Problem is Hollywood will do everything in their power to make sure she stays. Why? Because Hollywood is pro-left and pro-woke. If their people find out Disney had fired her because of how much the show bombed, then Disney would be labelled as sexist and bigots, and you know how unreasonable those type of people are. They have a reputation to uphold. Granted it’s the wrong type of reputation and they should be ashamed of it, but still this type of reputation earns them money and validation.
TLDR version, no they likely won’t end her career because Disney is so far woke and paranoid it’s insane!

@@justjamie5006 a show that breaks canon, has nonsensical writing, characters are flatter than wood, a show runner who admitted she lied about her qualifications to get work, said she didn’t watch much Star Wars. ( Tony Gilroy also said that BUT he went out of his way to study the source material unlike a headland), cheapens Anakin Skywalker’s conception, Jedi can be killed by a dagger but lightsaber stabs are basically useless, and finally when she gets told her work isn’t good she cries and blames the fans.

I’m honestly not even sure what this show is about. Allegedly following the perspective of the sith, but in substance following the Jedi a majority of the time, and there’s a set of twins that are supposed to do… what exactly? The whole show is the definition of creating more questions than answers.
The Twins have been boring from the start. They are rather passive, have no real goal and are never really going anywhere. This is not a mystery, but Lesley doing 180 million dollars of therapy.
Lost has a similar format that pays off as it goes on, all the fans kept asking for more subtle deeper stories yet when your given one that doesnt resolve all issues in one episode people freak out

@@charlielong9339 The Critical Drinker explains much better the issues with the series as well as Disney Star Wars. The weak plot is only one of many issues - poor editing, inconsistencies, disrespect to the history of the franchise. I never saw Lost but I don’t think what that series did applies to Star Wars or works with Star Wars. But Lesley wanted to put the Jedi in a bad light and she has done that very well. So her mission is accomplished.

The whole of star wars is about the constant battle of good and bad, jedi so fearful of the darkside they became dogmatic and hyper focused on their own teachings cutting out anything that could possibly lead to the dark side. The show isn't saying the jedi are bad, just that they aren't the be all good that SOME people thought they were.. there's a political system in the Republic and the jedi go from ruling it almost to just being peacekeepers in it which is what we have been shown here in acolyte. I personally like the series, and standby my statement that people just aren't getting that it's a deeper story which is evident how everyone flocks to different content creators to help them with their own opinions... if you don't like it that's a shame! Oh well

I just saw on Twitter that the Acolyte is the second most successful Star Wars series on Disney Plus. So many people are watching it. Successful is different than Favorite Series IMO. I'm watching it because I'm hoping it gets better week to week but it's not my favorite series. It's just mid for me. I like the Mandalorian and Asoka better. Curious on why do you think Acolyte is so "successful"?
...I call absolute bullshit on that Twitter claim. None of the numbers except the ones Disney is pulling out of its ass reflect this.
Viewership plain and simple. Besides episode 2 and 3, I've mildly been enjoying g thr show. I think episodes 4 5 and 6 really picked up the pace with episode 5 being one of my favorite episodes of live action star wars and episode 6 having some of the most compelling acting of any star wars in Sol's performance.
What a lot of the people who hate star wars don't seem to understand yet is that the most devastating thing they can do to a company is to stop consuming their product. All this hate and negativity has likely backfired and pushed people to watch the show out of morbid curiosity. All press is good press as they say. If Theory really cared about the quality of star wars he'd call for a boycot of the franchise until things improve but since he's tied his income to the franchise, he has no incentive to do that so instead he seems ro be delving deeper into covering drama, interviews, and promotional material.
I think there's a very large segment of the fanbase who are watching and enjoying and trying to engage with the show on a deeper level as a rejection of the wave of hatred which has been accusing the show of breaking lore and being poorly written. I for one began to really engaged with the show after the whole Mundi age debacle where the so called lore experts tried saying disney got Mundis age wrong and that somehow Mundi is a liar in the prequels when Mundi has always been wrong in everything he's said. "Dooku isn't a murderer, He's a political idealist!" When in fact he very much is a murderer. "The sith have been EXTINCT for a millennia" when in fact the sith have never been extinct. Like the people who said that just don't know Star Wars and accused disney of not knowing star wars.
Like there's so much legends stuff being brought back into canon that I genuinely think the team making the show care A LOT but episode 3 and rhe whole Power of Maaannyyyyyy thing sunk this show before it could swim. Hell, I remember watching theory before the show even premiered and he was actively hating on it. So this hatred, I don't buy as genuine but a continuation of a scheme to generate engagement through hate watching this show

I'm with you on Yoda not feeling anything from this. Granted, the sith work in 'shadows' for lack of a better word, and that can account for quite a bit. But Yoda did sense when Anakin slaughtered the whole camp of Tusken Raiders. In fact he felt that to an extreme. This level of a 'disturbance', I don't see how Yoda, or even many others, didn't feel when what was it, 8 jedi and such were mowed down, and even to add, smylo's head gear got broken, so then there was no hiding. and yet, somehow nothing felt. Meh, It is Disney so who tf knows with this level of, what ever this is.

@@zyncarlaso Yoda feels it everytime more than one jedi dies? In canon there was a war between the Nihil and the Jedi and not once did they mention Yoda feeling their deaths in the force. Like all 10k jedi getting murdered in a galaxy wide betrayal is very different than 8 random jedi dying on a mission. Even if Yoda did feel it, it isn't like he'd personally come down to the planet to investigate himself. Additionally, who knows if Yoda felt anything or not. He isn't in the show. None of us knows what he's doing and what he's thinking right now. Yoda is wholly irrelevant to the show

So the helmet is made of cortosis but he can use a welder or soldering iron on it, interesting. When master v says collect the bodies the sound bite was obviously added later on. Must have took heat over that no one cared about the bodies.

True. Restoring something to factory settings is easy. They had to hack the legal protocols out of C3PO which I imagine is a lot harder. Realistically, restoring your phone to factory settings only takes a few presses. Jailbraking it a whole other can of worms

When i heard AcOlYte , saw its trailer I thought The sith was going to be powerful. Like Voldemort, a dark magician even . I didn't expect A dude in 30s to be a bad guy . Leave this , Every JEDI IN the story is downright pathetic. Except SoL. However None of them are Serious or Worth of Being Called a Jedi master. Every character is written in a cartooning style which hinders the story is going to end/kill them all .

Why? It’s clear he’s a loose cannon character sort of like Qui-Gon. He goes to a planet with a bunch of other Jedi, they’re all found dead with lightsaber injuries and Sol isn’t there. It’s a solid theory by the Jedi considering the Sith haven’t been active for ages so they’d have no reason to suspect it to be a Sith

I used to watch LOST (2004-2010), so I’m used to NOT getting answers right away. I’m used to waiting another week after the episode ends in a cliffhanger or without answers but leaves more questions. They will dangle the carrot until the final few episodes. So when this episode ended abruptly, I wasn’t shocked. A tease as usual. No answers again. Is it frustrating? Hell yeah. Am I surprised by it? Nope.
The two big reveals are…
- Qimir/Smilo Ren/The Stranger was a former Jedi
- Qimir’s master tossed him away when explaining his back scars
This might be too dark for Star Wars, but I wondered if Sol had an inappropriate relationship with Osha? Makes me wonder if they were in love? Make the Jedis into the Catholic church and Sol is a priest having an inappropriate relationship with his pupil. Qimir even pointed out how Osha asked about Sol first before Mae.
Sol did get pretty dark at the end. But once I saw him ready to talk to Mae, I knew right away they were going to cut the scene. But hey, Conehead Jedi didn’t exactly ruin canon. Yay! Like Star Wars has never been filled with plot holes? Sol never said Sith to them. Then the static with communications. Then Sol hauled ass out of there before Vernestra arrived. Sol is more Moon than Sun. More Luna than Sol. His darkness is coming out.
Nothing really happened in this episode as usual. The Bazil and Pip humor was not funny at all. I did like the scenery where Qimir and Osha were at. Looks like Skellig Michael again where they shot Luke’s scenes on Ahch-To in TLJ. I guess Osha wasn’t impressed by Qimir’s penis size. 🤣 I think nobody was impressed by Aemond Targaryen’s penis size either. Manny was probably wearing shorts but it’s being implied he’s naked. I thought Osha is a lesbian like the actress who portrays her?

How the hell did it go from killing Jedis like it’s Order 66/Red Wedding to becoming awkwardly sexual in the next episode? The Acolyte became Fifty Shades of Grey Jedi. Tone is all over the place. Qimir recently murdered Osha’s friends and now writers are trying to build some sexual tension between them? 🤣 That’s probably the first penis and male ass Osha has ever seen in her life after being raised by lesbian witches and Jedis who stay celibate. The Parent Trap parody from Mae on Sol was a big waste of time. As Jeremy Jahns said, Sol could’ve known that’s Mae at the end of Ep. 5 and Ep. 6 would’ve ended the same exact way.
Such a frustrating series to watch. The only thing good about it was Smilo Ren killing Jedis in Ep. 5 and that’s it. That’s the only highlight. The show should’ve ended with Ep. 5 with Smilo Ren killing everyone. Nothing else is that interesting and they keep beating around the bush with these mysteries. But at least Ep. 7 will be the flashback episode. Ep. 6 is a 6/10. Get ready for more review bombing.

Even The Boys’ recent episode with flying sheep which looked stupid was better than this episode from The Acolyte. Wait for House of the Dragon’s Season 2 Episode 4 this Sunday. It’s going to be the best episode that series has ever done. Perhaps even better by Ep. 8. Should be Team 🖤 favorite HOT D episode ever.
When I saw Ep. 6 was 36 minutes or 4 more minutes than Ep. 4 and 5, I thought maybe they would answer the big question. Nope. Another 36 minutes wasted on absolutely nothing. I guess Tyrone Magnus is right. Episode 5 was a FLUKE. Back to the crappy norm like Ep. 1-4 are. I got more fun out of a 3-hour movie in Horizon: An American Saga Chapter 1 than I did with this episode.
Mae is easily the worst written character in the series and that’s saying a lot because the others aren’t all that well written either. Mae seems to change her motives every 30 seconds. What the hell does Mae really want to do? It’s weird to say Osha is the better character when they’re being portrayed by the same damn person who is out to piss off white people!
Manny’s character is the most interesting in this show and he’s actually the one who happens to be the most informative. Qimir is the one explaining things to the audience. He’s the fan favorite more viewers are interested to know more about. But the series keeps focusing on the twins who are as interesting as the three Rs: Rey, Rose, and Reva. R2 is more interesting than any of these females.
This was a nothingburger episode. True, some people pointed out the best character development for The Stranger and Osha. That was probably the most interesting part of this episode was Qimir and Osha’s interactions. But nothing to move the plot. The parts with Sol and Mae were not as interesting and then the huge tease which revealed nothing at the end. Ep. 6 is really a teaser trailer for Ep. 7.
Star Wars Meg is saying Vernestra is Qimir’s former master. Those scars do like it came from her lightwhip. Meg will probably be correct since it’s so easy to predict what happens next. I predict Sol and Vernestra will get killed by The Stranger and Osha for the sake of Conehead Jedi not breaking canon 100 years later. Unless Ki-Adi-Mundi is the Pinocchio among Jedis and his penis head keeps growing each time he says a lie.
After this series is done, people will move on and forget about it quickly. Move on to mocking The Rings of Power S2. The torture from Lez-lie Headland (without much head) ends on July 16. Then The Boys S4 ends on July 18, the same day Cobra Kai S6 Part I starts. Then we get Deadpool & Wolverine a week later. House of the Dragon S2 ends on August 4. Thank goodness The Acolyte is almost over.
*The* *Acolyte* *is* *full* *of* *identity* *politics* *when* *it* *doesn’t* *even* *know* *it’s* *own* *identity.* From kung fu to whodunit to horror to a Predator massacre to Fifty Shades and The Parent Trap? The tone changes every 30 seconds like Mae changes motives every 30 seconds. Let me guess, Episode 8 is going to be a rom-com and a threesome between Qimir, Osha, and Mae after they kill Sol and Vernestra? Go butt naked in that pool. Ménage à twats.
Imagine The Acolyte’s episodes are only 32-36 minutes long compared to the 66-68 minutes we’re getting from House of the Dragon S2 and The Boys S4, and some people are already saying The Acolyte is feeling like a slogfest? 🥱That’s how bad the writing is. The characters are acting like morons. No sense of build up tension. Only apathy in every scene. And as The Critical Drinker said, right when Sol is going to give us some information, another distraction interrupts the scene.
I was listening to The Breakroom and it seems all three of them want Qimir to stay alive. Yeah, let’s hope so. Maude said Qimir is by far her favorite. Again, The Acolyte should’ve ended in Ep. 5 with Smilo Ren killing them all. Qimir is the only interesting character in it moving forward. I could care less if Osha and Mae die. Then kill Sol and Vernestra to prevent Penishead looking like a liar 🤥. Who knew Jason Mendoza would be the coolest baddie in SW after 20 years?

A lot of comments echo that sentiment. Sure, if it's not for you, don't watch it, simple. Don't bash the show just cause disney isn't making YOUR Star Wars. The acolyte has it's flaws, I was absolutely bored in ep 3. It also has its positives. Manny jacinto as the stranger plays that role perfectly. Whats up SWT! I hate the acolyte with the passion of 1000 burning suns. I bet Master Rwoh is Smilo's true master. The writers might be attempting to go the "Sith Infiltrator" route. I remember the concept from "Star Wars - The Old Republic Galactic Timelines Record 007: Peace For the Republic" where Master Gnost Dural told of an incident regarding a master and padawan. The Jedi Master descended from a family of "Sith Infiltrators" whose job was to infiltrate The Republic and the Jedi Order and undermine them over the centuries. This might be the direction, but that would take imagination and skill and we know no one at LucasFilm has either right now.

Honestly its a cool show in theory. Like on paper, if I told you its a story about an assassin that kills Jedi that committed crimes, there is an investigation, it turns out the serial killer grew up in a religious cult, and the crimes were murdering the killers witch family but we don't know who exactly did it. In the investigation a Sith is discovered the first in 1000 years but the Sith is covered up by a sinister mole inside the Jedi Order who turns out to be Darth Tenebrous. Sol killed the family on orders from the green lady who was his superior officer because witchcraft is bad and then Sol got mind wiped by the green lady to cover it up. You would say holy crap make me that show NOW. So its really a shame how poorly executed these themes are, its a waste of a story.
I believe it is possible for a fan edit of this show to be really good depending on the final 2 episodes.
I am so glad that I'm not the only one to think about this!! When it was announced and the story got leaked, I genuinely was excited. 80 years before The Phantom Menace and we'll look into the Sith. It had a really great concept but it just wasn't executed well. It is a bit exhausting/sad to see shows/movie have a great idea but just not do well. @@QuanTumm1357 None. I just have a nostalgia on her with mace. A high ranking jedi master with purple lightsaber. In Starwars canon only 2 jedi wield a purple lightsaber. But her lightsaber is unique like a whip.
I try not to argue with DSW vs GLSW canon because DSW canon isnt even consistent within itself.

The 0/10 series is just a result of a series that was going 2/10 got a lightsaber fight and then became pathetic again. We are still waiting for the 180M special effects season.
Given your history as a fanboy of what I thought was not star wars starting circa 2016, like Episode 7, Rogue Uno, and Idr the other one, you're change of attitude towards SW is like a person that attended the mass Kool-Aid drinking session in Africa many years ago (Jonestown to be exact), but you were not given the Kool-Aid that had the poison in it, so survived. I mean no disrespect by this comment. However, its simply my opinion. Why would you continue doing watch parties (other than for basic content making reasons) for a show you very much dislike, as do I. What I don't want to do is inadvertently support the show with views, and rather show my action of distaste by boycotting the show, as you do have a platform where people will watch the show with you just to do watch along, in a way you're brining Disney views accidentally or intentionally. I believe the quality will change when the statistics change, so seeing new data per show will make shareholders turn over and potentially change their direction with said content. Numbers are what speak. I have multiple connections in the industry (mostly family) who know people mid to high levels that laugh and believe fans will eat up mindless "memberberries" even if the show is bad. My point is would you see more of a plus to stop doing watch along for shows you know you don't like and don't support, but are giving your vote whether you realize it or not by simply watching the show, of course the reviews are present, but with streaming it's all about numbers, so by not watching your already speaking your vote by not acting on watching it. Any show I don't enjoy, i don't support with my views. Again, I appreciate you, have enjoyed your content for yours, more so just looking to have some discourse on everyone's opinion from behind the scenes. This opinion may not be popular but many other YTers have discussed not supporting the show with content, views, or simply watching it, as hate watching ends up supporting Disney overall, as does reviews, here say, and reputation of said show, but don't underestimate the subscriber counts and views, now if Subscriber count goes down and views go up, that's more of a red flag for Disney than anything else, as subs lost and views mid to high indicate a huge piece of the fan base checking out but younger audiences being conformed to lesser quality content and they see it as "great" when they just won't experience great movies like we used to if the trend and cultural shifts continue in the way I predict it to, but to each their own of course and love a lot of your content, as banter, discussion, and all types of star wars fans can express their opinions. I think many fans forget that these shows are entertainment, and I understand something from your childhood affecting your emotions, but I do believe people should have a balance and enjoy content, but it shouldn't have any negative hold over your emotions, if you don't like the content okay, if you do FANTASTIC! Everyone has an opinion on entertainment, I think people feel personally attacked when things from their childhood are not treated with care, almost like a personal offense, people blind themselves from emotion and end up having biases rooted in HATRED AND ANGER, BITTERNESS even. I really enjoy the positives of the fan base, but don't spend too much time conversing with people as they for some reason think their head cannon is cannon, or their own opinion is COSMIC TRUTH. However, the toxicity that comes with many different fan bases is turning off many from even being a part of said fan base. I'm all for good quality content but it seems a good piece of the pie from the overall fanbase are stuck in this "I can't think for myself, so I'll just agree to what everyone else says, loves, or hates, even if I'm lying, because the fan base says so and I lack the ability to form my own observations based on who I am as a person and fan". To each their own of course, I very much enjoy the fanbase and overall, back and forth banter from time to time.
