    • @BDQ1975
      @BDQ1975 5 лет назад +14

      KoolHandDuke there’s little left for her at the collegiate level. She set a school, collegiate and world junior record. There is no World Junior Championships this year, next is in 2020.
      If she stays a collegiate, she will have to compete from January to June in all meets that LSU is entered in. The 2020 Olympics starts on July 24. This would mean that the USATF Olympic Trials will be about mid to 3rd week of June, 2020. That will be perhaps a week or two after the NCAA’s Championships are completed. That’s too much and she may be burnt out by the time they get to Tokyo.

      @@BDQ1975 --You make good points. But she may want to finish her education. She has progressed in time becuz of college. Yes, she set 3 records in the NCAAs. There is still more for her to achieve. Like maybe 2 or 3x national champ, Winning the 100m-200m, 4x1 with a national title. Why rush, I'd hate to see happen to her what happened to Katelyn Whitney or Candace Hill. But it's not our choice to make it's hers.

    • @BDQ1975
      @BDQ1975 5 лет назад +1

      KoolHandDuke Everything you said is true. Yes, her progression in her first year of collegiate track has been immensely impressive. Some like Candace Hill and Whitney went straight pros, after successful youth and junior careers. Unfortunately, the early success has translated in the pros. She needs to do what’s best for her. If coming back to LSU for her sophomore year, then more power to her. If her coaches have a plan to get her to Tokyo, let them develop that plan into next year.

ShaCarri is definitely much more like FloJo in that she is definitely more fluid, and just keeps hitting gears with the distance, instead of hitting a wall and maintaining. KoolKaiser--What is your sick obsession with this young girl? I know what the real reason is. But it's not a good look bruh. A grown man this obsessed with a teenager becuz she ran (@ that time) a WL time to win U.S. Nationals. It's creepy that this bothers you so much that you feel the need to antagonize her. Bruh JAM got the WL time, you can let it go now... Honestly, how would you feel about a campaign of nagging criticism about JAM athletes? Not too good I bet.
      For someone who passes himself off as a T&F aficionado one would think that you've seen this before. Here's an example. Janek Brown, another college amateur ran a WL time in the 100mH. I'm a Keni Harrison fan, but you didn't see me or anybody else criticizing Janek or implying anything was suspicious. Just like with Sha, it took care of itself when she went against the pros. Janek and Sha'Carri were beaten like the amateurs they were. End of story. LET IT GO. Like I've said before, you guys are too thin skinned to be criticizing other people the way you do. Now consider the reason; becuz she ran a WL time to win US Nationals. Is that her major crime? Is her crime that she ran it at a time before ET and SAFP? (only they are allowed to run fast huh?) That's really petty. You're a small petty man.
      Now answer my question pls. How would you feel if Americans started a campaign to criticize and harass your athletes? Maybe harass them while on US campuses becuz of your persistent harassment of a 19yo girl. I'm sure JAMs wouldn't like that at all. As smart as YOU THINK you are, you would think you'd get the clue to stop harassing especially since YOU can't take it yourself. I've seen many times JAMs have meltdowns, even becuz they felt the announcers didn't offer sufficient enough praise to your athletes. You call me the most thin-skinned? LOL, that's fine, but the difference is I don't attack YOURS or other peoples athletes and def not for the petty ass reasons you do as it causes bad blood. I'm more than likely to congratulate your athletes and keep it moving. I'll criticize the rabid fan base when necessary, not the athletes themselves, they are only doing their jobs. Some people get that, some people don't.
      You're creating bad blood with this harassment and for what, your poor impulse control? You're too old for this shit. Grow the fuck up. You're also out of touch with reality if you can't see this is in poor taste and shows lack of manners, judgment and maturity. Bullying a teenage girl simply becuz she ran a fast time OVER A MONTH AGO. She's young, she's got plenty of time to rebound from any early failures that you feel the need to taunt her for. You've moved from fanatical to lunacy. Get help man, you're sick, this is not normal behavior, ANYWHERE ON THE PLANET except JAM I guess.

      Maybe you are right! She is very talented and if she replicates that performance in the future then perhaps it is legit.
      My reasoning is that it is highly unusual for the top 7 runners in one race to run faster than anyone in history at their respective positions at the same time. In fact there were some historically fast times in many of the sprint events that day.
      As for FloJo - the 10.49 she ran in 1988 was definitely wind aided, it’s just that the wind gauge was faulty that day - it came up as 0.m/s (ie no wind). All the women in that race ran massive PB’s at the time. You could see a strong swirling wind and the wind gauge for the long jump (in the same direction as the 100m) was reading 5m/s! Furthermore FloJo ran 10.54 in the Olympic final at the peak of her fitness and that wind reading was 3m/s!
      FloJo’s best legitimate time is likely 10.61 - still faster than anyone in history.

    • @jakkeday1
      @jakkeday1 5 лет назад

      @Curtis Majors
      Well the conditions weren’t absolutely optimum and the winner sauntered over the line in celebration, arms aloft, 9th fastest time in history, more than two tenths better than her PB ....hmnnn, I think it’s worth asking the question!
      Of course this is just my opinion but I think this race was an anomaly. At NCAA, national or international level it’s exceedingly rare to have the fastest 1st place time, 2nd place time, 3rd -7th place fastest ever times in history!
      The integrity of track & field / athletics is dependent on accurate timings and clean athletes. That’s why drug cheats have damaged the sport so much. If the accuracy / reliability of the times and measurements were called into question it would be a disaster - that is why no one ever confronts these issues. However if I see something completely out of the ordinary, then I will question it - doesn’t mean I’m right, just that I would like an evidence based, factual explanation for that which seems erroneous.
      I wish Sha’Carri all the best and hope she can replicate this performance. In fact I hope they all do because I’m a big fan of the sport.

    She pulled up at 90m -95m and cruised aka losing around 0.015 sec and was still 0.02 off world record time .

    She should turn Pro after this year. Even if she didn't win against the Pros, her times would be faster because of the competition. At this point the college level isn't helping her to push herself to her Max. I know she's good and I like her a lot and think she's great for the sport....but FLOJO's time will probably never be broken. Her technique was ahead of its time. Her foot never stayed on the ground as long as other sprinters and her knees were straight when her foot hit the ground and she never bent her back leg too much.
    If Richardson implemented FloJo's run technique, then she will get very close. But the running style now will never beat 10.49.
