Coolest Cat I met in NY while riding with Rescue 2 in December 2000. Dispatch wished everyone a Merry Christmas and he told me to say something in the mic, I said "HoHoHo",.... which was promptly met with a "Bah Humbug". One of those things I'll never forget. It was little, but made a lasting impression on me..

Bob Galione is a great dude. It's sad to say never got to work with him. A highly respected rewarding man. I use to watch the Bravest as a kid. Now I get to chat with him on social media. He was one of the guys whom inspired me to become a fireman. Love ya brother and thanks for sharing.
I worked in the old tin house in 2001 for 4 years. I remember meeting him in 2002 or 3 at a job. Respected the rank and a gentleman.
Hello to all who watch & listen to the show. Whether you are young or old, been on the Job 30 minutes or 30 years. If you are true to this profession you will only be inspired to love what we do even more so as you participate in these shows. They will set the stage for the future, keep some traditions alive and current, while bringing some of us back to what was once experienced. Many have commented that it feels as if we are in the firehouse with these guy's ( I know I feel that way every time I watch) and or reliving some of our own kitchen table times and great firehouse experiences. Nothing in my opinion is greater, we definitely have comparable things but nothing other than family can be beat. Whether home family or firehouse Brother & sisterhood families !!! I've been lengthy on some of my messages and I apologies for that, I just truly love what we do. But another Thank you to Lou, Kev & Pete for doing this and for last night's show, Mr.Galione is well respected like so many brother's. I've been a long time fan of FDNY and have learned a lot from my buddies that work there and who I've working side by side with for the past 20+ years. Man I love this JOB!
Anyway, I have a little story I'd like to share with all of you, maybe it will create a get to know you for us in the chat group until our salty brothers do a, lets call it a "lucky guest appearance" on the show for a 10 minute smoke & joke session with the chat Peoples !!!! Put a FACE with the name, I know the chat loves this Idea !!! Anyway, here we go with my little story,
I remember as if it was yesterday. The sound of the Volly whistle going off in town and all the blue light specials running the firehouse to answer the run! Myself waiting for the Rigs to pull out so I could follow them, to one day ending up being one of those blue light specials. I credit Nesconset FD, the guy's I volleyed with and a high school buddy of mine from St.James FD with igniting my fire service career. Here I am, 26 years later, a career Captain, a Member of South Florida's Elite response team and a 15+ year Fire instructor teaching all kinds of Programs. thank you to all who have guided me (the Fire Service as a whole) and who have helped me become the Firefighter I am today. So share with us...

It's crazy listening to this guy, I had uncle who did 20 years in rescue 4, and they sound the same with the stories.
Normally don't watch these live, but tonight I had to tune in live for Bobby Galione. The majority of the video of the FDNY that I watch is The Bravest/Still Riding and Bobby as most know is someone that stars in that. Was great to hear his stories about working in the top company in the borough of fire.
Bobby, Had the pleasure of knowing him when I lived in Ronkonkoma NY and we were both members of the Lakeland Fire Dept. Bobby is a Master of his Craft and one of the nicest guys! I learned a lot from him and treasure the experience. Bobby, I know you love your pizza as do I.

July of 79 working at WTC 4. Decided that I didn’t like office work, so i became a Truck Driver. Years later I would Deliver 165 high back office chairs for the Temporary setup for the Pentagon. One of our trucks ( from Georgia) delivered steel for the Freedom Tower. I did become a volunteer fireman in Bartow county in Georgia for a short period as the driver of the pump truck.

Bob Gallione is my inspiration to become a fireman. I’m 20, and I’ve had a go at a couple different jobs. One day last year I stumbled upon the Rescue 1 and 2 still riding documentary and since I’m enrolling in classes and working on my physical fitness because this man lit a fire under my ass.
It’s the best job in the world. Stick with it. Most rewarding career in the world.

It was my introduction as to how to become a fireman . My career, lasted until 2004 post 9-11. The closing of the Tin House was a sad day. The brothers along with yourself were Eddie Ball, Dennis Monohan , Patty Rudick , I will leave one name out, he turned out to be one of the most selfish basters ever to accept the Job.Thank you hardly seems enough 🇺🇸 Charlie Dalton TL-77
The guy mentioned at 1:43:00, captain Mike Esposito is my uncle who died on 9/11 if you guys are interested in knowing more stories about him please contact me. I didn’t get the chance to meet him because I was only a baby but I live though his stories.

Retired from the job in Kentucky and just recently discovered your show. Just wanted to tell you how much I have enjoyed it especially this episode and the one with Pressler (who I actually had the pleasure of meeting in Baltimore shortly after the Happyland fire). Hearing the names and stories of those guys I grew up idolizing (Downy, Kleehass, Lelpi, Vigianno and many others) brings back such good memories. Keep up the good work and we'll keep watching it down here in horse country!

I would say ESU dabbling in fire rescue. Is not a good idea strategically because you significantly water down experience levels. (Especially today’s call volume.) also if ESU does swat style CQB. It would significantly impact there performance, wasting time on other stuff. In order to be good at CQB tactics you need to be training 5 days per week. And shooting 1000 rounds/week. But I would hope the ESU guys assigned to swat don’t dabble in rescue operations. Hopefully they have separate divisions in ESU at least

It’s called a “cheater” it’s basically an engineered device if you will. So that you can take a “hit” of fresh air when needed and save your air. Very crude. Very frowned upon. Forget you ever heard of it lol.
@@DWBmotorsports funny, because I actually tested a "cheater" that survivair was marketing for their facepieces back in the early 2000s. Thank God I was next to the window in the smokehouse at the training center. Probably the dumbest thing I ever did as a firefighter was use that piece of shit.
