Enjoy the FIRST in-depth review on the all-new 2019 Infiniti QX50!!! The model shown is a LOADED Essential trim, so let us know what you think about it in the comments below :) As always, LIKE and SUBSCRIBE if you enjoyed!
It’s a great car overall but everything you want in a luxury vehicle is exclusive to the sensory package. I also can’t wait to hear more feedback on the variable compression engine. It sounds amazing in concept and I didn’t think it’d be out so soon
Gorgeous exterior and interior. I just got the majestic white 2020 QX50 Sensory FWD with Apple Car play and Android Auto and the interior finish is top notch. CVT will take some getting use to specially if you are coming from a sportier car which in my case my previous car was (2017 Q60 Red Sport). The QX50 acceleration 0-60 is slower but has a smooth and quiet ride compared to Q60 Red Sport stiffer ride due to the sport suspension. I can live with the slower acceleration since I'm not doing any spirited driving, racing or taking it to the track or bombing in the canyon road. The safety features of this car and for the price (huge dealer discount and incentives) helped my decision to go with QX50 a loaded family vehicle and utility.
Can't understand how nissan has android auto and car play but not infinity. I was looking at this model in the luxe trim in silver but the lack of that feature turns me off.
Truly impressed with this Infiniti model. 20 years of testing the new VC-T before coming to the US. The styling is very innovative, classy and sporty. Cannot wait to see this model on the road.
VQ3713 Hi. Do you mind stating more information about this engine? Was it a Renault engine before? Which vehicle overseas featured this engine? I've been following up on Nissan's tech and powertrains since the introduction of the incredible VQ Series V6 engine in the 1995 Maxima and I've never come across any mentioning of this particular engine in the last 20 years. A detuned version of this engine will also be featured in the new 2019 Nissan Altima. It is very reassuring to hear that this engine has 20 years of testing behind it so, hopefully it will be very reliable and durable for Nissan/Infiniti. The older VQ engines tended to suffer from engine ping/spark knock, and cold start timing chain rattle so, hopefully that won't be the case with this new engine.
MaximaMan06 Hey there, here is a good link about this engine. Right now it is in the QX50. Probably will replace the Mercedes 2.0 in the Q50 and Q60, possible the QX30 but that’s based off the Mercedes GLA. I cannot recall exactly where it was tested, assuming China and or Japan. I love my VQ tho. I am sure this engine will bring big smiles with efficiency and reliability. Check this out - newsroom.nissan-global.com/releases/infiniti-vc-turbo-the-worlds-first-production-ready-variable-compression-ratio-engine
VQ3713 Thank you for the link. It was an interesting read. To think that Nissan/Infiniti engineers were working on bringing this engine to life since 1998 is pretty impressive.
Hi, Drew, great review as usual. I'm just curious, is automotive journalism your overall career goal and main reason behind your drive for these reviews, or is this more of a hobby for you? Whichever, it's my opinion that you should do this as a career, because the amount of detail and effort you put into your reviews are absolutely fantastic. I'm starting become excited to see the next review from you. :-)
I'm currently working on a Bachelors degree in an unrelated field, but auto journalism is mine and Mason's passion. I'm hoping to continue developing my skills in this area as much as I can, so that if the situation ever arises that I could do this full-time then I would in a heartbeat! In a couple years we hope to officially join the automotive press!
Ah, Ok. That's great. I can definitely relate to that, I have a bachelors degree in psychology, but currently work in consumer relations. I'm seeking to advance to my Masters in Psych and become a vocational rehab counselor, specially focusing on finding gainful employment for individuals with disabilities, such as myself.
I think you'll be successful in anything you do. Just chatting with you for this short amount of time since joining your channel, I can since how down to earth you are, and that is something that is becoming more and more rare these days. Whatever your career path is, I hope you keep your characteristic, as I really think they'll take you very far in your journey. Keep up the good work and look forward to more reviews from you and Mason.
Believe it or not I actually tried to film a short test drive, but due to some technical difficulties the only usable part was while I was in the parking lot, lol. As to my thoughts, the power feels really good but the CVT hinders things. Engine's a bit noisy but you truly can't tell the transition between compression ratios.
I saw your video for qx50 and lexus rx350. From your prospective which car is more appealing for you to buy????really appreciate your reply and thanks for the video....very informative
A friend has 2019 with Essential trim. Both she and I cannot understand the lack of clarity for power folding mirrors! Some reviews state it is equipped. Owners manual does not say anything about a power folding feature. Why is this so confusing??
BrookynBorn That's a bad point given how this vehicle is designed to compete with the Lexus NX200t. The Infiniti QX60 directly competes with the Lexus RX350. I have loved the RX350 for years but man, those huge grilles and super futuristic design cues Lexus has been doing lately is too much. I find the designs of the QX50 and QX60 to be really attractive and handsome. The new Acura RDX is another stunning design too.
BrookynBorn That's only when you start including options or considering the upper trims. When you start including options at higher trims then yes, I totally agree with you and say that this vehicle's pricing gets ridiculous. I'd definitely consider an RX350 or QX60 if I'm going to go into the $45,000 - $50,000 range. But a nicely equipped QX50 in the realm of $41,000 borderline $44,000 wouldn't be too bad. The base QX50 starts at $36,550 while the starting price of an RX350 is $43,270 and QX60 is $43,300. The manufacturer is definitely hoping to push out super loaded QX50s at prices in tune with their MSRP but, even rich people have become a bit smarter at shopping around for a good deal on a new vehicle so, most won't pay MSRP unless they just don't care about that. I tell you this much, the QX60 is based on the Nissan Pathfinder. If Nissan bases their next Rogue off of this QX50 with that new VC Turbo engine (with lesser horsepower of course) then they will have a great contender in their future lineup. So far I have read nothing but great reviews online of the new engine from folks who already own the QX50 and it seems like it will be another Nissan gem like their VQ engine was.
I cannot justify this car’s existence when a cheaper yet more capable and premium Murano from Nissan exists. The VC turbo isn’t worth the premium. The Murano even features Apple CarPlay and Android auto.
The problem with most infinity models is that it looks almost identical with its Nissan counterpart, that's where Honda and Nissan get it wrong really with their premium brands Acura and Infinity. Unlike Lexus which is so distinct from all Toyota models apart from sharing a few platforms and parts. But the exterior and interior styling is completely different from its mainstream Toyota division. That's why Infinity and Acura continue to struggle globally Even Audi shares platform and parts with VW but it still looks different in exterior and interior styling..
Samson Okoro Previous gen model... yes. I think new gen models will have more differences. Infiniti has improved over the years. Audi and VW... I still see similarities. Especially the A7 and the new flagship Arteon by VW to name one.
You’re paying for the more premium brand, material qualities and look. Though it might not be important to you, appearance and status are important to many people.
I just got one two weeks ago and love it❤❤❤
You do such a thorough review and add just the perfect commentary.
Thanks! Glad you liked it!
fantastic review! enjoyed every minute of it. you all are always the first to get new cars
Thanks! We try our hardest to get 'em fast!
Car Confections Lincoln Navigator full review please 🙂
Silver Rayleigh Our dealer has one in transit but it is taking FOREVER to arrive! It's so frustrating since it is actually built in KY!
I am now in love with this new QX50. why didn't they come out with this earlier???
Thank you for the detailed and calm review! It saved a lot of time in figuring out many aspects without going to a dealership.
You're welcome! Glad we could help!
I love my 2019 QX50
Hi I have a Q50 and I might get one of these to replace it with. Have you had any issues with it so far?
I luv 💜🧿 my 2019 QX50 also fun vehicle drive

I really like that fancy one inside the building. But the black one you did in the video looks good too. Thanks
Haha yeah, unfortunately that one was sold and couldn't leave the building... :(
It's got much better look inside and out!
Great review!! Good job and thank you
you guys are my favorite reviewers! 🙂 i always look for your videos first before any other youtubers
Aww thanks! Have a great day!
Very informative review. Excellent presentation and extremely helpful in determining whether I will consider getting this vehicle.
Glad you found it helpful! Thanks for watching!

Nice looking refresh of the QX50. However, all those option packages to get some sort of common lux vehicle items will add up quickly I'm thinking.

Thank you!

Awesome! That's what we like to hear :)
Rallye Moncton Infiniti opening April 01st,2019. The only Infiniti Dealership in New Brunswick. Just can’t wait!
Nice review
cool car. Didn't know these were out yet
Yep, we try to get them fast lol😂
Just Awesome!!!!!
Great review. Would be even better if you did a driving review. How does this car do on the road impressions

Beautiful ❤
Nice . It got rid of the old coupy look
Nice 👍

I'm honestly not sure :/ both have pros and cons. The QX50 is definitely better looking on the outside but the RX might be more refined
Nice car
Is that a head up display?
Why do you push the gear shift back to go forward and front to go in reverse?
Push star怎麼會放在排檔桿附近而不是放在方向盤下方呢?很奇怪
是有法律規定一定要放在方向盤下?一堆高級車,超跑也沒放在方向盤下啊.🤦🏻♂️
Hows this do with a childseat ?
2:22 Sorry if I’m wrong, but isn’t that fake sound effect?
Is there an option for you to add spare tire for the car???
cvt and no apple carplay?
system update in later in 2019 for infotainment system
NO power folding side mirrors on $60k car.Its a deal breaker . Just returned from dealer . canceled the order.
A friend has 2019 with Essential trim. Both she and I cannot understand the lack of clarity for power folding mirrors! Some reviews state it is equipped. Owners manual does not say anything about a power folding feature. Why is this so confusing??
At fifty Grand it's way out classes by Lexus RX.

MaximaMan06 but it's priced at the RX level

What is the horsepower
@@MattCC16Gaming thank you so much
still no carplay 2019 wtf I got 2015 q50 cvt engine sound suck
clarence Williams good news! They added Apple CarPlay and Android Auto for the 2020 model year. You should check it out!😁😂
I cannot justify this car’s existence when a cheaper yet more capable and premium Murano from Nissan exists. The VC turbo isn’t worth the premium. The Murano even features Apple CarPlay and Android auto.
Murano and this QX50 ride differently... slightly different consumer as well.
