Hi I have offers from UCL,Bath, Exeter and Loughborough for Natural Sciences and I would love to go to UCL but the prices for second year accommodation make it seem completely unrealistic for me personally. I know you mainly focus on economics but I would really appreciate if you had any input on Whether I’ll be disadvantaged if I go to Exeter instead due to this factor or if there any ways to help with funding a London Uni course.

    Hello,
I wanted to say a big thank you for the videos you are making. I find them very helpful and interesting.
I just wanted to ask you a question about universities as I don't have anyone to ask for advice. I am currently studying in Year 12 and I am planning to apply to university next academic year. My goal is to go to King's College London to study Economics and Management. I like this university for its atmosphere, lecturers, location, credibility, and modules available. I was also impressed by the number of options for the Year Abroad. I'm also doing a K+ programme at King’s College and have work experience related to my course, so I think I will be successful at getting the place.
But recently I went to an open day at the City University of London to find out more about their Bayes Business School and I really liked the courses they offer. I was particularly interested in the BSC
    Investment &
Financial Risk Management and the BSc Banking & International Finance. There are lower grade requirements than at King's College and they don’t require an A grade in Maths.
I doubt that even though Bayes Business School offers exactly what I am interested in and what I want to do in my future career, it is ranked much lower than King's College and the opportunities to study abroad are not as good. The Economics and Management course at King's College is also quite good, but the courses at Bayes Business School are much more interesting for me. I had a look at the modules at King's College for the Economics and Management course and saw that in Years 2 and 3, I will have the opportunity to choose modules that are more related to the financial sector.
So I was wondering if you could advise me on which university would be the best choice. On the one hand, King's College is much better, I like it and it is very prestigious, but the course is not as interesting as at City University of London, but I will be able to choose finance-related modules at King’s College in the future. Although I'm a bit worried about the City University of London changing the name of their business school and I've also seen a lot of people on the internet saying that they're just very good at marketing their university and actually the studies there are terrible. So it's really hard for me to decide which one to choose as my firms choice next academic year if I receive offers from both universities.
Since you are very knowledgeable about universities, I would be very grateful if you could advise me which university might be better to choose.
    Thank you so much!

I would say lean towards KCL more. The reasons of a better course is valid at City but until you get to the module its difficult to say what it really consists of. Im presuming you want to end up in a top finance job and KCL will give you a better shot at it. Ive seen City students attend KCL events as theyre much better for networking and the guests they bring.
Business school presitge only really matters at postgrad , i think thats important for undergrads to realise. Bayes is great name but its not elite at all but still its only at postgrad youd pay attention to the business school. Ive heard facilities at City are also not that great and you tend to get more proactive and studious people at KCL (this is what ive heard from students from both unis).
KCL also provides better uni facilities than City which makes for a better experience. If there is some specilaization you really want to go in then id focus that for a postgrad degree. City for insurance uni is fine but i would focus on KCL. i'm not saying KCL is some elite uni but i would definitely rank it above City.
Lastly feel free to message current students of the courses on linkedin! I did that and everyone was always helpful in telling me about the course and the real truth about what it’s like.

Hey, could you tell briefly about the pros and cons of a placement year with masters in the UK. As I am a fresher, I think it would help me in gaining experience but most of the people I reached out to said that it is difficult to get work as I will still be a student during placement year and not a full time person. I want to know your thoughts on it.
    Thank you.

Can you explain what you mean by the placement year, is it one year in the middle of your undergrad degree then a masters after? or completing undergrad then work for 1 year and then start masters?

Good link to the other vid. I would say no it hasn't changed, IB targets is heavily based on tradition and KCL has maintained its traditional reputation. The Kings Business School I wouldn't say is known as great/famous business school but you are surrounded by a great institution and peers who will provide the right guidance.

Specifically Bayes , yes I’d say that’s really good uni. If you’re getting all As then I’d suggest looking for the other top unis as well. For postgrad it’s one of the best in uk, undergrad level matters a bit less and more so for the uni overall rather than business school.
