What happens to these poor people like Rolando Cruz, after spending 11 years on death row and then DNA evidence finds him not guilty of the crime? Shouldn't the state award him Financial restitution for taking his life away and scaring him with death for all of those years?
Yes, his attorney must file suit for compensation.

@Jensen I think when they collared him he was a confessed gang member. When your in a gang fair or not you can get implicated in things you had nothing to do with. Not to mention trying to defraud the police department out of $10,000

this gentleman ,Charlie, truly a gentle soul... just look into his eyes.. so kind and full of love. what a wonderful wonderful soul to have taken in a strangers kids. so happy, even though it took 51 years, he never ever lost hope to see "his little girls" again... heart warming!!

@20:13 Damn, how do these people in power be it a detective, police, officer, district attorney, or judge not be held liable for sending a man to prison under false imprisonment and almost be executed? Forget suing the state I would go after every single person that was involved and made up facts about the case individually through a civil suit if possible.

As for the native American family. I know it was hard on the children. But the welfare department was doing its best to make sure that they were provided and taken care of. Who knows what would have happened to them if the welfare department did not step in.
