    Ok, I did try it tonight. Honestly,.... it was terrific! The oilve oil added so much flavor along with salt to taste, I loved it. Thanks again for another suggested way of cooking broccoli. 👍👍
    I fully understand the importance of a good virgin olive oil.. very good

    I’ve been following your channel since its beginning when your wife Laura mentioned it on her SewVeryEasy channel. On a personal note, I’m curious what you did/do for a living before you started the channel. You are a man of many talents in the kitchen. Do you do most of the cooking at home? I enjoy each episode!! 😊

      So glad to hear this!! Fantastic that you have been following since Laura mentioned it. I've been in management for basically all of my Career and even wrote a book on management as well :) Yes, I do all the cooking and also have a small fishing lure business - needless to say, I'm very busy, but love to cook (as you can probably tell 🙂) and love to share my recipes 👍👍

    You should wash with Dawn Soap to remove the “ stuff “ sprayed on for shipping. Water will shed off with it present. The Dawn, Baking Soda, Vinegar wash will remove this. You can see how rinsing it has changed.

      When a chemical is FDA approved to be put into our diet it is only tested as toxic in an acute exposure. ( poison that kills you )
      The chronic exposure is tested over time. It is a slow process for this to ever reach the court system and be removed from our diet. So be careful about these new wonder chemicals that preserve food for shipping and sale.

    Important! - Cut up broccoli at least 40 minutes before cooking, in order to release the enzyme that creates sulphoraphane, an anti-oxidant, anti-cancer, and anti-inflammatory compound. Also, I think it is a little better to steam broccoli, rather than to cook it the way it was done in this video. He is correct that raw broccoli is healthy, but who wants to eat raw broccoli?

  • @johnsouza5262

    but doesn't it lose nutrition cooking that way

      .....this is a very healthy way to cook broccoli....if you were to immerse it in boiling water, that's when it would begin to lose nutrition

    I would have taken the broccoli out after 2 or 3 minutes. That's going to turn mushy, like frozen broccoli.

    • @CookingwiththeCoias
      @CookingwiththeCoias  9 месяцев назад +3

      Actually, I hope you were able to see that the broccoli was not mushy at all, but if you want to take them out after 2-3 minutes instead of 5, they will still be very good and a bit firmer 👍👍 Thanks for writing in
