Thanks for tutorial :) I actually ordered new Winbond chips in case mine is broken and gonna try pull out firmware from original one. I would suggest to use some ChipQuik or other low melt solder in order to remove anything that need a lot of heat (hdmi port for example). Btw very strange noise from your hot air, like dying compressor inside or something
Whenever I turn the air up high it starts making that noise. Low air it won't make that noise. I live with it. Lol. I'll have to look up ChipQuik. Always open to new suggestions! Thanks

Hey man, thank you for this video! 😭🙏 Exactly what I've been looking for. I've reinstalled my system software using a USB but it crashed during the re-installation. Now the PS5 won't turn on anymore. I suspect that this would fix it. Do you think I'm onto something? I won't hold you reliable, no worries. 😄 But I'd be very thankful to hear your thoughts, on whether or not that's realistic. There was no problem when it crashed during normal resets of the system software, but the crash during the reset via USB bricked that boi, which is why I suspect that a reset via USB also attempts to flash the bios, not just the OS. I'm past the warranty and I'd rather try to fix it myself (and possibly fail) and maybe learn something, instead of selling it for replacement parts or paying to get it repaired. You think reprogramming the chip may be something I should consider?

Sony removed OtherOS years ago would be nice to see Linux for the PS5 the PS3 had so much potential to run Linux. The hardware would be better suited to Linux than Windows. But remember it's a games console aimed at gamers the architecture is different from a standard PC not to mention random read and write cycles from a custom OS would kill the SSD a lot quicker.
@@mipad553 Be logical even if you could the thermal throttle and heat would be so extreme. Have you seen the size of a PS5 heatsink their huge the motherboards are also thick and absorb a lot of heat from the APU.

Use a bit of low melt solder to take the bios off, that way it comes off before any of your components come off.. Makes it much easier.

Yeah definitely need a new air compressor, unless it somehow got unscrewed or unclamped and is vibrating. 😊

why do you unsolder it? theres this clip which u can put on the chip. or is it not possible to flash when its soldered to the board?
You don't want to risk back-feeding voltage into the southbridge.
