At $100 per car twice per year to swap our tires I pulled the trigger on the DTW1002. She's one badass of a tool and makes wheel swapping a breeze. Has paid for itself already. I love my blues.
Nice testing. This is one big torque wrench you have there ;). Would definitely use one of these but the prices of those big ones are very high. DTW700Z seems to be a decent piece of equipment. Especially the fastening torque is quite impressive. I own their direct competitors from Dewalt so the smaller DCF921 and the bigger DCF891. On paper, they both are little bit stronger and smaller than Makitas, but after this vid it seems that Makita is even stronger than the its spec says. Also it would be useful to add that the loosening torque of DTW700Z is the impressive 1000Nm so basically there is no bolt in a passenger car or even a van that it could not loosen. But on a daily basis I really seldom use DCF891. The smaller DCF921 usually has no problems with almost any car bolts. I suppose it good to have "the bigger brother" for some very stubborn screws ;), but the majority of tasks can be easily handled by the smaller one. If by some chance you got any Dewalt impact, I would gladly see the comparison between Dewalt and Makita (including the 40V version from Makita).
