My first truck was a 72 Ford F-100 my father bought it new in 1973 I got it in 1985 drove it until 1994 sold it wish I still had it. Can't get anymore basic 4 speed heater only, power steering and brakes that's it. The drum brakes were not bad towed some heavy loads never had a problem stopping with it. Everyone who had a pickup truck I knew were all manual transmission. The only automatic we ever owned was my mothers car.
That is NOT a f-250 high boy. That is a butchered up mess of computerized parts. A half ton running gear, a interior that is made for someone about 5'' tall, a engine that you couldn't make run if a sensor failed. The only thing 72 on that is the body, and you call yourself a restoration shop??? Not Hardly
The only electronics on my 72 F-100 was 2 diodes in the alternator even the external voltage regulator was relays. Good old 2 barrel carb never had a problem with that truck drove it all over the south west no cell phone drive 100's of miles into the desert exploring all I carried was a tool box this was the 1980's. It had duel tanks I would run it down dry in tank flip the valve fire right back up in a few seconds. Looking back on it now it was heck lot more reliable then these electronic engines.
Beautiful truck!
