
@@sphynxmagg7256 Orlando actually broke his back doing that movie.
Fun fact with lotr the 9 actors who were part of the fellowship (minus Gilmli's who instead stunt double) got matching elvish tattoos, Orlando got his around his wrist which can be seen briefly here
omg YES FINALLY i love this franchise!!! johnny depp is such a good actor and he’s perfect for this role, jack is really important to him and he will forever be our captain 🤍 thank u for reacting to these movies!!!
Me too ❤️
There were a couple of things I’m not sure you caught. Firstly, the hordes of treasure on the Isla de Muerta is stuff that the Black Pearl’s crew had stolen during the 10 years they were cursed. They’d sort of been stockpiling it for when they became free again. And they were only cursed for 10 years. Jack was their original Captain who was planning on going to the island himself, and then Barbossa led a mutiny against him. As for how the curse works, it’s sort of a group thing. They marooned Jack before they found it, and every crew member took at least one piece out of the chest, which is what makes you cursed. As a result they all need to pitch back in with their own blood on a coin. Once everyone who took one has done that, the curse is lifted off of all of them. That’s why lifting the curse in a sense is Will’s way of freeing his father from his torment at the bottom of the ocean (though obviously since you’ve watched the second film you know he’s part of Jones’ crew now).
Jack did say in the prison that the deepest circle of hell is reserved for mutineers and traitors sp thay was revealed very early on
i think the pirates spent all the aztec gold b4 the curse set in so they had to hunt all the pieces back so it would make sense that they would also hoarde tons of loot while getting them :D not sure where this memory is coming maybe im thinking of a whole different movie or a book or something but it sounds cool if its the case :D
how do you know that everyone who took part in the curse had to spil blood to lift it? the only explanation of that we get in the movie is they just need a Turner's blood. if they had all already spilled their blood then why did that one guy suggest they cut their throats and spill all their blood just in case? they already did it so why would they do it again?
@Jzombi Barbossa says that they’ve all proven their mettle 100 times over, and each paid the sacrifice in turn owed to the heathen gods. It’s why they needed Bootstrap’s blood in the first place. Everyone who stole a piece has to pitch in their own blood. They suggested cutting ELIZABETH’s throat to spill all hof HER blood “just in case” because they were desperate and were just tossing out ideas. Later, when they say they’ll cut Will’s neck, it’s because he’s “only half-Turner” since his father is the one who’s blood would be needed, and not his mother’s. That and they’re just ruthless pirates who kill people on a whim. They very clearly needed to all put their own bloodied coins in at some point or another, otherwise Elizabeth being a blood-sacrifice would’ve worked. They used her because they thought she was Bootstrap’s child, and that his blood would be in her veins. Will even says they need his blood because his it’s partly his father’s blood. It’s why Jack cuts his hand before tossing his coin to Will, who also cut his palm to put blood on a different coin. Jack took a coin out, he has to put a coin back in to be free of the curse.
@@Jzombi301 He never was talking about cut "their" throat but "her throat"
I mean, maybe listen and don't just braindead watch
And no, the explanation we get in a movie is they need the blood of Bootstrap Bill Turner, and since barbossa and the crew killed Bill (they say it in the movie), they need his son because it's the only family he has as well as the last coin Will was carrying when Elizabeth found him that was given by his father
They just don't clearly say it but you really have to be braindead to not understand it
Maybe not when you are watching the movie but when you think about it after it's just logic.
Such a great series! Glad you are reacting to it. While Jack does drink a lot, he isn’t always drunk when he walks awkwardly. He has developed “sea legs” from being on the water for so long. When he is on land, he sways when he walks, but when he is on the ship, he walks completely straight.
44:17 The reason Jack had to cut his hand was because originally, he wasn’t part of the crew when they stole the gold. Everyone else had paid their own blood sacrifice when returning the gold except for Bill Turner, because they threw him overboard before they knew of the curse (which is why they needed Will’s blood because he’s in the bloodline). When Jack stole the coin during the fight, that meant that he had to also pay the blood sacrifice in order for the curse to be lifted. Hope that makes sense!
All the actors trained really hard with a professionnal sword fighter who worked on countless movies, most of the scenes are them, except maybe for the dangerous stunts, but the sword fights are really Johnny Depp, Orlando Bloom, Geoffrey Rush among others, don't underestimate them
Btw, all of the PIrates of the Caribbean movies have end credit scenes :)
The Aztec curse is practically this:
Everyone who takes a coin directly from the chest as of that moment cursed. Tho you wouldn't immediately notice.
But it does the following:
- you become immortal
- you are starving but can't eat
- you are dehydrating but can't drink
- you are sexually frustrated but nothing can satisfy you
- you can't feel (in the movie they do scream several times but I gues that's just for extra spectical)
- in direct moonlight your true form is shown
All of this 24/7.
How to lift it?
- all coins must be restored in the chest
- all who suffer the curse must pay with blood
Bootstrap Bill loathed the mutiny Barbossa managed against Sparrow, so after they found the Aztec gold Bootstrap gave his coin to Will. The others threw him into the sea, binded onto a rock with his boots.. They didn't know at the time they were cursed. He had been drowing down there (without dying) ever since until the curse was broken (roughly 10 years!). What happens after I'm not gonna spoil.
That's why the pirates wanted Bootstraps kid, since apparently blood of your offspring counts as well XD.
Never before have I heard someone refer to Johnny Depp as "that guy" 😳😂
Actually, not being able to swim was quite common for the time! They made sure to get a _lot_ of details right for this first movie
all the films you say!
This movie has an amazing CGI for an early 2000s FR!!! These movies are amazing, some ppl have different opinions in the last 2 but still great as well
I'm sure someone has already said it; but Captain Jack slit his hand because he stole a piece - that's how he was capable of turning into a skeleton during the fight with Captain Barbossa. This leads to the next question - everyone had to pay by blood. Everyone took gold, that's how everyone was cursed on the crew. To return it, you return it and some blood. However. Will's father is no longer alive (he is at the bottom of the ocean). So they need his son's blood. Kinda of like "Sins of the Father" type dealio. That's the last member of the crew to return the coin - and with his son's blood, his father's blood. That would lift the curse.
I like how he actually calls him CAPTAIN Jack, instead of just Jack. He would greatly appreciate it.
I haven’t finished watching yet but I am at the part where you wondered how he could slide down the rope using his handcuffs. What he did was put his wrists together, and flung the now doubled up chain of the cuffs (like you mentioned the chain between the cuffs is quite long) over the rope, caught the end of it it with his left hand and held on tight to it while sliding down. Okay that’s all :)
I LOVE THIS SERIES! Launched my love for Kiera Knightley, Orlando Bloom, and Johnny Depp when I was in middle school. Decorated my locker with pictures of Orlando and Johnny omfg🤦🏻♀️ But seriously the first 3 movies are *chef’s kiss*👌
the curse needed the gold returned, and the blood repaid.
Will carried Bootstrap Bill's blood, so his blood was needed. Jack stole a piece before the fight, so his blood was then needed as well in the end.
I love it when you bring out the pirate accent with the hat XD
This movie totally blew me away when it first came out! I remember I saw it six times in theaters and had all the ticket stubs proudly displayed in my teenage bedroom. And I'm so glad to see it's aged so well!
Johnny Depp IS Jack Sparrow. The same way Robert Downy Jr IS Tony Stark. Just, the role they were born for. ❤❤
Totally agree
@@JVsGalacticAdventures correction it is actually Klaus Bedit who composed the first film and he is Hans Zimmer's protege !!!!!!! Hans Zimmer's first conduction and composition was here in Dead Man's Chest and he did all of them except the fifth one that was two different composers
That's because Depp MADE Jack. Disney hated the character & the first director thought that "Jack" would tank the whole movie.
Depp is a creative treasure that's for sure.
My acting professor was an extra in this… of the stories he has about that production hahaha
I forgot just HOW good this movie was, and it still holds up to this day. I watched it so much as a kid that I could probably recite half the lines while watching. The music is amazing, the visuals are amazing, and Jack Sparrow is amazing. This movie was an instant classic from the moment it came out and it deserves it.
As for the sequels, I didn't watch them as much so I barely remember them. I'm sure they're good, but if I remember correctly they were more... I dunno how to explain them. They were long and in my opinion had less rewatch-ability? Not nearly as enjoyable as the first but they were story heavy? So not bad per say, just different. The first one could have easily stood on its own without the sequels (Not that there's anything wrong with sequels)
The original trilogy is more so what I'm referring to btw. I have next to no knowledge about the 4th and 5th ones. I didn't feel they were necessary.
I typed up the script from memory wheni was 14. Only missed a few lines or words. 😆 i can only recite a handful of monologues now.
If you've not seen it, I'd recommend "Accidental Genius" since they do a Pirates of the Caribbean video explaining why the first one is so fantastic and so much more memorable than any of the sequels - and even most other movies.
@@acrefray That actually sounds very interesting! Thank you.
Seeing these movies, Harry Potter and lord of the rings in the theater was amazing! Probably some of the most rememberable films I’ve seen in theaters. It’s just a whole experience.
I was 11-13 during this time. It was so fun. Lol
@@beetlebob4675 I think I was 11 or 12 when the first Harry Potter was in theaters.
Since you mentioned it briefly I just wanted to say the problems with Johnny Depp is still ongoing but the accusations have been proven false already but it will go to trial in April
On another note I'm so excited you're watching this series it's one of my favorites 😊
Loving these live action reactions! The Pirates of the Caribbean ride at Disneyland was my favorite when I was 4 years old 😂 I was a weird child. I went on the ride like 9 times. No regrets
I don’t think you’re weird at all. I was obsessed with that ride throughout my childhood. We lived near Dland and could afford to go once a year, and Pirates was all I cared about. I’d buy my annual souvenir from the Pieces of Eight shop by the ride, and pretend to be a pirate at home
Jack cut his hand too because he had to pay back his blood once he took the coin. Everyone else had before the movie began which is why they only wanted Will's but when Jack took a coin in the cave, he too was temporarily cursed and thus had to put his own coin back with his own blood. They wanted Will's blood because he has the same DNA as his father, Bootstrap. Will did not take the coin, (his father did) hence why he wasn't cursed like the others but could still lift the curse for them
This was the movie that settle me being a fan of Hans Zimmer music - the soundtracks he creates are SO GOOD and a big fan of many of the actors, too...it's a part of my childhood and always gives me nostalgia. One of the best movies ever for me. To this day.
Fun fact. Depp agreed to do this movie with Disney because he wanted to make something for his daughter Lily Rose. He then also named his son Jack, & had the "Jack Sparrow" tattoo actually tattooed for real on his arm.
Depp also actually remade the whole character from what Disney originally had written, & just made Jack his own thing.
Depp described Jack as "this is a guy who's been on the sea for the majority of his life. Quite possibly his brains may have been scrambled a bit by the sun, and also I thought that he'd been on the sea for so long that he had his sea legs but when he got on land he just didn't have his land legs so he could never quite stand still."
Naturally disney obv hated the character & thought it would tank the whole movie, yes actually. 😑
Lol but in conclusion: Jack is the best thing that's ever happened to Disney.🖕
This movie gives me so much nostalgia Johnny is really the goat
“Ah, so there’s a supernatural element to this…”
The subtitle of the film: do I mean nothing to you?!
OML I CAN'T WAIT FOR ALL OF THOSE REACTIONS!!!!!
Pirates of the Caribbean is based on the ride at the Disney parks, but since the tides are mostly vignettes, the story is more inspired by a lot of the ride, for example the scene in jail where the pirates tries to get the keys from the dog, it's taken from the ride and Sparrow's line "The dog is never going to move." refers to the fact it never does. The whole scene at Tortuga has many references, including the women auction and the red-headed girl that slaps Jack (though she never slaps anyone in the ride).
9:52 he doesn't hang from either side of the chain be throws the chain over the rope and catches it with his hands. The cuffs never come off.
The movie is based on the Pirates of the Caribbean ride at Disneyland that opened in 1967. The scene from the ride that inspired the movie is the jail scene with the dog holding the keys.
Man the thrid one is the best of pirates of the caribbean franchise
6:10 there's tons of evidence showing he's innocent :) his trial actually starts in the next few weeks. great reaction as always, I love the pirates movies and the ride in the parks. can't wait for more reactions from you! #justiceforjohnnydepp
Yes and if Disney doesn´t throws out Amber Heard i don´t watch Aquaman 2.
I don't know if anyone has already pointed out.
When Jack takes the coins from the chest and starts dropping them in, he palms one to keep the curse from being lifted by taking on the curse.
That is why both had to cut their hands and drop the coins in.
Fun fact, in that time period, swimming wasn't actually a requirement for members of the navy. Mostly because of a variety of reasons. First, labor was cheap. It would be easy to replace a sailor by just picking up someone from port. Second, if you're in the middle of the ocean and you fall overboard, swimming's not really going to do you a lot of good. If you're in the center of the Atlantic, where are you going to swim to? Third, if there's a storm going on, or if it's the middle of a battle (the situations where you're most likely to fall overboard), there's very little chance anyone is going to notice that you've fallen into the water. And even if you could swim, it's not like you could catch up to the ship. So the attitude of a lot of sailors of the day, much better to just not know how to swim. That way, you'll drown more quickly, instead suffering by prolonging the inevitable.
Jack took a coin out of the Chest (he knew the curse wouldn't last forever) so he would be undead and un killable since he is in a room with all of his enemies. Jacks blood simply ends his share of the curse and also plays his part since he does owe blood now, and wills blood is his fathers blood that they lost many years ago. so that's why both of them cut themselves and threw the coins in together.
My "kids" were in high school when this movie came out, and they insisted that I go see it at the theatre with them. I LOVED it and became a real fan of Johnny Depp! Of all the Pirates of the Caribbean movies, it has ALWAYS been my favorite, and IMO the best one. I enjoyed watching your reaction to it, and I look forward to seeing more of your reactions. Take care.
Jack didn't want to take the treasure when he learned of the curse. So he was marooned. Bootstrap didn't go along but also didn't stop them. So was cured and dropped overboard, in deep water.
They had no way of retrieving him. So they needed his offspring to break the curse.
So likely he was alive at the bottom of the sea, until the curse was lifted or was picked apart by critters.
The reason jack cut his hand because he took a piece of the Aztec gold. When you do that, you're cursed (jack turned skeleton in the moonlight) he needed to put his blood on the coin he took to put back into the chest to lift the curse.
"I think that's a stuntman" LMFAO that's Johnny Depp bruh
Captain Jack Sparrow, played by legend Johnny Deep.
Try reading the disney pirates of the caribbean comics, it tells the life of Jack Sparrow as a youngling and his beginning life as the greatest pirate. Or try looking into The Amagi on RUclips, his videos details the life of fiction characters, including Jack himself.
Jack looks drunk and unsteady when he's walking on land because he accustomed to being on a ship and compensating for the movement.
I've spent days on a boat and had trouble walking a straight line when I got back on land.
Barbabosa's crew keep collecting treasures the ten years they have been cursed, they gather it at Isla de Muerta as they can't spend it on food and drink since they can't taste food or drink rum. They intend to spend it once the curse have been broken or would have if it wasn't of Jack, Will, Elizabeth, Jack's crew and Norrington and his crew.
It’s been almost 20 years since, I first saw this movie as a kid.

i would really love to see u react to more movies with johnny depp because he is such a versatile artist! if you like this genre i would recommend you to watch “charlie and the chocolate fabric”, “alice in wonderland” and “edward scissorshands”, if you like something funny i would say “mortdecai” or “ed wood” while if you prefer something more - demanding - i would recommend you to watch “what’s eating gilbert grape” (with leonardo dicaprio), “minamata” (his newest film!), “blow”, “black mass”, “donnie brasco” (with al pacino) and “finding neverland” (with kate winslet) + he gives voice to victor in “corpse bride” and to rango in “rango”, two animated movies that imo are worth the watch!
Don't forget my favorite. Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas
@@sammybear7100 YES true!!!
This is not a reaction, this is a conversation with yourself while a movie plays in the background.
"theyll spend their days in jail, but at least theyll be alive" mmm im not so sure about that, do you remember the three hanged pirates from the start of the movie?😅
To answer why Jack cut his hand it's because every person that was cursed had to give up some blood to lift it. That's why they needed Will's blood, his father was cursed along with the rest of the crew but because they sent him to the bottom of the ocean they couldn't' get it so they believed his son's blood would work instead
HOW DID I MISS YOU DOING THIS? haha my top 3 favorite movies!
Is Jane watching this too at some point?
When he throws the hand cuff chains over the rope, he made a spot to grab on the chain (chain long enough to throw over the rope) It's kinda strange to explain but it makes sense. You may have to watch the scene a couple times.
Yay been waiting for this one ❤ I remember being around 10 and was terrified of the skeleton pirates 😂 Now I find em cool
cant wait for u to react to the pirates , narnia , and hunger games series! im always hyped to see people react to these for the first time. they're all so good!
Jack had to repay the blood for stealing a coin in order to lift the curse. (All the pirates who stole the gold had to spill their own blood to lift the curse. The last they needed prior to Jack stealing the gold was Bootstrap’s blood. They thought Elizabeth was his child, i.e. blood relation, and her blood would lift the curse. Since she wasn’t a Turner, it didn’t work. It was Will’s blood they needed, since they left Bootstrap at the bottom of the ocean.) A new person had stolen the gold from the chest, so Will’s blood alone wouldn’t have been enough then. That’s why they both did it. Lifting the curse was the only way the shot would kill Barbossa.
IIRC the base port you get in Black Flag is Tortuga, the place where Jack recruited his crew in the movie.
About the coin thing... Barbosa and the crew stole the aztec gold and got curse along with it. Since they committed mutiny to Captain Jack Sparrow before they stole the gold Jack wasn't part of the crew so in turn wasn't part of the curse. Barbosa figures out how to cure their curse tru blood requirement and all the gold back. There was the scene where Elizabeth also stole the coin but her blood was already on the chest so she doesn't need to offer again. Will Turner's father also was part of the crew but they drown Turner so the blood requirement for Bootstrap was gone but since Turner is still alive they could get Bootstraps blood. And then when Jack stole the coin it obvious that he also must give the gold his blood.
Originally, they didn't shot when Jack was keeping a coin, so in the editing, they actualy reversed one of the clips of Jack putting back the coins the chest, so it looks like he keeps one and you don't really notice it, just to be clear that Jack kept a coin so you know a bit later when Jack is shown to be cursed.
They explain in the sequel that the compass points towards whatever the holder wants most
The Tortuga scenario was directly influenced by Jim Henson and designed after Muppets treasure island.
My dad, brother, and brother in law all helped build sets and props for 2 and 3.
I'm sure you've been told but every person who stole had to give blood. We imagine every pirate already did it, which left only bootstrap's heir, and Jack
My mom’s side is Jamaican too and growing up watching these movies it always had me so confused of whether “CAR-RAH-be-AN” or “CAH-RIB-be-AN” was right, my god
But it’s the the former for the movie and the latter for the geographical place 😂
johnny dep plays a pirate so well its like it was made for him
Johnny Depp is one of my favorite actors of all time and the whole controversy was involved with his wife but Johnny won all accusations against him
They needed a turner because his dad was part of their original crew who stole the gold. And William and Elizabeth aren’t cursed because they didn’t steal it. Turners dad did. But they just needed the blood of a turner to release the curse
This is one of my favorite movie series and I'm so glad you are reacting to it ❤
Elizabeth wasn't cursed since SHE didn't take the medellion from the chest. Barbosa took it out again (he's already cursed) and Elizabeth got it back (as it got into her hand when Barbosa slapped her). It's only when you DO take a coin from the chest and keep it that you'd become cursed until you put it back with your blood on it, which Jack and Will does.
I’m glad you enjoyed this movie! I hope you enjoy the series! To answer your question about Jack cutting his hand, if you took the Aztec gold you would become cursed. The only way to undo a curse was to return it with a drop of your blood on it. In case if you don’t know this series is based on a ride in Disney World that I highly recommend you it out if you ever take a trip there. There is a short film all parts of the Caribbean: Wedlocked, it came out on DVD with the third one. It’s more of a prequel short story to the first movie and answer some of the questions like why Jack got slapped by Scarlet and Giselle. 🏴☠️⚔️💛
I saw this film for the first time last July, I watch it about every 2 1/2 months and I love it every single time.
While it would’ve been fine to have a random pirate adventure, the plot and story are so brilliant that it’s actually a genuinely great work of cinema.
This guy?!?!?! How dare you not know Johnny depp
If you likes this movie you should continue watch the next ones. They are all so good it's unbelievable and honestly Johnny Deep was born to do this. ❤️ Love your work 😀
“What’s better, immortality and being hungry and thirsty all the time?” LOL, I don’t know why that got me. 🤣 I LOVE the Pirates movies (namely 1 and 2) they just never get old!
You seem surprised this is a Disney movie, but it’s based loosely on a ride built in 1967 at Disneyland that’s all about pirates and used to be pretty historically accurate for a kids’ ride. They changed it up in more recent years to be a little less scary and to add elements from the movies, like Johnny Depp’s characterization of Captain Sparrow. There are a lot of references directly to the ride in the movies. You should check out a RUclips tour of the ride to get an idea, and for fun.
Also grew up watching this movie and it's series
Jack had to cut his hand because everyone who stole coins had to pay in blood. The issue was, the crew killed bootstrap bill, so he couldn't pay in blood so everyone stayed cursed. That's why they needed bootstraps son
Love Pirates of the caribbean
Me too.
I think the reason Jack cut his hand is because he wasn't a part of the original crew that got cursed so when he stole a piece he was the first one to steal it so he had to do his blood as well as turners
Thank you for reacting to this one, I absolutely adore this film
LOVE THIS FRANCHISE SO MUCH can't wait to see your reaction ❤
Raghetti's loose eye is a wooden one, not his real one, he lost it at some point and have it replaced by the wooden eye, hence why Pintell suggest that he should get a glass eye.
This was the very first Disney movie that was released as PG-13 :)
No it wasnt
@@SB992REBORN Pirates of the Caribbean was the first PG-13 film released by Walt Disney Pictures
@@yanelisdelgado3386 Adventures in Babysitting was the first PG-13 film released by Walt Disney Pictures in 1987 .... so PPPFFT!
@@SB992REBORN The very first PG-13 released under “Walt Disney Pictures” was Pirates of the Caribbean. I’m not referring to any subsidiaries owned by Disney. The movie you mentioned is a Touchstone Pictures movie if I’m not mistaken… so PPFFTTT 🙄
You need to see dead man’s chest next! You won’t be disappointed trust me
Arrrrr ye’d be damn good pirate.
But in all seriousness, I’m very impressed by how much correct guesses you made about plot elements. I don’t think I’ve seen anyone be that correct in movie predictions.
Justice for Johnny Depp
This is one of my favorite movies. Loved this reaction
"Aye! Avast!" dont u ever do that again idk what that was but you just embarrassed the sh*t outta everyone LOL
Ironically (and a bit sad, really) the guy who played the "Say goodbye pirate" passed away after the film was done so his line were appropiately.
I think Jack cut the hand to see that he didn't heal, so he was sure the shoot wasn't wasted
Since you’ve watched Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron, I recommend: Sinbad: Legend of the Seven Seas, The Road to El Dorado, and The Prince of Egypt (and Joseph: King of Dreams, too). Also, if you’d like to see something else with Johnny Depp that was also directed by Gore Verbinski, check out Rango.

Yep, the effects back then for this were mind blowing. I remember watching how they did it all on the DVD release with special features. Just wait until you see some of the other Pirates movies!
I remember getting the DVD for Christmas and it had a PC program on it that let you load in a photo you had scanned and it would turn you into one of the skeleton crew. It was so fun and my friends all came over so I could do it to photos of them lol.
I don’t know if you realize this but Port Royale is in Jamaica. They didn’t film there but the story is supposed to take place there.
Actually, Pirates were released the same year as The Return of the King, so it was during the end of the trilogy's run.
How? HOW have you not seen this!?😳😂
