- Who is Vac-man? It is Stretch Armstrong's Nemesis that you can lock in place by sucking the air out of him. Due to popular demand, I am putting vacman in the vacuum chamber. This video is actually really neat because vacman gets locked in place when you suck the air out of it. So it is really interesting to see what happens when it is already under vacuum in the vacuum chamber.

How was he not as popular? That’s literally so awesome and creative with the vacuum system and the release button. Plus the villains are always cooler.
Well because if we remove all the flair, he’s basically a red dork that gets stiffer if you remove the air inside him.

That was interesting. I had a vac man as a kid. One of the features was that not only would his limbs stay in place when you sucked the air out. But you could stretch him out like a Strech Armstrong and he would stay stretched out instead of snapping back in place.

I was googling if vac-man would still work, considering the effects of time on whatever materials he was made of. Pretty cool to see that he still holds a vacuum.
My cousin had one of these. He used to put the vacuum pump on his chin and pull the handle a bunch and laugh about how it stuck on. He had to walk around for like two weeks with what was essentially a huge hickey on his chin.

I LOVED that toy growing up! I got him as a gift in an Easter basket and did tons of experiments on him until he ripped open one day lol! Stretch Armstrong was hugely popular and after seeing the clear gel inside him, it was cool to see the beads along with that gel inside Vac Man. Oh memories........

Fun fact: ambulances use that principle to secure broken bones for example that they could be driven to the hospital. The come in different shapes and sizes up to a full vacuum mattress

I always wanted Vac Man as a kid. I had a Stretch Armstrong and his dog and I had the mini vac man creator thing where you had like 4 mini vac men that you built yourself by filling the body with beads and attaching their heads. It was pretty cool but I still wanted the big Vac Man.

There's a thing called a vacuum splint that uses the same peinciple to immobilise broken limbs. It's good cos it can conform to any awkward shape and then lock absolutely solid.

Our other older brother and him (I have 8 siblings and 7 of them are older than me) decided to see how far they could stretch him and ripped his armpit. The owner was in denial as he said he accidently hit the switch on the side of his head while pulling. They tried to vacuum him tight again and discovered the tear on the nonowners' side. He never offered to replace him. Same when he broke the tip of my Star Wars light saber. We rarely let one another play with each other toys.
