    As a data analyst I compared dozens of cars and I have found that this particular vehicle is in a top three category with BMW and Lexus for this year make model and style of vehicle. I can guarantee you the CVT engine is nothing to worry about it boasts more than enough power and saves a generous amount on fuel

    Gorgeous exterior and interior. I just got the majestic white 2020 QX50 Sensory FWD with Apple Car play and Android Auto and the interior finish is top notch. The CVT will take some getting use to specially coming from my previous car (2017 Q60 Red Sport), acceleration is slower in QX50 but has a smooth and quieter ride which I preferred to Q60 Red Sport stiffer ride. I'm not doing spirited driving, racing or taking this car to the track or bombing in the canyon road. I got this car because of the good deal I got from Infiniti with huge discount and incentives. The safety features of this car is really good and it drive itself and the looks. Infotainment looks dated, and not stopping my decision to get this car.

    I just sat in one and REALLY liked the layout and space. I'm tall and it is one of the few vehicles that puts the steering wheel in just the right spot. I currently drive a 2016 Q503.0T AWD and would not buy another one. It is a great Swiss Army knife solution (eco mode 28mpg and sport mode 17mpg) IMO. My wife doesn't mind driving it as much as she did the G37x. It just doesn't put a smile on my face like the G37X I had before it did. Especially when you start a G37x and the car shakes. Back to Lexus I go!

    Nice review! If Infiniti wanted to expand the market for this, they should of avoided the CVT. The QX60 already has a CVT. Scares me that they could potentially think of putting a CVT in the Q50.

    • @twystedhumour
      @twystedhumour 5 лет назад

      @@xorbitman Yep, and it's a personal choice. The Infiniti's interior feels like a touch above Acura. At least we have choices: want more performance - Acura; want more comfort and still some power, QX50. Of course, I'd wait to see which holds up better; Honda 10-speed, or Nissan CVT.

    The interior is nice, the exterior is nice, but that powertrain really doesn't match the price tag. It matches the new Altima just fine, and Nissan agrees as they've put it in there, but this engine and CVT should not have been in the new QX50. What a let down, seeing as how good looking it is inside & out.

      @@NONARCS The infotainment is fine. No Apple car play, but we use Sirius anyway. The CVT is a great and simple in design. If it holds up long term that will be the question and so far so good with ours. Best looking cross over in the mix IMO. Regular maintenance will assure longevity.

    Amazing car though, drives perfectly..
    I came from an Audi and chose this over the Q5, BMW X3, and Mercedes GLC (GLC was the worst). Audi technology is great - BUT the steering, comfort and space is beating Audi, BMW and Mercedes.

      @@l.lyn.5914 definitely not, the new look on the outside is nice. But the duel screen is garbage. New isn't better. Unfortunately they dropped the ball on this one. @joelrepass2379 5 лет назад

      Their CVTs are fine as long as you take care of them and change the fluids every year. The things that are holding me back on buying one of these is the new engine style which is the first of its kind in a production vehicle and usually when manufacturers try out new engine styles the almost always never work. The other thing is the infotainment which is awful.

    This vehicle falls short vs a BMW X1 even. The infotainment system in this Infiniti is 10 year old technology that shouldn't even be in a vehicle this expensive. The rest of the vehicle falls flat in every detail against BMW. Too much road noise and the handling is mushy and the ride is choppy. Sorry Infiniti.... I have a 2012 Infiniti 37xS coupe (Red) with lots of customization both inside and out and I can honestly say that this model is not up to the standards of other vehicles that they build.

      Allan Sonac How can you compare the X one to the infinity are you joking x1 is junk

    • @xorbitman
      @xorbitman 5 лет назад

      @@benlisi2540 Why are you insulting me. What kind of credibility do you think you now have calling a car junk? Car and Driver just named the BMW X1 Best Premium medium sized x over (SUV). Look at the numerous reviews right here on RUclips! I'm 63 years young and have been driving cars probably since you've been in diapers. I have driven so many cars from ones that i owned to the numerous ones that I have rented while on business or vacation including some rentals for up to a month (2018 Dodge Charger R/T). You can order an X1 fully loaded with optional leather seating far superior to that of the QX50. The infotainment system which I already discussed is total crap and don't take my word for it. Look anywhere here on RUclips. I had the privilege of being invited to see this vehicle at the official unveiling at the 2017 Montreal International Auto Show in January last year during press day. I sat in it and a few days months later in the summer I took it out for a test drive. It drove like a truck, it was sluggish because it is heavy and under-powered plus that CVT is garbage as are most of the CVT's in Nissan's product line which by the way is the main reason I didn't buy a Murano which is even better than the QX50. I own a beautiful 2012 G37xS Coupe in Red; It's my hobby sports car. Before that I used to own a 2001 Nissan Maxima SE and a 2005 Nissan Maxima SE. My 05 and my G are modified especially my G inside and out. They should've used the same transmission as the Q50 or an automatic like other luxury brands. If you look at the BMW 8 speed automatic transmission is one of the best out there, and this is not coming from me, look again at the reviews of the 2018 model which is a big improvement over the 2017. I have optioned out this car and managed to get a great price because of the end of year incentives. I'm not fooled by cheap faux leather stitching on the console and doors. This doesn't impress me. Some luxury vehicles use real leather with double piped stitching and that's nice especially in contrasting colors which the optional seats have. I have the optional 8.8" touch screen with the new system 6 software and It is truly remarkable. You can customize this car so easily with a Burger Motorsports JB4+ computer for gobs for more TQ and HP and also you can unlock a lot of hidden features and options with Bimmer Code such as: fold in mirrors after shutting engine etc. www.caranddriver.com/bmw/x1
      Look at the Consumer Reports rating of the Infiniti QX50 and the BMW X1. Also the gas mileage is best in class. Sorry but you need to back up your claims with facts and not just your personal 1 word opinion. Look at page 115 : Consumer Reports November 2018 New Car 2019 guide. If you look at the direct competitor in it's class, the BMW X3 81 points and number 1 overall in it's segment and the QX50 67 points and not recommended. At least my X1 is. recommended and the newer 2018 -19 models are much better than the 2017 which this edition's review is based on. I rest my case.
