One thing to note is that if the PS5 is not picking up 5G wifi it is recommended to change the channel of the signal in the router from automatic to a fixed channel (usually 36 or 44) that way the PS5 should read networks all the time.
Happened to me recently. I was able to turn my ps5 on with the controller but wasn't connecting to pick a profile. I tried reseting my ps5 by pressing the power button and didn't work. I then shut it off by holding the power button for 5 secs. I used the controller to turn it back on and it was working. So I recommend to shutting down the ps5 completely and trying again.
Also. If you don’t have 5G. Consider going into your router settings and changing the channel range. Sometimes that helps. End of the day though, hard lining in is always best.
The controller that comes with my PS5 surprisingly is still doing well for two years now and not a single stick drift but the rubber part on the joystick is coming off. I wanted to buy the purple controller but I’ll wait for the pro controller to come out.

Got into this problem when I moved my ps5 from my bedroom (ethernet) to my living room (wifi) never had the issue, so naturally I was infuriated until I found out about your video. Thanks so much!
I’m already on ethernet but my controller still disconnects sometimes. The real issue is that it doesn’t communicate my inputs properly while it’s figuring itself out. Tapping a button or slightly moving the analog stick is registering as a hold and making games unplayable. It only happens sometimes and I can’t figure out why. This video is the closest I’ve gotten to an explanation for it

Isn't the PS5 controller communication method Bluetooth not WiFi...Bluetooth allows for short-range data transfer between devices. As an example, it is commonly employed in headsets for mobile phones, enabling hands-free phone use. Wi-Fi, on the other hand, allows devices to connect to the Internet. Bluetooth doesn't interfere with WiFi. Different frequencies.

There is also an other problem that I've actually faced with the 3D Pulse headset for the PS5. Whenever I'm on Wifi on my PS5 and play any games online, they lag a lot while using the 3D Pulse headset. Whenever I move to wired connection it doesn't makes any problem at all. I'm guessing it is due to its 2.4ghz adapter that is messing up with the Wifi and making the games lag. I've tried using multiple Pulse headsets and they all had the same problem. I really don’t know why they changed that, or have it set to default (from the video, it seems like you can switch the settings for that). Having the controller connect through the internet and to your system is asking for issues in my opinion. >.>
Hey guys I really need help with my ps5 control. Was playing and suddenly no buttons was working except the joysticks!
So restarted my ps5 console. And now my control doesn't want too work at all the ps button ,no response! . When put the USB cable in the controller too try too connect it a get a orange light that lasts for 1 sec then nothing happens.
I've tried too reset the controller ,unplugged the console. And then I got the same orange light lighting 2 times. Still no connect. Then I tried all the steps again. And I'm back too 1 orange lighting but don't connect.
What can I do ?
All answers is appreciated 🙏
Hi John. What kind of ethernet cable should I get for the ps5? My connection speed is alright most times (around 50mbps) but i get a lot of lag while playing apex and games take a lot of time to download.
My day one controller had stick drift and got repaired 2 weeks ago. The repair team said they fixed a trigger also, I never noticed an issue lol
Maybe it's a software issue that will be fixed in updates, because I'm pretty sure the dualshock 4 was also on 2.4ghtz
i've had mine on both 2.4 and 5 my router supports both and mine has always worked fine. bluetooth is meant to be relatively short range it's also a different protocol, seems like this would have been an issue from the start meaning "anymore" implies it was working then something has happened later, makes no sense
I used to face this exact problem with my Bluetooth earphones too.. But now it got fixed
One of the best things about this dude is that he never takes credit for himself when he uploads something. He always respects us, the audience, and he is always full of energy in his videos. Keep up the hard work!
And most importantly he doesn't waste your time with the dumbass intros or sponsorship bs...
@@Zeegoku1007 facts bro!!
And his titles are always clickbate too. I mean, the title is literally l, "Sadly, PS5 controllers dont work anymore"
Probably because, with a name like Glasscock, he probably needs to avoid throwing stones.
Either it's a bot or some idiot has copied this comment from a bit and pasted it here and people are replying it 😂😂
Good to know this in case I will eventually need this.
Wireless Gaming Headsets also use 2.4ghz and their user manuals warn of poor connection if too many 2.4ghz devices are around.
Could this frequency also affect the headsets?? I have the problem you are describing, happen with my pulse 3D, as well as my sony platinum headset... much worse with the platinum headset and much MUCH worse with the platinum headphones on my ps4 vs my ps5 ...the sound just cuts in and out...
Yes. Because it uses a stupid dongle to work. What I did was get an extention usb for the dongle and ran it so it was closer to me than everything else emitting 2.4 frequencies (Router, tv wifi, other game systems)
I had this issue for 3 days. I left it on a wall charger for 5 hours and miraculously turned on.
Does the issue affect controllers that are connected by USB cause i plan on getting a ps5 soon and my internet only supports 2.4 GHz
Or never connect to the internet and always play offline like I do . I have never run into this issue. But if not then just do what the video says to do. Happy gaming everyone
How do you download anything? How do you update games? Many come quite broken if not updated. Playing the newest systems this way just doesn't work these days.
@@millertime3864 I do connect online but with my phone only with mobile Hotspot just to update system. Never to download anything. Most games work perfect and besides you don't know what your missing if you never have it
Haven’t had issues with my Dualsense not connecting or disconnecting but I do have very bad connectivity issues while trying to play Warzone. Sometimes my controller feels very stick drfity. Where I’m trying to look around and it takes a while for it to actually turn and what not. Any tips to fix this? Probably just buy a new controller soon, I’ve been using my PS4 scuf for the time being with no issues
I have a Question would it still be the same if my Controller keeps acting up while playing my game feels like it has stick drift even if the controller is Brand new?
Off topic, but has PlayStation stated a release date for the new pro controller? And or pricing?
Like what I see thanks for when I buy my ps5 . thank you very much
Great.....more wireless connectivity issues. Also, what happened to bluetooth in Sony controllers?
Hey John and yt i need help with my ps5 controller the square wont respond and its not stuck or sticky it presses down fine and the other buttons work fine ive tried cleaning reseting and even plugged in what should i do?
Wouldn't another fix for this for people who can't do the first two options is just connecting your controller to the console and playing it that way?
Hey bro you make really good and helpful videos, but i feel the clickbaity titles dont do it justice. It makes it sound like the majority of every ps5 users are encountering the problems in the title but thats simply not true. Its a small minority and these videos will definitely help them, i think you should make the titles less clickbaity, but i get it. Its how you get your views. Keep making great videos brother
Mines recently conked out. Im blaming it on my cousin who 😩dropped it…I tried what you said and the controller won’t charge…I’m convinced I need a new one..🧐
i have a controller that even wont work with the cable connected it works only in safe mode all the reset modes dont work
Day one owner here and never had such issues lol😂
Both my controllers for some reason have an issue when I push forward. I thought at first doom eternal had a stamina issue I just didn’t remember but then I played demon souls and noticed it and it’s been getting even worse.
I Didn’t know the ps5 controller works on 2.4ghz frequency… good to know 👌🏼
I’ve had 2 original controllers start having horrible stick drift. And I also have a v2 controller that started having stick drift after only a few months. Luckily bought a warranty and got a new one. But 4 controllers in such a short period of time is ridiculous. Terrible quality control even on the v2s 😬🤦🏻♂️
Man U are the best !!! I was going to buy new ps5 lol
