Hey, excellent work! I have a dualsense controller that only blinks orange 3 times. No signal given to ps5 or gamepad tester, and reset button did not fix it. It happened after resoldering a new potentiometer. Any thoughts on causes?
I think you put a lot of heating and damaged your ps5 board , I need to check and test

@@WittawinPinprasert found the problem. Had a bit of solder toward the front bottom pf the board that wasn’t supposed to be there. Caused a short. When removed, the short was fixed and the controller powered on..but put so much heat into the joystick points that the board was damaged there. Had to scrap the board for parts
Now I can fix it. Found a problem with broken solder.@@angusfuzz
mine also flashes 3 times after replacing the stick and does not work anywhere to look

Yes i too would love to know what it is you are using here too. I have a issue where my controlled when plugged in flashes orange rapidly. it still connects when plugged in to ps5 but disconnects immediately when using wireless. Would love to have a go and repairing myself. @@AynaxTech1
I have same problem, but my chip is not hot or getting hot. Could this still be the issue?
Maybe the issue not in this area , do you have thermal camera to test if they have any hot area ?
Hi. I changed the potenciometers, and my controller works fine. However the baterry is not charging. I already tested another battery and nothing. I think the problem is on the PCB. Do have any idea what it is?

I changed the sticks to those with the Hall effect in several controllers. One of them worked for a few days and suddenly shut down. I watched your video and it seems that there is no shortcut and the chip is ok. The controller works via usb cable but shuts down when unplugged. I can check it with a gamepad tester and the pc app from sony shows it charging and has the current firmware. Also swapping in the battery from a working controller doesn't help. You seem to be very knowledgeable - could you please help me?
I never seen like this issue before but I think charging chip issue or try to return old orginal stick and test 🤔

Possible that cooking the pcb in an oven might work as a last attempt? Pcb seems dead anyways, not much to lose. 400°F too much? Too little?

Hi, I have a ps5 controller that doesn't charge neither is detected by console or pc. First thing wrong I noticed was a hot usb c port, so I tried changing it. After that I could play with the cable connected, but battery doesn't charge. I got myself more tools so I tried replacing again the usb c making a cleaner job, now I can't use ir even connected. When I connect the cable the orange light flashes two times, I test for voltage on the battery pins and I get nothing. Could I get any suggestions on what to check, I am trying to learn. Thank you.
I think the problem in USB port do you try to change it?
@@AynaxTech1 yes, I already changed it, today I realized voltage on the battery pins is present just when the battery is connected and I have voltage between red and black, about 4v. I am guessing maybe the chip in the video got damaged
@@AynaxTech1 but even when I have voltage on battery, it doesn't charge neither the controller is detected. It just blink two times orange when I insert the usb cable. Have any ideas? =$

What temperature did you use to remove the IC CHIP?

What does it mean when the controller flashes orange twice whenever you try to charge or start it? I replaced the joysticks with hall sensor switches. It worked for a while but it suddenly disconnected and stopped working.

Try to use Hakko fx888D or if you want cheaper try with Sugon a9
