Thanks. To me it would make sense to wait until the both the extended and realigned platforms 10&11 and the new platform 14 are fully functional before starting work on extending 12&13.
@@peterelvery to work on 13 and 14 they need to move the 11 and 12 tracks so there’s room for junctions (they were already moved when the metro station box was being built)

Only in Sydney is a square brick shed with a tin roof heritage listed. Extraordinary. Eyesore. Get rid of it and make the platforms look like these ones.
haha that is a matter of perspective! I would state my personal opinions however being from the "young generation" it would only be seen as controversial
What platform got expanded? Also it got canceled I think due to if it actually happens it would ruin the heritage of central Btw I’m talking about the actual station expansion Not the platforms
What a dog's breakfast Central is. From one extreme visually to another. Those brick service buildings, the new canopies butted up against the heritage ones, the myriad of tunnels, nothing has been designed to honour the heritage of the station. Total garbage.
@@harrygoldun5779 well when rebuilding the demolished platforms it’s pretty hard to capture the heritage vibe that the rest of Sydney terminal has - it’s a new era and the upgrades are wholly necessary for it to operate with the demand it has - features such as lifts to Sydney terminal platforms simply can’t be added if the heritage look is to be maintained!
@SydneyTrainspotter I am.sure they could have done it sympathetically. Or at least a particular theme to tie in those service buildings with what exists as in the platform.buildings. Now that new tower rising next to Central and the whole precinct looks crap.
@@harrygoldun5779 fair enough ultimately they will have to upgrade all of Sydney terminal anyways, there's just no way the heritage look will be kept for eternity - as good as it may look to some.

Will the rest awnings get upgraded similar to 13 and 14? So that's another reason for the D set delay yeah?
