When "Tyler"/Paul said he was getting more and more frustrated as time went by and that "this needs to come to an end," I knew he was faking. Those aren't the words of someone who's lost everything and wants answers, those are the words of someone who put on a show to try to get out of trouble, and only realized when he was in too deep and couldn't go back that he just got himself in even more trouble. He meant "this charade needs to come to an end."
This dumbass stole a truck filled with frozen foods, sold the contents on the black market, and then faked amnesia when he knew he could get caught. He could have gotten away with it if he had not gone on national television with his story. Total dumbass.
The solving of the Ethel Kidd case always stood out to me. If I recall correctly, the killer's sister recognized his hand writing on the broadcast and called in on a re-run. It just goes to show you how crucial unsolved mysteries was in solving challenging crimes.
Except that it has ritual sacrifice red flags:. April 13th. 1989= 1+8=9. Three sixes, backwards. She turned up into an area already searched, like so many ritual sacrifice victims. The victim is held so members can attend the ritual. Rape and murder are part of their evil religion.
45:50:I don't remember the Ethel Kidd segment but that has got to be one of the most terrifying camera shots that the Unsolved Mysteries film crew ever filmed. Absolutely bone chilling scene!!
He was probably forced to do it by people around him, those who were trying to find his identity, and since it would have been really suspicious of him to refuse the help he went along with it. Like he lost control of the lie, and ended up on national television.
Paul Beal’s ex-wife posted several times on the UM forums, providing lots of insight and details regarding his background and phony amnesia. Well worth the read!
I read it..idk who to believe.. he certainly has had a lot of bad luck .. i hope he wasn’t bullshitting .. he put a lot of people through hell .. I guess karma caught up with him if he is a fake 🙄
I believe him , think about he ended up in the desert 🏜 of all places no truck was found so my theory is the amnesia was first starting when he took that truck full of food, he probably legitimately thought he had to deliver it as he was questioned but not initially arrested why because he thought he was supposed to really take that food truck to LA . Amnesia patients will forget family friends their entire life but sometimes the patient will have broken pieces of memories but appear like a puzzle pieces in their brain that they can't seem to piece together. So when the police arrested for larceny he was surprised yet dealt with it. He looks so confused in his mugshot sad 😥
Why was Paul crying over the phone to his mother about not remembering her, then completely emotionless when meeting her initially? Trying to remember her or trying to appear as if he didn't remember her?
“Amnesia victim”: I have amnesia. Cops: How long have you had amnesia? “Amnesia victim”: Umm. Nine months. 😂😂 They should’ve buried his lying behind under the jail. 😂
The best and scariest segments of unsolved mystery always have been ones like the last segment where there is a mystery of who and why someone got murdered or disappeared. Unfortunately someone had to die for there to be a story as messed up as it is. Something about ones like Ethel kidd that made this show really good especially the creepy synths they would use for the music when something is unsettling.
@@marquitashiver6141 I remember it also, I think because it was just a easy scape goat that people would believe back then. @AmericanRelic2hear ok I can understand that. Maybe I'm not familiar with amnesia symptoms but it's weird someone can remember words of the english language and how to form sentences but can't remember familiar people in their past. Maybe language is muscle memory I don't know. I would think a face or person would be burned into your brain like words.
When I turned to see who was speaking to me, I saw seven gold lampstands. And standing in the middle of the lampstands was someone like the Son of Man. He was wearing a long robe with a gold sash across his chest. His head and his hair were white like wool, as white as snow. And his eyes were like flames of fire. His feet were like polished bronze refined in a furnace, and his voice thundered like mighty ocean waves. He held seven stars in his right hand, and a sharp two-edged sword came from his mouth. And his face was like the sun in all its brilliance. Revelation 1:12-16 NLT
The amnesia/Paul case is odd. Seems sketchy. Jospeh Maloney walked from an Irish prison after poisoning his wife, sickens me. Going to have to google that and see if he has been apprehended. Update: he has not been apprehended and is still free in his 70s. My god. 😑 The third case is absolutely horrifying and he got his karma rotting in prison.
It really sickens me how he managed to ellude to be apprehended again. It seems like he planned ahead everything before poisoning his ex wife. Because he was interested in a chemical that was almost untraceble. He then went to a country that had no extradition agreement with the U.S. Finally, when the Irish Parliament passed a treaty, he walked out of jail because of a technicality in the process. My God. Give me a break.
All of this just to try and get away with stealing a load of seafood that you would eventually be found and charged with regardless? Just makes no sense.
i agree. i think the same way. maybe if he had murdered or raped somebody but just for petty theft? and you look at his reactions talking and meeting his mom i think even a academy award winning actor would have trouble pulling that one off
...cops think they're so smart. Not saying the guy really had amnesia, but if someone really does have it, they would remember when they woke up from it. In this case it would be the day he woke up in the hospital which was 9 months prior to the arrest. It's not rocket science.
After three seasons of UM so far, one noticeable trend is that US cops are, by and large, dumbasses. ...or crooked or just plain lazy and dispassionate.
I don't know about anyone else, but the hunter finding Ethel Kidd's body made the hairs on my neck stand up and heart flutter. And I don't scare that easy. Imagine stumbling upon that in the woods. Seeing a body tied to a tree is frightening enough, but imagine not knowing if the creep who was sadistic enough to do that was still around maybe hiding in the bushes watching you and ready to sneak up behind you. Even with a rifle in your hands that would be damned terrifying. No wonder the hunter got the hell out of there soon as he saw it.
Still incredible that Maloney is still out there. When I watched this segment, they gave his photo the age-progressed treatment along with suspenseful music.
“I don’t remember you”.... yeah right! He just so happen to wonder out the dessert when a car was coming by, OK..😂. And his poor mother is just happy to have her son back, even with the foolishness... Boy sit down!
To be fair, driving yourself to extreme dehydration just to evade 90 days of jail time is a pretty hard thing to do I think... And he is a real good actor if he faked those emotions during the telephone call.
But why the frack would he go on unsolved mysteries?! ETA: obviously he was lying, but I still can't work out his motivation for going on the show. Was he really dumb enough to think that claiming amnesia (whether he was believed or not) would magically clear him of the charges?
les antoine It is pretty scary but at least in the end they caught the suspect named Edward Wayne Beverly he was convicted sent to prison and died behind bars justice has been served.
A subsequent airing of this case on the show generated a tip about a suspect named Edward Wayne Beverly, who was serving time in prison for an unrelated crime. Although his name was not mentioned in the broadcast at the time, another update featuring Keely Shaye Smith indicated that he was recognized by the handwriting on his preparation list found within the atlas he left at the scene. He had lived in Burr Hill, Virginia, but he suddenly left the area after the murder. Once he was tracked down to a Tennesse prison, authorities compared his DNA and fingerprints to evidence at the crime scene; they matched. A few months before he was to be released from prison, he was charged with Ethel's murder. He was later convicted of rape, abduction, and murder and given three life sentences. He died there in late 2008. Sadly, Ethel's widower, Gilbert, passed away in 2006 at the age of 71. Her son Gilbert Jr. and son-in-law Thomas have also since passed away.
That reenactment of the discovery of Kidd's body tied to the tree is horrific (and believe me I'm a hardcore horror/exploitation film freak and have seen some crazy stuff). And in reality to discover that would be traumatic, I'm sure the hunter who discovered it is haunted by it; it would certainly traumatized and haunt me forever. Like I said, even the reenactment is disturbing as hell and has haunted me for years.
Omg sameeeee!!!! I've been googling it for years with no luck. Finally found it today!!!! It's always stayed with me and I live on true crime horror stories but this one makes me sick.
That was one of the most frightening scenes ever, especially when it is said ''He came across a shocking sight''. The scene of her tied to the tree and that line haunted me for decades.

The shroud of Turin STILL hasn't been recreated. In fact, work has been done and I read a report that hypothesizes that radiation is what "burned" the image on, if you will. There's a good amount of weight behind the conclusion. It's one of the things that made me start believing again
Jesus had AB negative blood on the Shroud , but they didn't air that. And a webpage on the Shroud changed the blood type to positive (as in Rhesus monkey protein). Evil ones trying to hide the truth. 🇺🇲⚖️⚔️
Yeah, I don't think we can conclude anything based on the carbon dating because the shroud is *known* to have gone through a fire. That kind of heat is known to mess with carbon dating results.
Woah.....so this Joseph Maloney fled to a place where he couldn't be extradited....this was a very intelligent man. He will never be found if he's still alive. I wonder though what he did for a living in the US....being on the run like that costs a LOT of $$.
I Really Don't Know Wheather Or Not "Tyler" Faked His Amnesia But How The Hell You Do Not Know Your Name Where U Come From Or Where's Your Family Located It's A Complete Mystery To Me
I don't know that she actually believed him. She said all the things someone on a tv soap opera would say, I don't know. I still find it totally crazy that he even went on UM
The best and most basic argument for the Shroud of Turin being fake is that, if you drape a cloth over a face and it leaves an impression, the impression won't look like a correctly-proportioned face. It will be distorted. Personally, I subscribe to the theory that the image was created using a very primitive camera obscura, or similar technique.
I wouldn't know about that. My whole thought was they literally said it didn't know where it originally came from, so if it was a face, how would they know whose face it really was?
His blood type wasn't mentioned. It was AB negative. A webpage on the shroud recently was changed to say the Shroud was AB positive blood. That was a deliberate action to obscure the truth. Why would they bother if the Shroud were fake?
Tyler is my dad and this is the first time I’ve watched the episode. I’ve only ever read the article and heard about this second hand and this shit is wildddddd
Your sentence only shows that you are clueless about the human's body ; so an " injury" to you is only when you're hit with an object ? Being in a desert for days cannot cause injury to the body ? You're clueless...
Wow! There's a warrant out for your arrest because you stole a truck load of frozen food. That story makes no sense. Why would he leave his family for a truck load of food? What's the point? Some thing just doesn't add up.
People with TRUE amnesia ...often display signs of frustration, confusion, BORDER line anger...not really tears when talking to someone that they allegedly could not remember..
It's virtually impossible to prove someone has "amnesia", any "diagnosis" would be a subjective /clinical one. It's kind of surprising with the experiences that he apparently has in his past, that he's never been fingerprinted.
~Shrug~ My mother was sixteen when she was struck by a drunk driver; shattering her body and putting her into a six-month coma. They thought she'd die or be in a persistent vegetative state for the rest of her life. Obviously that didn't happen or I'd not be here, but she recalled to me how terrifying it was at first, waking up, knowing no one, absolutely confused, and having people say stuff like, "I'm your doctor," while she thought, "what's a doctor? Huh? What's going on...what is happening?" Yep. Complete retrograde amnesia, and she had to relearn everything from square one. I imagine having as many siblings as she does led to her eventually becoming a functional human being once more, but she'll never get most of those first sixteen years back. She's told me that, after decades, she began to recall bits and pieces of some things, but they are like splinters of memory. She does strangely recall the day of the accident, although not the accident itself. She had been dating her first boyfriend, and he was killed in the crash, while the drunk driver...as you might have guessed...had barely any injuries and got a slap on the wrist and no jail time; the asshole...
I don't think the guy coulda faked it for so long for so well...if it was his first offense, he would've gotten a slap on the wrist. And as smart as he was, he would've known that. There would be no reason to fake amnesia. Yeah, it's easy to fake amnesia, but to do it convincingly for months on end without slipping is nearly impossible.
The charge was a shocker. That's a lot of trouble to go through to escape a charge for stealing a truckload of frozen food. Why would any average person steal frozen food like that? The total haul couldn't have been much more than $5,000.
It’s clear cut: He faked it. No explanation is needed, people do this kinda stuff all the time. This shows people did this sort of stuff way before social media even existed. He most likely loved the attention too much.
That Joe Maloney case always frustrated me. I mean getting back at his ex wife during their son's birthday party? That's the lowest of lows. Makes you wonder where the kids are today

@@wealwaysbeenhere1340 My best guess re the heart attack at such a young age would be either drug abuse (meth, coke, or other stimulants) or very bad genetics.

The solving of the Ethel Kidd case always stood out to me. If I recall correctly, the killer's sister recognized his hand writing on the broadcast and called in on a re-run. It just goes to show you how crucial unsolved mysteries was in solving challenging crimes.
Beverly was in prison when his cellmate saw a re-run of the episode. The cellmate turned him in based on the handwriting.
Except that it has ritual sacrifice red flags:. April 13th. 1989= 1+8=9. Three sixes, backwards. She turned up into an area already searched, like so many ritual sacrifice victims. The victim is held so members can attend the ritual. Rape and murder are part of their evil religion.

It really sickens me how he managed to ellude to be apprehended again. It seems like he planned ahead everything before poisoning his ex wife. I’m not sure why but the segment /case of Ethel Kidd was always one of my favorite segments.
les antoine It is pretty scary but at least in the end they caught the suspect named Edward Wayne Beverly he was convicted sent to prison and died behind bars justice has been served.

You don't seem to understand the concept of "miracle." And how would the image stay on the cloth using a camera obscura?

They thought she'd die or be in a persistent vegetative state for the rest of her life. Yep.

He most likely loved the attention too much.
honestly this sounds like the crap my ex would do with faking amnesia to get away from responsibilities SMH....
HE wanted out of a marriage with two young toddlers/babies. THAT is why he faked it! he is not genuine!
@@larrywakeman4371At least he didn’t do what Brad Bishop and Robert William Fisher did
That Joe Maloney case always frustrated me. I mean getting back at his ex wife during their son's birthday party? That's the lowest of lows. Makes you wonder where the kids are today
Even more sickening is the extradition crap. Ireland police just let him go. Wanted fugitives sure take full advantage of the extradition barrier.
@@mr.sinjin-smyth yeah that shows how the justice system is so corrupt around the world
Thank you for the upload Robert Stacks was awesome Narrator on this show
How and where did Paul, "Tyler" learn to fly?
according to the ex wife
he never flew, or scuba dived..too busy joggling
3-4 girlfriends at a time
what I wanna know is how he managed to have a heart attack in his 30s
& wind up in a wheelchair?
@@wealwaysbeenhere1340 ya thats hilarious. they had him do all of that shit and he had zero experience.
@@wealwaysbeenhere1340 um, he had a heart attack in 2007, he was 23 in 1991... please relearn grade school math
@@wealwaysbeenhere1340 My best guess re the heart attack at such a young age would be either drug abuse (meth, coke, or other stimulants) or very bad genetics. As to his juggling multiple broads at a time, they must have been ugly/fat broads - because he wasn't exactly blessed with matinee idol looks, and obviously wasn't wealthy.
@@jhoch5 '91-'07 is 16 years. In '91 he was 23. 23+16=39. Sooo yeah he had a hear attack in his 30's. I think you're the 1 that needs to go back to school, dude.
The Paul story has me sitting here with my mouth hanging open. They allowed unsolved to film all of this?!? 😳🤯
Its FAKE. HE WAS BULL😅SHITT!NG
Sweaty Paul. 😅🤣😂
as long as your mouth is open, let me just put something in there...boioioioioinnnnnggggggg!!!!
10:33 police illegal arrest a documented medical condition sufferer after watching Unsolved Mysterys. Detectives deny watching the episode and claim they did all the work to find him themselves.
I have no future
UPDATE: Yeah, we didn't find him. *shrug*
Lol
11:05 maximum awkwardness ensues
