There isn’t anything on the arcade game that claims that when the button is clicked the light will stop at the time clicked the button. If this did go to court that would be all the arcade needs to say and they would not be fined. Because deception is legal
Problem is, so far its been successfully argued that it isn't gambling due to the use of tokens, combined with the fact you don't win any money, only items from the front desk.
I'm surprised that arcades aren't required to post odds of winning games. Casinos usually are. And I think that games like this, that APPEAR to be games of skill, but are ACTUALLY games of chance, should be illegal.
Honestly i’m only 12 but I already know about this kind of stuff I’ve seen that I’ve only gotten one off but its just a near miss effect but I still keep playing because I think I can get it the next round until I finally realize that it’s not worth it and just MoveOn

I had come to the same conclusion about these (and similar games) years ago by using a highspeed camera and recording myself playing it over and over, only to examine the footage and find that there was no correlation to when I pushed the button vs. where the light would stop.

@@aceman0000099 It was a long time ago. If i remember right, he also lowered the amount you won so it didn't get to out of control. But it didn't change much because no one with sense trusts the game and/or didn't want to play a game that only lasts for a second.
From what people have said, winning at casinos can get you kicked. They allow you to get normal amounts of money, but winning too much is bad to them because they want to keep all of their money. At least that's what I've heard.
I don't even need to watch the video. These games are programmed to pay out after a certain amount of money is put into it so the gain outweighs the loss. That's how most, if not all reward based arcade games work. Anyone who has worked at an arcade automatically knows significantly more than you do in this case.
Why are they cheaters for liking the video? They could just enjoy watching the process of revealing a scammed game. If this was meant as a joke then just ignore this reply because in no means am I trying to offend you or anyone else.
Its not level if youre set up to win every time and hit the maximum amount of allowable jackpots though. Plus you cant cheat when its your own rules. People can not play it though.
I don't know why the us government usually outlaws casinos but let places like Chuck E. Cheeses exist. It's gambling. But instead of winning money. You win worthless toys
Willis some. The basket ball games and other skill based don't give tickets at all. There are very few ticket games that are at least somewhat skill based.
I worked as a carny , for a very short period of time. They let me go, and I was happy for that. I had to sleep at night . If you want to enjoy yourself at the State Fair , just sit at the _I Got It_ tent. Grab a beer and a sausage sandwich and get out of the sun or rain for awhile.
A carny is someone who works the booths, games etc at fairs . Games of chance, such as this, are very much rigged in favor of the owners of them at these fairs If you have a conscience , meaning sleep at night, you most likely will not do well as a carny. If you want to enjoy yourself, meaning not lose , then play a game called *I Got It* It's a game where someone will win each time. It's located on the midways, and generally under a tent with seats. Grab a beer and a sandwich , or whatever, and just sit back and enjoy. They let me go from my job as a carny , for I gave away a couple of the big prizes that are rigged . The big ones are rarely won. I was basically stealing money from 13 year old kids. It bothered me. So I gave a couple away. F**k Um
You've been to a fair most likely . You've played the games of chance most likely too. The thread here is, " I've was always bad at these games " . My comment sheds a very brief , in agreeance . along with personal experience , reason why LTazze was bad at these games. The reason being , *there're rigged* . I was a carny . If you don't know what one is, here's a link to explain . Carny=Carnival worker ; en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carny BTW . A great upload like this now has *79* dislikes. The averages a excellent though. If you want to have fun at the fair, or other places that have games like this, don't blow your money on them. Play something that you can enjoy, sit and relax . Have you ever played I Got It ?
Some games have an adjustable difficulty setting rather than a payout rate; at the highest level you'd really need to hit the button within 1/12th of a hummingbird wing flap!
People expect it to not be rigged, because they imagine it would be illegal, then. Actually, I imagine that to be illegal as well, I wonder how it isn't.
I remember getting the jackpot on my first try. Afterwards I kept getting the lights next to the jackpot, so I figured out pretty quickly that it was rigged.
@FrictionP you know those slot machines with those 777 like things to win, its already programmed where they will stop before you even push the button (or pull lever)
I hate those tickets machines for two reasons: 1) They are gambling machines for kids 2) They replace games in the arcades and most people prefer them to some good old videogames
Me: "No it's not cheating, it's experimenting the…mechanics of the game… and the science of…uh…chance." Kids: "Oh that makes sense." But I did have to cheat to see if it's a scam.
Hi Mark Rober, I really like your videos. I really like your boxes and I wish there were way more of them. I hope you made more videos this year so please do.
It's exactly like slots. They're pre programmed to pay out a certain amount on a variable schedule. Welcome to the Skinner box of gambling: kids edition
BREAKING NEWS: Pizza parlors and arcade games all over the country restrict backpacks and cell phones inside. News at ten. Sadly, they'd probably claim the possibility of terrorist activities for this.
worked in a bowling alley in high school, the winnability can be set for literally anything even the claw machines, where the grip strength is only strong enough every few plays
Those games have settings that basically say "Let someone win every XX games". I used to manage arcades and got to see some of the settings in the games. In a weird way, games of true chance like Colorama are the biggest payers. Its a ball in a spinning bowl, kind of like Roulette, so theres not really any way to rig it. I started typing this comment before I reached the end, I just saw the manual shot and had to laugh as I basically nailed the wording. I'd get kids/parents complaining all the time "I hit it when the light was on and it just moved over!" The smartest way to play it is to watch a couple of 8 year old suckers lose all of their money, then swoop in and play a few rounds and you'll likely win. I'd argue the real scam in arcades is the fact that you'll spend up to $100 to win something worth $3-$5 and leave like you're on top of the world. Those prizes, especially the lower end prizes, come on a massive pallet from China. If you look closely at some of the higher end prizes, they're typically toys with slight defects that couldnt be sold in stores or its just stuff that was not selling so it gets a huge ticket price slapped on it and is some how sold at 1000% of its worth. Arcades are too far gone now. At least in the 80s-90s you could go in, learn a non-redemption game and be able to play for 10 minutes on one credit. Mortal Kombat is an example, if you were good, you could pay once and play it to the end. I could go to my local arcade with $10 (which was huge in the 90s as a kid) and play for 2 hours. Now even the games that don't pay tickets are hugely over priced, designed like the ticket games, they basically have a set amount of time you're going to play for your $1+ buy in and thats it. Skill no longer means anything to those games. I refuse to even bother playing in most arcades now unless its a retro arcade with some reasonable games in it.
Gacha digital games (usually mobile, though there several P2P ones like Star Wars BattleFront 2) completely cut out the China middleman and give out digital prizes with no monetary value at all. On one hand, these probably are the main causes of Arcade Death, on the other hand, it's a good thing they're being investigated for being practically gambling for kids...
There's a arcade near me that you pay a cover charge of 15 dollars and you can literally play all day. Like you can come in at open and leave and return as much as you want all day and play any games in there. To me, that's worth it.
Thing is, you're also paying for the fun, and that's something most mega-arcade patrons understand. I don't think anybody is under the illusion that they're going to "Win big" and give the redemption booth a run for their money. At least in a casino that's technically possible, though statistically unlikely. In a kid's arcade, the kids legitimately enjoy the games and adults see that as part of the money spent. It's the experience. Whereas most serial casino-goers are going in for a payout, which is downright foolish.
I never understand all the thumbs down on every video. I've maybe thumbed down 4 video in my life time of watching hundreds. What kind of person goes around thumbing down videos unless they are paid by you tube to do so.

An arcade that isn't a scam? Sounds like it was fun...
The good O'l days my man
Gacha digital games (usually mobile, though there several P2P ones like Star Wars BattleFront 2) completely cut out the China middleman and give out digital prizes with no monetary value at all.
The 10k dislikes are the arcades that have been exposed.
