- Pls no bad comments, I take time to choose the best shots I had, and show them to you, Forgive the poor quality, taking into account that was taken from a webcast, I COULD ONLY TAKE THE VIDEO, so I put the background music.
I love passenger airliners.I love 747.Recently flew by one first time and was so happy.
Good luck 747 The Youngest!
Man, It's actually quite NICE!
What a beauty!
The queen live. Good luck keeping up with this one, Airbus.
Queen of the skies; can't wait to fly it. Looks as though a UFO drone took an interest the first flight as well! You can see it pass behind in the background as it comes through the cloud..
awesome aircraft welcome back boeing
Even people who don't know airplanes can name a 747 on sight. The Queen of the Skies, is just that. It's lines are simply unmistakable. The forward "hump" oddly just works for the plane, and always will.
Very good video bro... lol i love the final shot when we see the 787 and the 747-8 ... just before that the pilots go out from the plane... but very good video bro... esto nececita un pequeño dedo verde :D
historic video...!!! Congs
Oh, interesting. Thanks. I figured that engine(s) would have been checked on a test bed for many hours before being mounted. Thanks again.
Nice job you've got.
The quietest, fuel-efficient, and environment-friendly aircraft, its amazing Boeing is able to get this new plane in the skies in just 2 and a-half months.
You did a good job.......
engines look pretty bad ass
@MrBowie08 aaah it looks nice :D
@op3l I assure you that the plane is a brand new fuselage. I saw them build it during my time in the factory. The upper deck is short because the plane isn't designed to carry many passengers. Just the crew. Keeping it short saves on weight and manufacturing costs.
I have flown both Boeing and Airbus over the years. Had several trips on the 744 but I have to say the A380 is in a different league. It's far roomier, even in coach, a lot more comfortable and a great deal quieter and smoother. Comfort has been the common factor with any Airbus. Boeing seem so old fashioned with the 744 now. I can see why Airbus have taken the lead in terms of build and technology. Hoping for a big improvement on the 748 though it seems no American airline wants that either.
@KiloDelta302 I heard that it's because of some protective coating in the engine. When the engine starts it burns of the coating which in result produces the massive amount of smoke.
The 747-8 (both versions) are WAY better than the A380s.The A380s have many problems while the construction of the A380F has been delayed and hasn't even started after all these years(!)By the way, great video!!
qualitiy ist nuts!!
Yes maybe for the fuselage, a bit "fat". But the A380 wing is beautiful and the elevator's shape is great. But to see this you need to be under the elevator: I saw it at Farnborough.
'Old lady' 747 is newer than the A380. It's been around longer, but the aircraft in general is a newer design. 2013 PAS what when more orders for the -8i were made, although the -8 is just Boeing winding down the 747 for end of life, so the fact they've made a little extra cash from it is good. Although, people thought the -100 was the last variant over 40 years ago. It's equally likely to keep going for decades yet. There isn't a market in general for such a large airliner. Even for the A380.
Well, I do have Mondays off work entirely, Thursdays I get a 2 and a half hour break and Weds is only a half day. Aside from swimming, my 747-8 project and other weekend jobs like working in the Ford dealerships, I do get about 30 minutes every few days to relax and unwind. Among other activities, one of them is enjoying aviation / motor vehicle / music videos on RUclips.
Sweet Aircraft I looking forward to the Passenger Version Hitting the Sky Soon. ove them 787 I see on landing Any more video on those and PPL LET NOT HATE planes or cars or boats ETC. THX U !!!!!!
@QYD1000 because this aircraft was specially designed for the Asian market, and the 8 means Luck, success and everything good, well that was stated by Boeing officials ...that's why she is 747-8
the Queen looks stunning and sexy as always. long live Boeing 747
@Gripen047 Ah I see. Thanks much for the clarification. I can't wait to be able to fly on this plane when it comes out, currently still waiting to get a chance to fly on the A380.
The noise-reduction chevrons in the engines make it look faster.
@Neutrinoghost
actually, this plane is 3 meters longer than a380.
Boeing747-8 is the best ones for me
I agree with GenuineMW2. As a frequent long-haul flier, I like Airbus planes a lot more than Boeing. A340 is more comfortable than B747. Both of the airplanes I have experienced as a customer of Lufthansa.
@LottoWinner999 By the way, ANA, the launch customer for the 787 have said they will probably be ordering the A380 later this year. If they do, so will JAL purely to remain competitive and given these are "diehard" Boeing purchasers, the writing's on the wall for Boeing. Have fun!Seriously though, the 747-8 will make a good freighter and the Intercontinental looks good. Sadly, "pretty" aircraft don't necessarily sell.
Catching up with "Mad Men" at the moment. Great series.
I'd agree, I'm starting to waft in favour of the A330-300 over the 787 - whilst game changing, the A330 is still operating very efficiently and issue free. The Dreamliner is questionable to me, I expect they'll iron out the issues, but after that more will end up developing, knowing how it's gone so far. In fact, it's scared JAL so much they're ordering the A350XWB!
*back at you. You have shown plenty of examples of doing this. I simply came across the video in my spare time and thought I'd offer a more balanced view, that is all. Fortunately, Airbus learned from the 737 and added basics like a catalytic converter to stop the stench of jet A-1 entering the cabin upon start up. Or they no longer put the toilet in the galley! Airbus were rather quite all over the place with the A320, with the A320 E and NEO, I'm quit a fan I must say. :)
I thought I might make a correction; it seems I jumbled the two up. What I was intending to post was 'why would Boeing make a 767-400 when there was already a 777-200?' - because we all know the 777 was launched before the 767-400, and the -400 was some failed attempt at winning 767 customers back over. Both had a similar seating capacity, yet the 777 was far more advanced (and is). In the rush I obviously typed an error. Glad you mention the A330 though, one of my favourite, ahead of its time.
@evilblackrolf jeje grasias amigo, tu eres de los mios, oye ya sabes k este 13 de febrero va a haser su primer vuelo el b747-8 de pasajeros! va a estar super y lo van a transmitir por internet, no te lo pierdas!!:)
Okay, while you can fight (Airbus and Boeing) till your out of breath. This is a 747 video. The 747's contributions to the aviation world since 1969 are simply without argument. The 747 platform is amazing. 41 years since first flight. It is still graceful and beautiful. (sorry Airbus, the A380, while a fantastic plane, looks like a beluga whale with gas. sorry.)
@SiljeAdmirer its not about constructing planes beautiful^^ ... airbus rules!
That baby smoked like a DC-6 starting up
Let's not forget that West jet ordered 65 737max, or all of the BMI A320s had been dumped and even BA didn't want them... there's lots you're missing out here.
I like B747 best!
What's the little thingy that dangles behind the tail fin? Always puzzled me when you see that on test flights. Nice vid though & beautiful plane will never be bettered. 747 Rules!!!
Yes, it is an achievement in meeting the production rates of the best selling commercial jetliner to date - the 737 has sold nearly 11,000 units. Airbus is rapidly closing the gap. But the 737 with the MAX is nearing its end of life. Within the next decade, it's likely to have a replacement announced. Wonder who will be the one then calling Boeing aircraft 'old ladies' when our 1980s A320 gets some grey hair?
beautifully made plane. Airbus has also nice planes. But i am biased toward Boeing
Since 2000, when the A380 has been available for order, Boeing has sold in excess of 500 744s and 748s combined. Meaning the mere 262 figure for the A380 doesn't really exceed the 747 orders since the A380s launch date, does it now?
@zero2084 I just asked to hear it on pages of music. But thank you very much for answering you have some very good videos. Seriously were there watching the 747-8?
@BOACMach2 I think boeing's just handle better. I never liked the autothrottle system on the airbus and I think that the 747 handles much better than the a330 and the a320. Those are the only 2 airbuses ive flown, but they are very similar except for the a310 a300
@beergut111 Gee! A comment from months ago. Well I've been at the helm as well as being a passenger and consultant. I look forward to my flight on the Lufthansa 747-8 later this year but I have had no issues with Airbus as a consumer. It's a matter of fact that the A380 has wider seats all round, is quieter in flight than current models and is generally better equipped for long haul than any other aircraft in the sky. That may very well change with the 747-8 & 787. Time will tell wont it.
@beergut111 so let's get this right. You're not referring to build quality but handling characteristics. That is, of course, a matter of opinion but I can vouch for the advanced avionics that give passengers better protection in the event of pilot error, a system I believe Boeing are finally utilising on their aircraft.
@RunescapeTutorial585 yea! long live boeing!
@QYD1000 they used ideas and design from the 787
That's right, you keep kidding yourself Jaffa. 20 orders have been placed by Doric Asset Finance and a further 2 by Lufthansa this year. If the design were "newer", it would have been subject to greater certification requirements. The 748 was awarded "amended type" status. I'll get one of my colleagues to explain it to you if need be.Once BA made the decision to choose the A380 over the 748I, Boeing knew they had lost the VLA market.
Those 20 orders have not been confirmed though, there are 53 unfilled orders for the 747-8 (and that's just the -8i, let alone the -8f), but I never counted those in any of my posts, so we can exclude the 20 orders from leasing corps. I am in no way shape or form saying they won't be finalised, nor are they unlikely to be, but they haven't been yet. It may turn out that they're thrown back in Airbus' face, just like Virgin's 12 options for the A380.
@zero2084 Muchas gracias amigo, y no te preocupes, no voy a perder lo :D
@tierren thanks :)
BOACMach2,you talk about the passenger versions of the two planes. But I don't know if you can remember when they were released:A380-2005/747-8I-2011.That's why the A380 is more used now.The A380 is a great plane but not as good as the 747-8.
Felicidades. Muy buenos videos. ¿ Tu estuviste ahí para grabarlo?
@ArmyofSeaturtles ahhhhhh, thats why. thanks!
Wow this is beautiful. When are they going to start work on the 747-800 passenger series and who is the launch customer?
'Boeing losing market share' - true, but it happens to Airbus too. Your example shows Norwegian air shuttle, whom proudly advertise their 737NG with sky interior all over the place, not only have they ordered 100 A320 Neos, but they also ordered 100 737MAXs. that to me seems like they are on even fields. Shame about the 787, that's not performing as hope but they're probably to be rectified. Blame RR for missing fuel filters in the engines. VietJet air, an All 320 operator are ordering the MAX.
@jainish007 Yes I was made also bigger than the Airbus 380
@mexicanalufthaholansa hola pues si ablo español, gracias por tus comentarios. :)
@Nsaishie Unfortunately I do not know the names of the tracks, I saw in other videos here on youtube.
the first take him out of this video; =JlmCWi28CsU
the second track on this video: =Qf5cHKWp1l8
@GenuineMW2 Your statement is not borne out by the facts. Both Boeing and Airbus models are pretty much on a par where safety is concerned, according to the various accident/incident databases. Clearly, airlines take passenger safety very seriously and I doubt Airbus would outsell Boeing if those airlines had misgivings. Airbus are also acknowledged to have quieter, more comfortable cabins, particularly on long haul. If you fly both you'll appreciate that.
@beergut111 Compliance on safety, though statutory and expensive makes good business sense at the end of the day because litigation costs and loss of goodwill have an even more pronounced effect on the profitability of an airline or manufacturer. Rolls Royce may soon find that out as Qantas take them to court. Remember, PanAm went out of business as a direct result of Lockerbie.
@BOACMach2 of course they compare with their checkbooks......safety is expensive and airlines go cheap with that.
dont even get me going on the low quality of airline safety.
The front portion of this airplane where it has upper and lower decks seems to be from an earlier 747? I know the 747-8 is an out stretched 747, maybe they're using an earlier 747 just as a platform for testing purposes?
@julesgymnast Nice to see you got this one right. Congratulations jules. I can see how this might bring about the grounding of all A380s..lol! The problem has been dealt with. Lots of aircraft suffer with wiring issues eg 767s with windeshield heaters catching fire. Just as well the A380 has all those sensors around the aircraft to check for such things. Heard about the problem with the Qantas 747 today? Do you think Boeing ought to ground all 400 series given this problem?
@BOACMach2 no, airbus has so much into it it actually increases workload.
and boeing's planes are just built more like a Mercedes, airbus is like a kia. I suppose airbus aint a complete waste but if you compare the two, boeing is much better. Plus the most important thing, its American.
at 3:14 look behine the 747 you can see something fly by it.
@SiljeAdmirer i'm visiting lufthansa pilot school at the moment so i don't consider myself a non-aviation fan^^
@LottoWinner999 "Almost 3 years to the day Lufthansa finalised deal for 40 Boeing 747-8 Intercontinental’s"
As usual, you have your facts wrong. Lufthansa have 20 748Is on order not 40. This was placed in Dec 2006. Korean Air's order for 5 came in Dec 2009, almost THREE years later and is the only other airline to order the aircraft. Hardly a glowing reference is it but given the 777ER does more or less the same job at lower cost its not surprising really.
@beergut111 Boeing builds good planes for sure. The 747 was revolutionary, as was Concorde. They cotinue to make and develop good aircraft, as do Airbus (in my opinion) But in fairness, Vickers, Sud Aviation, Dassult & Hawker Siddeley produced some good models prior to Airbus but of course never had the resources nor marketing nouse of Boeing at that time. Guess the tables have turned somewhat haven't they. You got to ask yourself seriously why it is AB outsells Boeing on the world market.
Although, both Airbus and Boeing are dwarfed by Cessna alone, they've produced some 60,000 172s. And before you blabber on about how that's a different market, it's irrelevant, it's impressive to have sold in those numbers. Before you moan about the 737 'being old', the 172 has been with us since 1956, and is still in development and production, so your logic should not be used for determining how worthy an aircraft is, just because of its age. Some of the best cars are old. E.G. The Mustang.
@tcsurvivor03 Unfortunately I do not know the names of the tracks, I saw in other videos here on youtube.
the first take him out of this video; =JlmCWi28CsU
the second track on this video: =Qf5cHKWp1l8
I have asked many times by the names, but I had no response, what I did is take the audio from videos and convert them to mp3, and sound great!
Wow, it looks exactly like a 747-200, way to go USA, keep looking forward ????????????????????????
I'll stick with Airbus thanks.
i saw the plane in real life at boeing field there were two of them
@LottoWinner999 What on earth has your reply below got to do with my last question? So I'll ask again.. Which manufacturer developed the world's first wide-bodied twin engined commercial airliner?
@LottoWinner999 There are several reasons US airlines don't buy the A380. For most, they prefer smaller aircraft such as 777/787 as it suits their scheduling better, ie ethos of point to point/flexibility. Most US airlines are in financial difficulty right now & survival comes first. Others just prefer Boeing anyway as that's what they've always had. Sadly, they don't have much choice any more as MCD were taken over and Lockheed (the best IMO) were put out of business by greedy Boeing
That thing in the tail is supposed to be there..I think ..maybe it collects data.
is a auxiliary speed sensor, for test flights.
Why have Lufthansa cancelled 3 orders for the A380? The Dubai airshow is coming up soon. Won't be surprised if Emirates orders about 400 A380s LOL.
you can see 2 787's after it lands and is taxiing
Qantas has just cancelled its firm orders for 35 787-9 aircraft after Alan Joyce lost patience with Boeing's incompetence and lack of professionalism, a senior Qantas spokesperson said.
Qantas has posted its first loss in 17 years, the cancellation being seen as "prudent" given the economic climate in the airline industry. The airline will still take delivery of the 787-8 over the coming months and options retained. A "substantial" compensation package from Boeing is expected.
If anyone knows the song in the first half please let me know
@mexicanalufthansa unfortunately I do not know the names of the tracks, I saw in other videos here on youtube.
I have asked many times by the names, but I had no response, what I did is take the audio from videos and convert them to mp3, and sound great!
if you like I can send you the songs, send me your email in a messaje
@LottoWinner999 yeah i can tell.....he dont know much about the operation of either plane.
@LottoWinner999 Qatar Airways will be ordering "several" A380s in June, if only to ensure they retain market share with the likes of Emirates and Etihad. What I'm saying is this, airlines will have to buy the A380 or lose custom to those airlines that use it. Its currently the most efficient airliner in the sky with profitability kicking in at load factors above 65%. All the airlines currently using it say it has exceeded their expectations. Americans flying it comment on the quality of it Fact!
Why in every video at google we find people discussing...Usually USA X EURO cars, or planes... Both a380 and 747-8 are great planes. Each one in his maket.
We should talk about the great about each plene and learn for one with each other..Peace...
is the boeing 747-8 the front runner for the new airforce one down the line? please no airbus for replacement airforce one.
How heavy is the new 747?
@LottoWinner999 And BA are replacing all their old 747-400's with A380's. Another Customer lost to the "white elephant"..lol!
@jackknife001 someones obviously never seen a 747 before...
2:06 for take off
@QYD1000 well if you don't believe me go to Boeing official website and watch what they say about the 747-8i.Regards amigo
where did you get the first song? what's it called?
A330-300 is an excellent airliner, but it's dirt cheap and there's no issues with it at the Moment. Did Phillippine actually BUY them or jet leasing them? Like most airlines do nowadays. Virgin leases their aircraft. They'll fly the A330-300 for a few years then the 787 will replace it when its proven, I bet you that.
Why the upper deck is so short? It's not so short on the actual 747-8 intercontinental.
@cody75018 unfortunately I do not know the names of the tracks, I saw in other videos here on youtube.
