Great tips, thank you. Hope to see more like it.
Maybe you should clean the diffuser too. Bubbles are too big.
I have so much too do
Hi Patrick,
You are right, the bubbles should be smaller.
Thank you for the suggestion 😉
well done
The addition of the spray bar set below the surface and directed towards the front glass was I think a good idea and am sure helped prevent excessive oxidation of trace elements and loss of CO2. It may however have contributed to the problems of the Bucephalandra, it was directly in the output flow, as far as I could see, though I am sure light was indeed a part of the plant's distress. Frustratingly the Limnophila might actually benefit from stronger light, though I have never found it an easy plant to keep attractive in an aquarium, it's tendency to go leggy when grown underwater means I don't use it, quickly looks great again if potted up and planted in a heated propagator grown terrestrially. Rotala rotundifolia or even weighted Hornwort can, under medium light, look better, and both are easy plants, but good luck with trimming and replanting it might work well. Never tried cutting the top of trimmings before planting with stem plants, I do normally remove and discard the stalks after a second or third trimming, they become algae magnets as they age and lose their power to regenerate, unlike the roses in the garden! Keep up the sensible and realistic content output. We can all learn and reflect from these types of short item films.
Great observations regarding the tank. We are keeping an eye on it everyday to make sure the plants gets the best treatment possible.
We won't re-plant cuttings from future trimmings of the stem plants as the aquarium is quite dense with plants by now.
Thank you for your positive comment. We are planning on have a more consistent upload schedule in the future. :)
these kinds of videos are what hobbists actually needs I believe. Not every one always have spotless tanks.
I would love to have some information on plants suitable for a cold water aquarium please.
Most aquarium plants are happy at room temperature, assuming that's what you mean by cold water. African plants prefer warmer temperatures and can struggle in unheated aquariums but Bolbitis heudelotii can be kept below 24 degrees C. Some plants like Elatine hydropiper can be found naturally in the wild in northern europe and actively prefer cold water.
why to turn off the heater ?
It's always best to turn off the equipment for a maintenance session, we prefer avoiding any liability whilst saving a small amount of energy in the process.
Hi! I'm in the first week of my new planted tank (40l). I'm doing 50% WC on daily basis and use Tropica Specialised Nutrition for fertilizing the plants. It is an heavy planted tank with a lot of epiphytes plants (bucephalandras, montecarlo , ...). The instruction on the bottle mention about a weekly dosage of 1ml per 20l but since i'm changing the water everyday should i adapt the dosage and apply this on a daily basis ? Thanks for your help :)
Daily water changes the first week are a great way of avoiding algae and you should adjust the fertiliser dosage to a daily amount. The dosing instructions are based on the average user, and in heavily planted aquarium you should fertilise based on the demands of the plants. Our inspiration guides list the amount of fertiliser used in heavily planted aquariums tropica.com/en/inspiration/
@@TropicaAquariumPlants Thank you. It seems that i reached 'equilibrium' with a daily single pump of fertilizer. Algae is decreasing and plant growth is good :)
@@yvrezzz That's great to hear 🙌😃
I see you have potamogeton gayi in the aquarium. Why does Tropica no longer sell it?
They look very similar, but it's actually Juncus Repens we've put in the tank. 🌱🌱
You can watch the planting of the tank here ruclips.net/video/sSxgONx7UV4/видео.html
@@TropicaAquariumPlants Oh yes ! In fact, they look a lot alike. But these two plants do not have the same requirements, Juncus Repens is more difficult to cultivate than Potamogeton gayi. You are not answering my question: Why did you decide not to sell Potamogeton Gayi anymore? When Tropica decides to no longer market a plant, it concerns all European aquarists! It is unfair ! You have responsibilities.... (sorry for my english)
Hi @@jaroslavkilian3929
Your english is great, no need to say sorry.
There are many factors in play when we decide to introduce or remove a plant to our product range. We have a dedicated team at Tropica who's looking for plants to keep in our range. Last year we introduced Juncus repens which looks very similar to Potamogeton Gayi.
Maybe Potamogeton Gayi it will be reintroduced to our range again, but not as of right now.
@@TropicaAquariumPlants it's very sad answer 😢
Haha, what happened to your net at 4:57 ? Its half melted! Surely a funny accident.
Wonderful tank, thanks! :)
Hahaha, yeah nicely spotted - The net has seen better days for sure. Glad you like the tank 😃😃
The tips are useful. But how about smiling a little bit?
Aquascaping is a serious business 😁. #jk
