Claire was literally the WORST character to get! My sister and I would always hate that card because she literally had every “unique” factor so you’d lose pretty fast if you got her lol. The Claire card became the running joke in our house
@@kurtpunchesthings2411 Specifically, you want to eliminate half of them. If you ask a question that *could* eliminate more than half, the odds are less than 50% of succeeding.
If you hate fun even more, you can also ask "Is your character any one of the following people?" and then list out exactly half of the people you still have up.
Wouldn’t it be inaccurate to use a bell curve to represent your strategy since it always guarantees a win within five or six guesses exclusively when done properly? In that case, the distribution between number of guesses to win wouldn’t resemble a normal curve, but instead be a single split probability between two outcomes.
Yes, although I think you could technically represent that as a bell curve with an average of 5.5 and a standard deviation of zero. The simulations are could to test out how many guesses it takes with a 'normal' strategy
Or you could be like my uncle and ask "Is your person wearing a red sweater?" While playing as the blue player. So he'd just knock them all down and be out of choices after turn 1.
OMG lmao!!!! Dude my family is watching a scary movie and I'm over here struggling holding back my laughter, crying! So funny! I'm just picturing it, lol.
My brother and I both figured this out before the age of ten. It quickly became boring, so we moved to each choosing multiple cards, like three characters each. You ask questions like, "does at least one of your people have brown hair"? It still comes down to a specific strategy for each number of cards, but at least it makes the math a little more interesting.
The rules should state that you can't ask questions containing more than one physical trait or characteristic.. He's pointing out a loophole based on how the rules are written. There's a reason why this method isn't widely known; because those that have found this loophole feel it's the wrong way to play the game. He's not the only one that's tried to exploit the rules. Just my honest opinion.
With these rules, you can also play by guessing like this: "is you character Alfred OR Megan OR Joe OR George OR Henry..." So that you always guess half of the remaining group. This isn't very fun though. And then the other player will start doing it. Then whoever goes first basically wins.
I just love how he and his teacher were able to stay friends after so many years. Plus, the way how they show that they are really glad to see each other is moving. "Each question must have a 'yes' or a 'no' answer". The combination of test conditions with an OR parameter linking them will ultimately always result in a final yes or a no. The way the rule is written suggests that the final answer being singular is all that matters, and that it doesn't matter if you combine a series of tests in the question to get to that answer. Yes, Yes = Yes Yes, No = Yes No, No = No No, Yes = Yes ...
@@petermuller608 in my experience with programming logical functions, that's the definition of "or" when carrying out a series of tests. If A, or B, or C, then PASS, means only one test needs to pass in order to proceed. If A, and B, and C, then PASS, means ALL tests need to pass... Rober is saying that the evaluation of A, B, C is one question with one answer rather than three questions,.
@@MyDanMo thanks for the explanation :) I'm not a native English speaker and thus might be missing your point. Kelly He so are chefs with their “Green sauce shrimp pastas” or Historians, “World War1-2”. They name it that way to be easy to remember but you still have kids today failing classes 😂
My friend taught me a more challenging version of Guess Who where you start by drawing two cards. The questions you ask have to be formatted as "Do either of your people...?" or "Do both of your people...?"
@@mkaali there's some memory involved and some luck. For example: "Do either of your people have white hair?" If the answer is "no" you can knock down all the people with white hair. If the answer is "yes" then you have to remember that AT LEAST one of their people has white hair until you have more information..."Do both of your people have white hair?" If yes, now you can knock down everyone that doesn't have white hair. If no, then you know that one person has white hair and the other does not.

This is awesome. And it shows im not alone in researching random things. Ppl need to thirst for knowledge no matter how minute.
The new version of the game has about 50/50 male/female, so you can just lead with that question.
I always do that
You can also leave with does your person have facial hair other than eyebrows and eyelashes because if they say yes then you know that one it isn't a girl and two you get rid of all of the guys who don't have facial hair. :D
@@leighxx634 But "no" would leave you with all 12 women and the clean-shaven men. And that's more likely. So that's a worse question than the straightforward "is your character male?".
Nothing says "Mattel doesn't understand the point of their own game" like this.
@@leighxx634 If you do that, you try to "improve" the efficiency, but you risk that if the answer is "NO", you almost lose a turn : because you'll have to eliminate all bearded men and similar, but you'll have to keep all females + the men with no bear/facial hairs, wich is worse than having eliminated half of the population with a male/female question.

At young age, I always began my games asking : "does your character have an accessory". I won probably 96% of my games!
The truth is you want to ask a question that will likely eliminate alot of people early
@@kurtpunchesthings2411 Specifically, you want to eliminate half of them. If you ask a question that *could* eliminate more than half, the odds are less than 50% of succeeding.
I always began with "does your character have blond or white hair?" xD.

Why would anyone want them to talk? That just sounds horrifying.

Ask does the person have their name from a to z its insta win

He meets his teacher after 18 years “Have you done your homework yet?”
Yes! My friend and I did multiple cards, I think we did even 6 one time.

Nobody who plays guess who thinks you can ask for two traits or lets anybody do it. Its essentially a gentlemen's agreement to make the game fair.
Who said u couldn’t do this
With these rules, you can also play by guessing like this: "is you character Alfred OR Megan OR Joe OR George OR Henry..." So that you always guess half of the remaining group.
This isn't very fun though. And then the other player will start doing it. Then whoever goes first basically wins.
That being said, if you play by the "intended" way, it's still just random chance lol
Man you're fun at parties
"Is your person hot?"
"Does your person like Starbucks?"

I just love how he and his teacher were able to stay friends after so many years. Plus, the way how they show that they are really glad to see each other is moving. I'm really glad to see Mark and his teacher are able to open up to each other. By the way, i'm not sure if this is common in your country but in mine, I rarely see this type of friendship between students and teachers. Or maybe I'm just not able to recognize it. But in my perspective, I rarely see it.
It really depends if that teacher had a positive influence on you.
Cute!
They havent seen eachother in 18 years. They are not friends! Theyre just nice to eachother and making a video together. I bet from this time its more than 18 years till they see eachother again...
Yes, Yes = Yes
Yes, No = Yes
No, No = No
No, Yes = Yes
...
... that's the definition of or? I didn't get your point
But as far as I understood Rober's strategy was to ask "does your person have white hair or glasses" would yield yes iff the "person has white hair" is yes or "person has glasses" is yes
Thus you are agreeing with how Rober? Or are you commenting on the difference between or and either or?

My friend taught me a more challenging version of Guess Who where you start by drawing two cards. The questions you ask have to be formatted as "Do either of your people...?" or "Do both of your people...?"
How does it work? How can you track two people with just one set of tiles?
@@mkaali there's some memory involved and some luck. For example: "Do either of your people have white hair?" If the answer is "no" you can knock down all the people with white hair. If the answer is "yes" then you have to remember that AT LEAST one of their people has white hair until you have more information..."Do both of your people have white hair?" If yes, now you can knock down everyone that doesn't have white hair. If no, then you know that one person has white hair and the other does not.
