It still blows my mind that the diameter of the 777 engine is as big as the 737 or A320 fuselage. One 777 engine can keep a 747 flying at cruise speed, one engine puts out 115,000lbs of thrust which is just crazy. This plane is just an engineering marvel and it was way ahead of it's time.
@@numanabdullah7662The GE90-115b engines on the 777-300er produce 115 thousand pounds of thrust, although it produced 127 thousand pounds during testing, it's actual rating is 115 thousand pounds, the GE9x has a larger fan diameter and reached 137 thousand pounds of thrust, but it's takeoff roll thrust rating in general would be lower when mounted on a 777x.....The GE9x is more powerful but the ge90-115b would still dominate when it comes to takeoff roll thrust ratings.............
I believe the original 777 designer never thought that the 777 could have so much potential, with the currect 77W and the development of the 777X, it proves the aircraft to be a great success and I can't see anyone to have any reason to not love a huge twin-engined aircraft :)
Amazing video clip. Not just because Boeing production but more about showing corporate team spirit between employees and it is so visible. Really priceless and rare.
Very carefully Designed airplane,Boeing working together with many airlines to design this and they didn't rush it...very patient and well engineered airplane...the sales numbers could speak for itself :)
Whoever design this magnificent, beautiful and sexy aircraft must be given a award. This aircraft really change the whole aviation industry. This will be forever my favourite aircraft
This plane is a true monster. Only which you can understand in person. I remember the first time I flew on it back in 2007. Heathrow to Islamabad. From pictures was expecting it to be a medium size aircraft, maybe little bigger than a 737. Boarding at Heathrow you don’t see much of a plane. So I first got a inkling of the size at my window seat, the end of the wings felt like they were about a mile away from me. Was astonishing. However landing in Islamabad, I saw the true size. In Pakistan it was the old style of stairs at the parking slot. So walked the full way around the plane. Upon Walking down the stairs, got my first full view of the absolute enormous rolls Trent engines, it was breathtaking. I’d never seen a engine this big on a plane in my life. ( even the 747 are smaller in diameter and height). I remember thinking holy shit this plane is actually enormous, nothing like I expected. In pictures and videos you cannot fathom the size of this plane, see it in person. It’s jaw dropping.
Who knew back in 1994 it would be a world changer...clearing the way for twinjets to fly any route, anywhere on Earth, making air travel more efficient and affordable than ever...
Its a big aircraft. And I wondered what went through the designers mind when he designed it, and also when it flew for the first time. We all think "wow! that pilot is so good!", yes indeed, he is. But have we ever thought of the designer and engineers who build this huge bird?
All pilots are amazing. They are just that. Simply amazing. Test Pilots are amazing plus something that I don't have words for. There are not words for what they have gave us by pure talent and unbelievable courage. And I thank every one of them.
Seriously, please no 777-10x, it will look extremely ugly and un-elegant and there is a high risk to get another 737MAX - style garbage construction. 777-9x will just be fine.
Superb aircraft from experience. Quite possibly Boeing's best ever and a worthy leader in its class. Sales figures prove what a worldwide success this model has become. A great job by Boeing.
The aircraft is great, but the airlines have ruined the experience of the 777. It was meant to have a 3-3-3 configuration in economy (it's much narrower than the 747), but lately, airlines have been adding another seat to each row, making the seats insanely narrow and uncomfortable. When I flew on American's 777 from DFW, I couldn't even straighten my legs to get blood flowing. I got a cramp and had to limp across Heathrow airport. It's unfortunate that big airline corporations don't give a damn about comfort and only care about how many people they can squeeze in. They have ruined the 777.
Now I love the 4 engines monsters lie A380s and 747s, but the 777 really grown on me, well the 77Ws did. It is funny, the 777 was Boeings ansewer to MD's MD-11 and an Airbus A340. MD never built their ansewer to the 744 the MD-12 double decker, it was supost to be wider than the A380. The MD-12 a tri axles design with a 24 ft wide cabin.
@@caribbaviator7058 Retired, but it flew its last flight to Davis-Monahan and was then towed across the road to its final home at Pima Air & Space Museum.
