Ah Jethro Tull: The greatest band not currently in the rock and roll hall of fame. Thanks again, Marty!
Thanks for breaking this down for us. Always a great lesson. Tull does indeed deserve to be in the Hall of Fame, especially given a number of bands inducted that have far less musical influence and skill. But, Tull was never widely popular. Those that still happen to find this 7 yr old thread might want to search for videos of Martin Barre's band playing this. It's simply stunning, bringing back the energy of Tull in the early days. Still one of the most under-appreciated guitarist masters out there. Anyone liking the early music sans flute would love the show.
So happy someone else loves Jethro Tull as much as I do ✌🏽🤘🏽
good lesson..great track ..love the bluesy guitar of Martin Barre from TULL!
Great lesson Marty. Glad to see a lesson by a band that managed to sell over 60 million records ... has possibly played live to as many people as any band in rock history ... and has somehow managed to be left out of the Rock HOF. For those interested, this is a Jethro Tull song from the album Stand Up. There are many more where this come from.
Marty.....Thank you so much for this Jethro Tull lesson.....Just fantastic...I am learning a lot from you...you are a great teacher and I like your selections/choices.....You are the best

Martin Barre one of thee most underrated guitar players in history
Awesome lesson as always! I was just wondering if maybe in a future lesson you might be able to begin by telling the viewers what settings you are using on your amp? I think it would be a really great way for the viewers to achieve/replicate the tones and styles in your videos. Im sort of a newbie with amps, and different sounds so it would be very beneficial for me, but i'm sure there are a lot of other beginners in the same boat. Just a thought!
what to say,another great lesson
great job marty, :)
Drifting blues by Clapton for sure.

Yay blues!
Not including the vocals it sounds something like Hendrix. I'm going to give it a try on an Roland S88. Not quite sure what I'm going to do for the drum part. It's a nice song. I like early Tull. I grew up with early Tull.

He's one of the biggest online teachers in the world, along with Justin sandercoe, they get thousands of comments a week - so they don't reply to anyone! Which Is understandable, but yes he does you a screen. He's got a full studio for recording lessons, it's his full time job!
