Muhsan2 ask Wards Auto. The interior is pretty different from the Q50, outside of it having two screens. All depends on the package and/or trim you pick, but those vary between 2019 and 2020
Been shopping all including Infinity QX 50 for a couple of weeks. Settled on the Infinity for one main reason... my 6'2" frame has leg room! The others didn't consider making 44+ inches of leg room for me, so they lost out. Every car has something for everyone. Infinity offers the thing I treasure the most....LEG ROOM!!!

When I heard of this new redesign I waited for it before purchasing my next vehicle as I do love Infiniti. Other than the beautiful looks of the exterior and interior seats, sadly there’s not much else. Plus it’s pretty pricey based on the options I prefer. So I ended up with the Acura RDX A-Spec.
acemanawc The RDX is a nice car too but it has its problems with transmission second and third gears choppy ride the screen freezes and for a sports vehicle the QX 50 with the CVT is faster imagine if it had a regular transmission
I'll pick the Acura RDX over this. The infotainment/dashboard layout is dated and the power-train isn't exciting. Fuel economy seems to be the main forte of this vehicle
My uncle has a ex35 with around 200,000 miles on the odo and it still runs perfectly, and it also soung great. Nissan is basically ruining Infiniti nowadays.
That’s why I’m hanging on to my 05 FX35 for as long as I can. I made it known to the Infiniti people when I was at the LA Auto Show that I would jump ship to Porsche Macan or Alfa Romeo Stelvio if they didn’t release a VR30 successor to the FX
@@iheartgs400 can't blame you there. The macaan or even the stelvio wold be really fun cars, different level than infitiniy. But infinity has been making great cars for the money in the mid 2000s. Not sure what happened :(
Motor Trend says the RDX 2.0T is slower than the 2019 QX50 2.0T with it's new engine where the RDX new Accord 2.0T is putting out less. "...The 268-hp crossover recorded a 0-60 mph time of 6.6 seconds and a 15.1-second quarter mile at 91.6 mph. That's a good bit slower than the last 280-hp Alfa Romeo Stelvio Ti Sport we tested but slightly quicker than the 272-hp Acura RDX A-Spec." So C&D 6.6 second 0-60 mph was correct on calling it a Bspec or Cspec. Even Consumer Reports's 7.0s 0-60 was also correct. No sub 6-second time for RDX 2.0T.
Seriously, I hate Nissans and Infinite now. They are outdated, and over priced. And why is it so hard to just put in an auto or manual and not, of course, a CVT
Daniel Maggio Exterior is fine. What is horrible is the transmission and interior. About interior, why does that infotainment system look soo 2005? Aren’t infotainment systems one of the easiest parts in a car? Just compare this to the 2020 Lincoln Aviator or Land Rover Velar. Not even close
I bought a 2017 qx50. So happy I got one. Still had the 3.7L V6. It tears up the pavement lol. And sounds amazing. I can say I will not buy another one though. And it's sad too because they had a really nice line up. They should've kept the V6 3.7L as an option. I will say I still love the cars they make. Nice styling. But when the time comes for a new SUV, I'm going to Porsche. Sorry Nissan but with that price tag, I'm better off saving a bit more and getting something better.
I had one while my QX60 was getting anew CVT under warranty. I used to love Infiniti but they keep dropping the ball. I rent a lot of Rogues when I travel for work and this is in no way worth the cost vs that. Engine noise is loud and just awful sounding. My mom was between this and the Lexus RX350, hers is 100x nicer and more quiet than this. I wanted to love the Q60 but I just bought a Tesla and never looking back. We were a family of 4 Infinitis, we are down to 0 when it came time to replace
Nissan needs to learn about turbo 4 from BMW. I rented a 2014 BMW X3 with a turbo and a conventional 8 auto. I was in love! It sounded good and in performance mode it acted like a sports car.
So much better looking than the 2019 RDX 2.0T and quicker too! The reclining and sliding rear seat that cant be found at any trim level of the RDX. Tri-zone climate is truly a luxury that RDX doesn't offer.
My dad and I test drove a 2020 a Infiniti QX50 Essential with the edition 30 package 2 weeks ago. I have to say we were pretty impressed with it. They did some fixes and updates for the 2020 model year. That includes it has apple car play now. It was even this or the Range Rover Evoque. We ended up getting the Range Rover. But if that did not worked out then this would been the one that we got.
It’s a good car, but the only thing that really lets this car down is the technology. The gauge cluster is super dated, and the infotainment system. Also, the engine sound
No doubt a nice vehicle, however, should not have a CVT at it's price point and luxury level. This would be an absolute deal breaker for me. Thanks for the as usual exceptional review!
Dear Nissan stop buying your CVT transmission from JATCO. Because they are not reliable, these JATCO CVT transmission is messing up your reputation. Do like TOYOTA,buy your CVT transmission from AISIN instead. In the 5th generation Altima is a mess,Murano, and Rouge a lot of them had transmission problem. Please Nissan buy your CVT transmission from AISIN.
Nissan owns part of Jatco. Toyota owns part of aisin. Nissan isn't going away from Jatco unless they sell off their shares and pay more to buy from Aisin.
Nissan/Infiniti keep making the mom buying migration.... Pathfinder truck to pathfinder minivan (With CVT) and now the QX50 EX35 (basically a Nissan 350 Z) to a turbo charged Nissan Rogue/CVT... The problem I have is how much praise these changes get... Until the test drive which proves weird or awkward because of the computers attempt to replicate an automatic transmission gear shift with the CVT and the experience of Turbo Lag.... We all know you get paid to tell us how great this car is.... I would just prefer some more truth.... Would you buy this with your money? If not what would you buy?
I'm telling y'all it's not bad as y'all think it is I drove the 4-cylinder Turbo Lexus NX300 I'm telling you that thing got power it's got this nice growl when you behind the wheel you just got to drive the twin turbo 4-cylinder to see exactly
this is a great car, but i could tell this guy was low-key hating on the car and purposely driving badly to make it seem like it is not that good of a car than it actually is. i like this car a lot and i have one in the autograph trim in grey, and same rims. it’s really stylish and you get several good looks from the car, i recommend this to any beginner drivers who have a price range of around $60k
I had a CVT in a Nissan Murano and the damn thing went nuts and needed to be replaced, and this was the second time in 100000 miles that it had to be replaced. It is a piece of junk, a regular transmission is far superior. I would never buy a CVT again! Cost over $4,000 to replace it each time! The CVT transmission oil was $10 a quart! I don't think so.
@@syr72 Question how quick is it? I know the gas mileage is pretty bad back in the days especially with the older Infiniti's, Ive seen some people getting 15 city. I was thinking of leasing a new morano or just buying out an older fx.
@@Nestle245 it's slow as hell from the dig but if you floor it going 40mph it does have some torque. I get like 14 city as well. It was bought for me so I can't complain at all lol and it happens to be one of my favorite SUVs. Im gonna drive it until it dies, I don't want any car payments for now. Also if you could find a clean 07-08 fx35 get it. Way more fun than any Murano
@@syr72 That's what I was thinking. I was thinking if since the Murano will be a 2018/19 if the driving dynamics would be the same, but if you say the FX is more fun to drive/sportier I'll look into it. It still looks good for being so old and the engine sound is great. The 2009 FX generation looks great too.
That's Carlos Ghosn for you! Le Cost Cutting means old infotainment systems and shared transmissions with other Renault and Nissan products, since they order in very big-scale numbers. If they had to get new infotainment systems, steering mechanisms, and transmissions, there's huge writedowns involved and extra cost. Hopefully with Ghosn out of the way, they can put better and more varied mechanical parts in there.
Tried buying the older version QX with the V6 then drove the Q50 with the new turbo 6 and it was game over. I can't believe they won't put that motor in the QX it is so good. Faster than the 3L in my 2013 BMW even in the regular version. The QX is a bigger car so why stick it with a 4 cyl makes no sense. I don't really sedans and would definitely look at this car if it had a decent motor and transmission. Guess they are going a completely direction than I am interested in. I will enjoy my Q50 acceleration all day long until they change things.
I’ve had four Infiniti’s and this was going to be my next one. Went to the auto show to see it and to confirm I could get the 3.0t, that I have in my current Q50 sport. “No, it’s an exciting new four cylinder and CVT”. 55k+ is moving into Macan territory, as well as, many other options. I’ll still test drive it, but I’m pretty disappointed in this drivetrain and really don’t care for the engine note.
I miss the SRT-4 Neon... That thing sounded great. I hope they will make a RWD/AWD Performance Purest of the Old FX50 model... not everyone wants CVT/4 and Car Based Altima SUV
I love the CD Player. Most car now are blutooth to the phone. I hate that. When you go near he mountain or somewhere out the city and town, it sometime twitches. I love burning my own music.
I was looking at this vehicle today, and was extremely disappointed in the 2008ish infotainment system top display screen. The Navigation system reminds me of the 2006 garmin I had 13 years ago, and the fact that a new 2019 vehicle has no carplay or android auto is a complete show stopper for me. I walked out of the dealership. While I think the vehicle looks nice, I think its a major fail.
Nice overall review and good points enthusiasts should consider. Note that the top trim is "Essential", not "Essence" which is how I heard you refer to it. Essential is kind of a dumb name IMO, that sounds like the base trim, not the top tier, but whatever. So I actually traded my 2005 Infiniti FX45 with its big V8 for this car, a 2019 QX50 Essential AWD and have had it about two weeks now. If you work the pricing it can be a good value, I got mine out the door for $42,200, with the Bose premium audio system and heated seat package. The Essential comes standard with most of the good parts of the ProAssist electronics, such as intelligent cruise control, parking sensors, the 360 camera views, etc. I didn't want/get the semi-autonomous drive features (lane control mainly) since I wouldn't use it and I didn't want drive-by-wire; the regular rack & pinion with electric assist has a decent road feel to it. I have yet to have any wheel spin with the AWD setup. I was actually considering the Audi Q5 (love that 7 speed dual clutch transmission) but this is my "cruiser" car for traveling to race weekends (I race a vintage 77 Lola T-430 Formula Ford) and the amount of space available compared to the Audi was striking. You also notice the width, you don't feel like your passenger is sitting on top of you. Yes, I'm disappointed there's no Android Auto but the interior is beautiful (I have the same stitched leather shown in the video but in the darker granite color, and aluminum trim instead of wood) and compared to the FX45's infotainment system the QX50 offers a nice set of features we didn't have in the old car (Bluetooth!! 😜). I actually like the dual screen setup, I just wish the nav display was Google maps :) The ride is quiet and smooth (there's actually active noise cancelling in the cabin) and that mid-range torque is fantastic on the highway. In the city I drive it exclusively in Sport mode and it's great. I probably wouldn't buy this if it was my only car but it isn't, and space and long-drive comfort were the deciding factors (the legroom in the back seat compared to the Audi is considerable as well). And the mileage is nothing to sneeze at, we're getting 10-12 MPG better on highway drives compared to the FX45. So for me, anyway, Infiniti came up with the right set of features for a vehicle in this segment at the right price. Everything has trade-offs, the QX50's works for me.
2020 models will have Carplay and Android Auto, and with all new infotainment system(12inch screen). CVT for QX60 will go away around 2021, instead is 9 speed AT and with all new generation QX60. Late 2019 might have a new model call QX50 Sport come out, it probably looks like BMW X6, and hope they don't use cvt for this one. Guys, I know Infiniti haven't done a good job, but I believe they are working on it. By the way, CX-5? The quality and the finish are not even close to QX50. So please stop judging it just by the look. Touch it and feel it.
Good review as always. However, you said its a direct injection engine. However, the website says it a point AND direct injection engine. Big difference. For longevity I like the PDI engine like ford and Toyota do.
It has the wrong transmission for such an innovative motor. The dual screen setup makes sense if customers really do want the map to display at all times. But this vehicle needs Apple Car Play and Android Auto. At $40,000, the aging Lincoln MKC is the better buy. Never thought I say it, but I think I'm getting a Lincoln.
I had JX35 than QX60 that I traded for QX50 and loving it soooo much and very happy with my choice.I had 2010 G37 with 7 speed auto witch was the worst transmission ever! The new CVT in the QX50 it is a fantastic tranny compare to the QX60 it is so much better in every way !
Granny car now, compared to the previous model(s) or my Nissan Skyline Crossover 370GT Four, although long in the tooth interior wise (the old model exterior still looks great and holds up years and years later) - compared to this new design and features and power, meh. Here's hoping Mazda has a sportier version up its sleeve, at least their similar offerings are rocking!
I'm not fond of how that 4 cylinder sounds at all! And it's amazing to me that they'd include 2 different screens that have such disparate qualities. It just makes the top screen look that much worse!

The CX5 Turbo is virtually only thing from Japanese arena worth getting in CUV otherwise you need to go Porsche Macan or Alfa Romeo Stelvio.
That is one of the worst sounding engines I’ve heard lol
When I heard of this new redesign I waited for it before purchasing my next vehicle as I do love Infiniti. Other than the beautiful looks of the exterior and interior seats, sadly there’s not much else. Plus it’s pretty pricey based on the options I prefer. So I ended up with the Acura RDX A-Spec.
Pure Life Yea no I’ve heard worse..
acemanawc The RDX is a nice car too but it has its problems with transmission second and third gears choppy ride the screen freezes and for a sports vehicle the QX 50 with the CVT is faster imagine if it had a regular transmission
acemanawc By the way it’s a much more luxurious interior nicer leather leather - leather pretty much everywhere
Love the new logo Redline
I'll pick the Acura RDX over this. The infotainment/dashboard layout is dated and the power-train isn't exciting. Fuel economy seems to be the main forte of this vehicle
Wow that engine sounds like a lawnmower. Going to miss the awesome VQ Exhaust note
This car is totally selling well for Infiniti. The reviewer and many of these comments totally don't like the car but woman love it!
My uncle has a ex35 with around 200,000 miles on the odo and it still runs perfectly, and it also soung great. Nissan is basically ruining Infiniti nowadays.
My favorite is the FX line. Sporty but practical.
shame they discontinued it :/
@@valerikarastoyanov7503 I know right :'(
That’s why I’m hanging on to my 05 FX35 for as long as I can.
Not sure what happened :(
MaxSpeed its still there for the Q50 the potential of the VR30 is insane it just needs a transmission update and great bang for the buck.
That's a good bit slower than the last 280-hp Alfa Romeo Stelvio Ti Sport we tested but slightly quicker than the 272-hp Acura RDX A-Spec."
So C&D 6.6 second 0-60 mph was correct on calling it a Bspec or Cspec.
Yep I'm Nissan'd out too
Nano II I agree with you on this one. Overpriced - Zero excitement= No sale. What the hell's going on over at Nissan😕
It is the interior design not the exterior they have been using the same interior for like 6 years. It is time to a new model.
Nano II 2020 Lincoln Aviator! They got it right with that one. Flat out gorgeous🏎
The engine sounded like it was struggling or maybe it was just the cvt when you floored it from a stop. Id take the NA engine and 7 speed anyday.
When your $50K+ "Luxury" SUV sounds like a 2003 Honda Civic
How dare you insult a 2003 Civic like this.
Paul H Damn Paul! 😂
When your 50K+ SUV sounds like an old RC airplane nitro engine.
Nissan needs to learn about turbo 4 from BMW. I rented a 2014 BMW X3 with a turbo and a conventional 8 auto. I was in love! It sounded good and in performance mode it acted like a sports car.
Infiniti used to have powerful V6 engines with RWD now it’s FWD with a weak engine. Such a shame they used to be sporty!
Keep it up man get excited every time you post
This car is getting butchered in the comment section, but agree, needs V6, automatic, updated infotainment, etc.
Interested in how to reset the brakes on this car? You can watch this video: ruclips.net/video/ZY2Xnbl48Dg/видео.html, welcome to like and follow.
Also, it literally sounds like my Keurig when it makes the humming sound.
Laughed so hard at that exhaust note 😂 4:21
What's with all the new cars sounding like vacuum cleaners? I want an engine to sound like an engine, not like I'm cleaning my carpet.
Always love the infinite brand, there are manior problems that can be fixed, but it's still a good brand.
20:31 This noise wakes me up. Stop mowing the lawn I'm sleeping!
It’s a good car, but the only thing that really lets this car down is the technology. The gauge cluster is super dated, and the infotainment system. Also, the engine sound
This is Infiniti’s answer to the RDX? LOL
Also, that key fob is around 10 years old.
Maticalise Music Master exactly lmaoo They just gave us a Murano with the leather seats
Keye T I was gonna go with Rogue but that works I guess lol
More like 15 years old
Maticalise Music Master lol
Keye Haze I think the QX50 is based off the Murano lol
No doubt a nice vehicle, however, should not have a CVT at it's price point and luxury level. This would be an absolute deal breaker for me. Thanks for the as usual exceptional review!
Scott Lynch Why were you going to buy one
Especially not a CVT that's also used in the Dodge Caliber.
I still like the QX70,,its a beast and a great Sports SUV,,it runs fast like the Porsche
When you step on it at 27:45 it just sounds like clutch slipping lol. Feckin cvt.
About 2 years ago people was as upset about Acura as now but yeah, time will changes.
So sofyans new filming location is a pre school parking lot...
CAM AUTO Aisin**
@@805NAVE
Thanks
Love your video.
The kids waking in the background are to funny but I love it
this is a great car, but i could tell this guy was low-key hating on the car and purposely driving badly to make it seem like it is not that good of a car than it actually is.
i like this car a lot and i have one in the autograph trim in grey, and same rims. it’s really stylish and you get several good looks from the car, i recommend this to any beginner drivers who have a price range of around $60k
I will buy CX5 over this every time!
Best bang for the buck is the Mazda CX-5 Turbo all wheel drive. FWD CVT for 50k plus in a no deal. Plus made in Mexico too.
Cute little kindergarten class making an appearance in the background 🤗
I'm better off with my 2005 Infiniti FX35.
That FX still looks great currently, looks better than this shit.
I got an 03. Gray with orange interior and it has 260k on it. Still running like a champ
Very good and quality reviews. Great job Sofyan!
Always the best car review channel in the world !great job!
Thank you for your honesty I enjoyed your video 👍🏻👍🏻
I miss the SRT-4 Neon... That thing sounded great. I hope they will make a RWD/AWD Performance Purest of the Old FX50 model... not everyone wants CVT/4 and Car Based Altima SUV
I love the CD Player. Most car now are blutooth to the phone. I hate that. When you go near he mountain or somewhere out the city and town, it sometime twitches. I love burning my own music.
You can add a light sensor to a non used fuse and increase/decrease the interior light. Very easy.
The FX35 sounds better and still looks better on the exterior and its nearly 20 years older. The FX will always be the king for Infiniti's crossovers.
Great Review Of 2019 Infiniti QX50 😀
Love the dual screen system. Much better than the ugly tablets sitting on the dash with an inconvenient mousepad
They should put a traditional 7 or 8 speed, that CVT made me look for another brand.
the kids walking are killing me XD lol
Excellent review. Love the look of it but like you said there are better options out there for thr money.
I love the step in heights of these suvs
😜). I actually like the dual screen setup, I just wish the nav display was Google maps :)
The ride is quiet and smooth (there's actually active noise cancelling in the cabin) and that mid-range torque is fantastic on the highway.
Glad to choose new 2019 Acura RDX Shawd.
2:06 in the background
2020 models will have Carplay and Android Auto, and with all new infotainment system(12inch screen). CVT for QX60 will go away around 2021, instead is 9 speed AT and with all new generation QX60. Late 2019 might have a new model call QX50 Sport come out, it probably looks like BMW X6, and hope they don't use cvt for this one. Guys, I know Infiniti haven't done a good job, but I believe they are working on it. By the way, CX-5? The quality and the finish are not even close to QX50. So please stop judging it just by the look. Touch it and feel it.
Changwu Jia this is good news.
Guys chill the new 2020 starts at 36k with android auto and Apple car play
Good review as always. However, you said its a direct injection engine. However,
the website says it a point AND direct injection engine. Big difference. For longevity I like the PDI engine like ford and Toyota do.
Sofyan: Drive it like you stole it
Nissan: Ok, let's put in a beep that sounds like an anti-theft car alarm
FWD CVT is not luxury, its trash...like most of Nissan and Infiniti's products.
elusivellama better than ford
It has the wrong transmission for such an innovative motor. The dual screen setup makes sense if customers really do want the map to display at all times. But this vehicle needs Apple Car Play and Android Auto. At $40,000, the aging Lincoln MKC is the better buy. Never thought I say it, but I think I'm getting a Lincoln.
I like it,specially I got yesterday with 27k,w 45 miles on it...
A more performance oriented version of the QX50 is coming soon.
22:46 "vroom kill meeeee vroooooom ugh now please ughhghhhh vrooooom"
American just love those crossovers no matter it’s good or not....
Arent those the same wheels that were on the 2013 Nissan Sentra SR??
I think your right. What happened to infiniti?
Granny car now, compared to the previous model(s) or my Nissan Skyline Crossover 370GT Four, although long in the tooth interior wise (the old model exterior still looks great and holds up years and years later) - compared to this new design and features and power, meh. Here's hoping Mazda has a sportier version up its sleeve, at least their similar offerings are rocking!
That sexy challenger with red brakes at 22:36 !!!!
I'm not fond of how that 4 cylinder sounds at all! And it's amazing to me that they'd include 2 different screens that have such disparate qualities. It just makes the top screen look that much worse!
