I've had this so much that; Now I have reached a point, that I don't know what love feels like anymore.
I have forgotten how to love myself, lost my motivation of life, wanting to be alone for eternity.
I thought to myself "Man, if I can't stay motivated I can just forget about life as a whole; Who would love me for who I am?"
But then I realized and thought to myself that I lost motivation because people called me smart, that they said that I help people because I am smart; I wouldn't succeed.
What gives you motivation is something you worked hard for; which gives you happiness, which would attract every normal human being.
Basically, motivation beats everything and if you fail, great!
You have just tried a way that didn't work out for you and you've gotta work slightly harder to keep on fighting.
Fight against the coping mechanism.

The "falling in love with strangers" part hit me like a truck. I feel so starved of love, appreciation & care that the smallest gesture of kindness from a stranger is enough for me to think of them for days.
No bc I’m literally still thinking about a stranger that went to my job over a year ago, he was so sweet and handsome and I literally can’t let the thought of him go, maybe if I had someone I wouldn’t be so strung up on this stranger.

I hate how some people in this com section say: "You don't need to be in relationship to be happy", bullshit. Some people (including me) need exactly that. To be loved. Its a missing part in our lifes. Finding love will make me happiest man in the world, I don't ask for anything else, im already happy with my life but being alone hurts.

I feel that way too. I have my family and some discord friends, but that's not really enough for me. I tell myself I'm fine, but sometimes I do yearn for that intimacy with a guy who's also looking for that intimacy like me. And right now, we need that more than evee, because I've already encountered guys who rather text forever versus meeting face to face. We need that loving connection. And I hate to admit this, but even I need it now.

Eh people need to chill. We think our happiness will increase artificially if we are "loved" by someone but it really doesn't. With it also comes more responsibility, more drama, more insecurities, more financial instability, etc. Rather than focusing on getting a significant other, just have a couple of good friends and you're set. Focus the rest of your attention on your career and health. If the right person comes, cool, but if it doesn't, it's cool as well.

My thing was I just focused on having fun and being humorous but be genuine, be you yeah? No intense talks about emotions until we build a good rapport, and remembering details about that person! People love when you ask them about them. Let it flow, don’t think if it as you selling yourself, get in a dance with them so to speak, slowly start stepping, then go in for the complicated moves, and take your time my friend!! Be your own best friend and advocate.

I am 23 and she is saying 'someone out there...' girl, I don't believe in this 'someone out there ' thing anymore. Cuz it is hard to accept for me but loved by someone u love is seriously like a miracle. So low chance. I used to say 'online chatting is a relationship too' but no... It is just a childhood game. I am 23 and I didn't even hold anyone's hands except my friends. And it is breaking my heart, I started to feel like sick when I see a couple or watch romantic movies /drama. So I decided to just accept that. Some people don't taste love, real love and other stuff and die. Yeah that's real.
It's just a basic theory of chance, that even if you don't meet 'that' person, it existed at least one out of all the million of people in the world.
Obviously it doesn't come down to anything useful in real life, because it's not like all people can afford or have the conviction to go around all the countries to find a single person.
The theory isn't very logical neither, because if said 'special person' existed, then why out of the billions of people that exist it has to be that 'one' person? Why can't there be more than one person?
It has to do with the origins of polygamy and what logically makes a person unique or special.

26 year old guy and I've only had one girlfriend. We initially were very attracted to each other another physically. But in the end, it was an awful relationship that should have never happened, as I allowed her to use me to buy things for her because I was too loveless to myself and naive to know any better. We eventually broke up after like 2 months. Four years later, and I'm still single. But the feeling still hurts the same, and it feels as if I haven't grown at all.

I don't know. Being single since birth, without ever experiencing someone say that he has a crush on me at least, got me so curious how it feels like to be appreciated. That is so true. I feel the same way. I will be 20 this summer and have never had a boyfriend...not even close. I haven’t had a mutual crush with anyone, at least that I know of. On the bright side, I don’t know what it’s like to go through a breakup or see an ex boyfriend find someone else. I think it’s much easier to be alone since birth than it would be to have dated a lot in the past and then find yourself alone.

Ever since I was 24, people have told me that I’ll find someone eventually. I was never one to hook up with someone just for the “fun” of it, I just wanted to find my soulmate. Call me picky or whatever, but I wanted to find my other half in the world. And if they didn’t exist, then there was no need for me to settle for someone. I’m 48 now, and I’m still single. But not alone. I don’t regret a thing because while I see my friends divorce and go through marriage issues, I’m happy to know that I never got to that point. I adopted a child 2 years ago and we are so happy! We are a small and happy family, that is complete! She completed my other half. Please don’t stress everyone, not everyone finds someone and that is the truth.

Listen to this guy, after having some horrible relationship experiences, I just wanna say this. Relationship is not as pretty as it looks on the outside, it's tiring, it's consuming and when something goes wrong, it can really go horribly wrong.
Start with yourself and be a better version of yourself. If you are too emotionally dependent on the relationship, you and your partner will only find hurt at the end of the road. Don't find a relationship when you're hurt and wants someone to share the pain with but instead find it when you are happy and want to share your happiness with someone. It will be more fulfilling connection that way.

For me, the hardest part of being 20 and single probably is all of my friends forgetting about me after finding love. I knew that when people fall in love they often start paying less attention to their friends but I wasn't mentally prepared for how harsh it would actually be. Friends that I used to hang out with a lot now barely keep any contant with me. It's weird and sad how people are ready to ditch a long-term friendship for someone they met just a few months ago. I've never had anyone being interested in me and I have zero romantic experience. I don't see myself as a person anyone would fall for in the first place. I've even thought about paying for sex or cuddling etc. so that I could experience it at least once in my life. Some people are fine with being "single forever" but I long for love and affection. It's kind of comforting to read about other people's similar experiences.

You're def not the only one. tbh I don't think I've met someone like me (never kissed etc etc) but I've met people that haven't been in a relationship since middle school, and they don't count those relationships because they weren't considered real to them. I feel like it's just hard for people to really connect now.
I haven't really met anyone who haven't been in a relationship. Even my clostest friend who is a lot like me and has openly stated many times that he's not interested in relationships still managed to have a girlfriend for a couple of months. It's hard to tell if it's harder for people to connect these days in general, or if it's just harder for someone as shy, introverted and not-goodlooking like me. And even then, i still see other people just as introverted and average looking as me somehow land a relationship and me still having no luck. It's discouraging to say the least

You are not ugly, actually, I believe that no one is ugly. I've been in your place and still am you feel like your ugly and you don't have anything to be proud of and literally nothing to enjoy. My parents bumped into each other in the bus. My father stalked my mom for months, tried to get her attention everyday. Now they are married for 22 years, they have two children and one dog. And they are pretty pleased with their small happily ever after
I've found that I tend to act extremely uninterested in someone when I'm actually really interested. Also, if I become friends with them first, I don't want to potentially ruin that friendship by trying to make it into a romantic relationship. Yup, definitely gonna end up alone.
