Is there any trick to screwing the cover back on. My pull cord worked fine until I opened the cover and put it back on. Now pull cord is jammed even with choke pulled out!
You pull the cord until it snaps and falls into it's place, but you do it before you start screwing it back on. Also, don't overtighten it and use loctite
Thanks for the video. It was helpful. You are right it is nice to have new but with a quality chainsaw your typical homeowner can get 20+ years out of a saw.
You are right, people rarely wear out a chainsaw. It normally gets discarded as soon it won't start.People just need to fix their stuff instead of throwing it out. thanks for watching Have a good one
Its the saw man it's the rancher 55 I feel the same way I fix every single part on that saw they're lemons.take it from me you'll get more work done investing in a new saw that won't you will be chasing your tail I just said this was the last thing I was going to fix but after you just said that I'm convinced this thing's better in the trash
I swear I wasn't going to fix another thing on that saw but thanks your video it does look easy but I think I'm done putting my money in time money and that's all I don't think I've ever had so much bad luck with the soul in my life
Music was a bit loud. It was hard to concentrate on what you were saying... but thanks for the video and your willing to help with a common problem. God bless you sir.
its find when i put the string back.. it works well but when i srew the cover back and pull it, it cannot rewind, the whole rope just hang out, whats wrong then... please, i need help here.
You need to wind up the spring before you fish the rope through so there is spring tension on the rope pulling The rope back in. Hope you Get it working
@@cheaphomesteading Sorry, i mean i wind the spring until it wind nomoa..hahahaha..fish the rope on, pull it, the rope back it 100%...when i srew it on to the body and pull it...it does not even wind, the rope just hang out.. when i loosen the screws alittle bit, the rope wind...hows that....the flywheel is 100% moving..
The cord must have broke before and the cord was getting too short. There isn't very much pull cord in a chainsaw because of its size. What happens when the pull cord is to short and you pull the cord all the way out to the end it puts a lot of force on the knot and the string when it bottoms out.So as long as you can still start it and the cord is long enough not to do it it's ok to retie. thanks for watching and have a good one.
Ya that works good but I never have some when I want it.organization is not my strong suit. But I always have a match or lighter. Thanks for watching , have a good one.
The cheapest I could find them is $25. I live in Canada and the Dollar is worth less then the US dollar. It only cost me a 2 dollars to fix it and a bit of work. too me that’s worth it. Thanks for watching man
YW.. Thanks for the vids! I tried starting my 435 in 10 degrees one morning and that white nylon centerpiece-bit shattered. When I called the hardware store, the guy swore up and down that Husqvarna did not sell just the plastic piece, or the whole assembled recoil wheel...only the entire sidecover,... fully assembled. I was expecting to pay some ghastly overpriced sum for a factory part which took pennies to make, but I told him no way was I going to pay for an entire sidecover assembly when it was just that center of the recoil part i needed. He laughed and said the entire thing was only 12-15 bucks. Since i was already expecting to pay 20-ish bucks for just the center piece, i was happy to pay 15 for the whole thing fully assembled and brand new! I was worried about taking the springy-part apart and then having to fight it to get it back together. Thx again!
Broke my pops cord. Fixed it first try. I appreciate it man!
Thanks for the tip!!! Quick* easy* cheap* FIX.... Great video 👍
Thank you for making this video. I just had the same problem. Love the idea about burning the knots. Cheers!
Yeah I find if you melt the not it lasts much longer and there's no chance of the not coming loose. Thanks for watching have a good one
Thank you so much for that video....Broke mine today and fixed it. Much appreciated !!!
So glad it helped you out
Thanks for the video, very helpful. Could have been half as long without all the chit-chat and music annoying. But thanks!
Just what was needed. Thanks. The knot was a nice touch.

Murphy? Aint he the guy that sells insurance.
Nice fix oh and music too.
Thanks for watching
:> )
Great fix on the pull rope
Thanks for watching
great tip thanks for sharing. looks like you saved yourself about a hundred bucks
if you get everything fixed at the shop. That gets expensive
Im confused. So why not just pull the string tighter and tie the knot further up the string thus shortening it.

Great video! Well done! Thumbs up from me 👍
Thank you fine sir you saved me $125.00 + tax in Canada which I thought was insane as well Thank you
That's way too much. $1 for the cord and a repairman should be able to fix this under 5 minutes without rushing.
can you play some ac/dc Back in Black in background and wear a sombrero?
They wear sombreros in Canada? Put the ac/dc on a shelf - for this kind of stuff, gimme some Bachman Turner Overdrive..
Useful video! Thank you! Although I Makita power saw.
as long as it gets it done man. Have a good one
Great video. Thank You!
I have the same saw! Must be 25 years old now...
It is by far my favourite chainsaw there are fairly light and enough power for me. Thanks for watching have a good one
I've cut 60' scotch pines with mine, 18" bar goes a long way with these!
I meant, "the knot MELT was a nice touch."
A figure 8 knot should hold, but this is good to know. Thanks!
Very helpful video, but the music is not necessary.
put a few drops of super glue on the knot.
Ya that works good but I never have some when I want it.organization is not my strong suit. But I always have a match or lighter. Thanks for watching , have a good one.
great idea
could have been good video if you hadn't added the music . hard to concentrate with loud music
I have toned down the music in their videos.Just don't know how to fix this one without losing the views. thanks for watching
good how to video. could have done without the music or low, low music
That was a easy fix.
Thanks for watching Man have a good one
Thanks.
+Dinoxt12 and thanks to you for watching. Have a good one
I could hear you better without misic
I have toned down the music in their videos.Just don't know how to fix this one without losing the views. have a good one
Twice as long as it needed to be and full of annoying music. I couldn't pay attention to it so I found a better video.
please leave your music out- I enjoy videos but the music distracts from the content!
The entire sidecover, including entire pull-cord assembly..(including brand new rope)...is only 15 bucks!

Music is torment
ditch the music, annoying not to mention distracting.
Annoying music, music does not make instructional videos better.
Sorry I was one of my older videos. the back ground music was too loud. Thanks for watching
the music is obnoxious man
Most annoying music in a fix it video.
Enough with the music and stop saying uhm.
